Hi guys, was just wondering if its possible to be able to play Discovery Mod while still being able to play another mod. I'm asking because i found the Crossfire mod and wanted to check it out but i still want to be able to play Disco. So is there a way to have a dual install or something to do this because both basically corrupt your install once you have installed them.
Yep. Install FL like normal, copy the folder, activate Discovery, rename folder to Discovery or something, paste old folder that you copied before, install your second mod there, create shortcuts to the relevant .exes.
There's a tutorial around here somewhere, too lazy to look it up though.
Wasn't there a Freelancer Mod Manager? Though while it will take you less harddisk space, you'll need to deactivate the first and activate the second every time you switch.

Depending on which FLMM you use, that could easily take up large chunks of time and render your FL install unplayable, unless you use the "restore from backups" option, which creates a backup folder, ergo, uses up the same amount of space as having multiple copies. And if you use FLMM, you have to re-set-up your shortcut command line args each time you enable the mod, a tedious process.

Like i said in the first post, playing Crossfire or Disco wrecks your install and makes you have to reinstall the game if you want to change mods.
I once had 6 mods...atm I have 5. Only the bloody Discovery requires FLMM hehe. It is just simple copy-past. All you need is a vanilla freelancer folder and loots of HDD space.
Create a folder with name of the mod for example Crossfire.
Copy the unmodded vanilla FL files there.
Copy the Crossfire mod files there. Overwrite.
Make a shortcut and you are done.
I am running SWWT, Void and Crossfire this way atm. The only drawback is that you cannot set stuff like when you are activating the mods via FLMM.
