I am starting a character that is going to be a Coalition based revolution character, I have written up a little for storyline and just posted an intro and plan to get the ship going and flying by the end of the weekend. I was wondering what the Admin standpoint is on Coalition charavcers these days, as it used to be an open ID sold on FP1 in Omega 7 if I remember right, and now that the SCRA has become an official faction and its been made to be a manual change rep and all I am trying to figure out how to make this work.

As the character I am planning is to be from Gallia, it wil have no knowledge of the SCRA, and therefore have no need for the Rep, I'm looking at so far being a former navy pilot brougt up to get into a position to do just as he did and steal a warship. Use that warship to gather supplies, earn money, and start supplying the future of the Revolution.

I will after paying the initial price of the Gunboat, outfitted nominally (not max of best stuff) transfer all extra money back to my trader and it will have to scavange or gather its own loot and supplies on its own from that point. I'm looking at a GRN Gunboat at the moment, an old ready to decomission and gets spirited away gunboat, hence the nominal equipment rather then latest weaponry (Basic GB guns, maybe a couple empty slots even) and give the character a chance, but not an easy go of it. I will not send it extra cash, for any reason.

I will keep an active log for each time I fly in it and post them in the Bios under the http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97653 thread I have already started and will update as I use the ship.

I'm not after a lot, just a chance to play something a little different, that has been available in the past but has changed barring my use.

I've played a solitary Coalition guy in he past and had great success and fun RPing with the random passerby that happens to actually scan and read my ID. I look forward to hopefully being able to do so again.

I am keeping in mind that most people have only heard barest rumor of the Coalition, and horror stories of the past, but have never really met them themselves, so when they meet me it can make for interesting interactions.

Looking into returning, maybe.

A great idea I love it, but I don't think the admins will approve SRP.

by SRP I take it you mean single RP no? Well I will assume that in this response.

From SRP we have gotten the SCRA, Harvesters, and Keepers. These all started with one guy flying doing a new RP idea, that happened to catch on.

As for the Terrorist ID as well it is completly SRP and only given out in cases where people actually live up to the RP and ask.

I'm not positive they will allow it, but I'll be kinda surprised if they don't, I mean even if I get it and don't use it as often as I expect to, I mean what does it hurt?

Me have fun, in my own quirky way and it also opens a whole new avenue for RP and the rest for everyone. It might even one day become he next catchy faction. Who can say unless it gets a chance right?

Also, I'm wondering after looking again, should I go for the Council ship or stick with GRN? Any suggestions welcome

I'm not saying you shouldn't try, I am all for it, if you'll never try you'll never get. But simply from -my- understanding admins don't approve SRPs (Special Role Playing), only sometimes to official factions (take the +LE+ Redemption as example).
SRP forum wasn't only for Terrorist IDs, there was also Researcher IDs approving for corvo i.e and many other small things that came under that umbrellla, now if you want to SRP, it's mostly done using a good ID and ooRP blessing of the official faction, so if you can settle down on freelancer ID for example, and GRN| give you ooRP approval for their GB, you can make this idea work.

Anyhoo, just sit tight for a spell as SRP's are closed across the board for the time being. Don't know when they will reopen, but keep it warm on the back burner to be safe

so if I can get the Official Faction to 'Ok' it so to speak tho I should be able to manage it for the different parts of my ideas?

SCRA for ID, if indeed I go under that ID, and the GRN for the ship if I use that ship, they both say ok, then do I still need the SRP ok from forums?

Since I can't get the SRP side that is. Hope that makes as much sense out of my head as it does in it. HA HA HA

And I'm back, and ready to have some interesting chatter, so don't be afraid to say hi if you see one of my ships!!! Thats to everyone!

You can get the ID (I think anyway) with the blessing of SCRA, but there is different problem, your ID must be a cell that allows you to have GRN technology.
EDIT: So what I am saying, you can get SRP (short of) using the rules and the options that the correct system allows you, using ooRP permissions (or inRP ones).
