I understand that, at such a late stage of .86 development that asking for pretty much anything to be added is a long shot in-of itself, so I figured I'd ask the community.
Now, most of my characters are tied pretty closely together, with further ties to AI research. Now, I've been toying with the idea of purchasing a station as a base from which I can continue this in-RP, but I've been unsure as to how I'd go about it.
Ideally, it'd be a small installation within the Quebec system, hidden behind one of the planets so that passersby wouldn't just stumble across it. I chose Quebec as it's out of the way, and somewhat relevant to my character's backstory, having first started programming AIs on the Alma in the same system.
If necessary, I would be willing to give up the Pilgrim I've been using as my research base to make it.

That's the idea, Punker. Station purchasing hasn't yet been cleared. We tried passing the idea through for OSI and Freeport 14 and that wasn't quite met with a warm reception. And we've got a significant portion of roleplay behind the request, too.
As far as the singular idea of a station being added, I'm dubious as to whether the dev team would pass a station intended, in majority, for a single person's roleplay. For that to happen, it'd most likely need to be a request from a faction, and of course as Punker noted, within a system owned by that faction.
I'm not a dev myself, though, so I could very well be wildly inaccurate in my above statements.
If this is to happen, your roleplay would have to be stellar, you would most likely have to put it into a system that would be rather empty or insignificant to other factions.
You building that station alone inRP would be possible if you had a fleet of AI ship, but given that the resources needed to build a station is so huge, i doubt you could even explain inRP how you would get all that.
