Like i said in the subject, i'm doing this for fun since i couldn't be bothered to do anything more with it. If anyone is interested enough and people like it enough that someone wants to run with it, tell me and we can try something. Otherwise this is a "olol i liek's dis" or "eat flames loser" thread.
Quote:Back in the days of the war in Sol between the Coalition and the Alliance all of the lesser countries of earth were left behind as the sleeper ships left. They were attacked by the now unstoppable Coalition and most of them fell. But the one's that survived, the rich, the strong and the clever, banded together to create one more sleeper ship, The Heritage. This ship encompassed what remained of the Indian Subcontinent, an assortment of other smaller or less renowned countries and the few parts of Africa that made it.
The sleeper ship left while the last remaining Alliance forces on Earth were destroyed and went on its journey to Sirius. This ship had quite a uneventful flight, unlike the Hispania. It reached Sirius slightly after the others but in a unforeseen turn of event, was hit by a rock. This is nothing but the improbability of it was never accounted for, the engineers never expected a rock the exact size of 50Cm across and in height to hit the ship at the precise angle as to destroy its Main Computer banks.
The ship was left adrift while Bretonia, Liberty, Rheinland and Kusari built up. Then, one day, the ship just happened to drift by a pair of Junkers. These Junkers decided that they wanted to see what the inside of a real Sleeper ship looked like, as they likely wouldn't get another chance. So they landed aboard the Heritage and salvaged and plundered it until one of them accidentally activated the reserve computer banks. The ship lit up and all the people aboard were brought out of stasis. A error with the systems caused a meltdown in the ships reactor and the ship began to emit Radiation at a terrifying rate.
All crew that could quickly boarded whatever piece of metal that could take them off of the sleeper ship did so. Approximately 79% of the people either didn't make it out or chose the wrong piece of metal and ended up dying in Space, a sun or hitting something and being crunched up. And so the people of Heritage search Sirius, looking for a home before their Heritage truly dies out.
OORP:
Who are we: A bunch of rag tag people from a destroyed and missing Sleeper ship that was made and left right after the fall of the last of the Alliance.
What do we do: We are searching for a new Home in Sirius, somewhere where we can stay safe and sleep soundly.
What do we do in space: We trade mostly, gathering funds so that we may be able to pay for a new home.
Zone of Influence: Anywhere that we aren't going to be shot at for being there.
What we use: Whatever isn't going to get us shot at.

No, what I'm saying is that what you described is the definition of Zoners. The difference is marginal in my opinion. At least in the style of play you're proposing. I imagine that quite a few entities you encounter are not going to believe the story and will treat you as Zoners regardless.
i see aliens when i hear about radiation outbreak, in a ship that is in somekind of a lockdown, with the error, but is sure sounds nice, id like to run with it:)
To be frank one of the main reasons I thought of this faction is because there is hardly any games or movies that include the "backwater" locations of the world. I'm South African so i've noticed it. Anyway. Just think how funny it would be to have a some Afrikaans or Zulu dude Rp with you.
I remember playing Far cry 2 and hearing the Afrikaans guys in there made me laugh like hell.
The amount of new sleeper ships that come up is staggering. It's overused, and not everyone can make a sleeper ship. Let's not use the same tired "coming from new sleeper ship" thing again, eh?
