If a pirate runs into a trader, and that trader informs the pirate (probably via PM) that they're actually best friends forever due to another character on the trader's account between which there is no real honest to goddess rp connection... Then I elect that trader fly him/herself into the sun.
Any other character you fly is 100% irrelevant to the character you happen to be in at that very moment (save characters that are both in the same faction in some cases).
DISCLAIMER - THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXAMPLE AND IN NO WAY SHOULD BE CONSTRUED AS ACTUAL FACT: If you are flying your trader ([Joe.Blow[T]) and you pirated by [RoS] in no circumstance should you say to that pirate the following: "My other character is in the 202nd so we are both Outcasts so... we're all good. Long live Malta." :nono:This is EXTREMELY OORP and is not to be tolerated. If I were that [RoS] member I would then triple the tax and call it an OORP penalty.
Just my opinion.

YES! Thank you! Couldn't agree more. I mean, hell, no matter who you are, odds are that I've got a character allied or friendly with yours. I have: BAF, Gaian, Hessian, OSC, Xeno, Coalition, Zoner...did I miss anything? XD And often, I wind up fighting against somebody who's a friend or comrade in another faction - which just means we get to rib each other after it's over!:P
Ah, I've seen that happening a few times, a pirate helping a trader because, supposedly, they were big friends, not in RP but actual players behind the characters.
Don't know how to look upon that little incident, I think it's funny, but a while ago I've been told not to shoot upon some corsair character, he claimed to be russian too, I laughed and killed him regardless: there were some nomads in his cargo hold waiting to be brought back home. After that he made very bad insults towards me and... I haven't seen him on the server again. Must have been devoured by a larger fish.
Couldn't agree more really, I see this constantly whereever I go, a lot of it in Rheinland. We get usual comments like "I have a Military character too! You can't fine me.". Or something like "You shoot me and I'll bring my Corsair down". Blah blah blah blah, there are many words to could say to them there and there, but you know, there are those wonderful things call Server rules.
For the record, I believe CHL may have confused schizophrenia (a disorder involving temporary disconnection with reality, akin to narcolepsy without actual sleep) and multiple personalities disorder (a disorder where multiple personas inhabit the mind of a single person).
Cronyism is, in my opinion, a cancer upon the Discovery community. Friends metagaming for friends, small anti server cliques and the degeneracy of RP into chatroom-hood are all very bad things for Disco and its future.
Had a trader I was pirating do this once, except it was the much, much more common, "You pirate me and I'll bring out my GB". I did something unusual. I told him to do that. I was fed up, and said, "You do that, and I'll just teach you a little lesson". The great thing about constantly being outclassed by gunboats is that you learn fast. Even money on a 1v1 between me in a VHF and a GB, I'd say. But that's besides the point.
