With the right materials, I 'should' be able to reconstruct the Scorpoin's main hull, minus the central hub, though it will have no power to speak of.
D'Inverno gave me detailed files on the cell duplication process but the basics are as follows:
It is basically the next step of Stem Cell regeneration programs, "Nomad Cell Regeneration"... Using the organic wreckage of the Scorpion, I will first halt its degeneration process by encasing it in Liquid Cardimine. Using a rare 'Nomad Power Core,' or similar power source, integrated into a generator connected directly to the partal hull, the cells of the Scorpion will be 'stimulated' to regrow. To assist in the regrowth process, a very light alloy frame is being constructed at this very moment, to guide the regeneration.
The frame is but the simple part. I will shortly be sending transmissions to The Inner Project to have the rare Liquid Cardimine delivered to the RR Flag Ship, which is currently on its way to to outer rim of Omicron Theta. If I cannot find one of these 'explorers' D'Inverno mentioned to have one of these Power Cores, I will task Rorry to go and retrieve one. His mind see's no obstacles...
Once a Nomad power source is found, EXTREME measures must be taken to avoid direct or even proximity contact with it. It is said only madness comes from those who are to close.
ponders I recently made purchase of two Derelict Nomad Artifacts, I was first under the impression that these would suffice as the Power Cell for the regrowth process. Sadly after study I found that these 'Derelicts' have next to ZERO power left in them. It would take roughly 20 of these Derelicts, due to their very faint production of power, to produce the power that one full Nomad Power Cell would give...
I have come to the realization that obtaining 20 Derelicts may take ages; scouring over the vastness of space and through war torn regions, picking apart the ruins of Nomad wrecks no longer linked to the Mindshare...
As I just said, finalization for acquiring the Liquid Cardimine is underway. I must hurry, the Scorpion wing will not last forever...
The Liquid Cardimine has been delivered and the Scorpion wreck hull placed inside. As suspected, the hull has ceased to degenerate. Giving me time to begin my search for the Nomad Power Cell. As an alternative, I will begin to collect Derelicts until enough have been gathered to imitate the energy of the Power Cell. Studies have confirmed that the required number of Nomad Derelicts is right at 20. A task very daunting.... But one I must begin.
For now the hull is stable...
Time to begin a thorough search of someone who may know who to implement a human control center to the to-be-completed ship.
More Derelicts have been delivered by various Freelancers and Researchers, bringing the count to 10 now. The slight energy readings have increased. Confirming my theory that these Derelicts do contain minimal traces of power, it is actually the reason of their existence still. If the energy fades, the Derelict will degenerate with it. Though this collection process takes time, Rorry's financial backing will keep the search ever vigilant.
For now the wreck is stable within the Liquid Cardimine. It shows no more signs of deterioration.
Advancement in this process is slow, but moving steadily non-the-less.
My brother is dead.... searches for words He... Was a great friend. He has left me with many things... His ship granted to him by the Legion, "Rage," is now under my control.... And... What is to become of my research? It was his last true request. I must... Finish it. For John... for my brother...
Now for the most unstable part of the operation, the regrowth process...
I begin tonight, the wing will be brought into proximity of the derelicts, who's combined energy 'should' be enough to jump start the healing process...
Today marks the complete regeneration of the Scorpions hull, the Derelicts in conjunction with the Liquid Cardimine worked! The liquid is the perfect environment for the living hull to regrow within, and the remnants of energy in the Derelicts was enough to jump-start the process.
My findings amaze even me, the similarity of the process to the common Stem Cell Program is mind boggling.
It is now my belief that these alien vessels are "created" in a similar fashion as all mammals. Just as a human fetus is nurtured in it's mothers womb, these vessels start off as a single cell submerged in a liquid similar to, or even in, Liquid Cardimine. And just as an unborn child feeds off it's mothers energy, so, does it seem, that these "young" vessels do the same off of their alien energy sources.
With they help of my crew, a human control center has been rigged in place of the central hub that is found on all Das Wilde scorpions. Though as of now the diversity of the two technologies, Human and Nomad, is far to distant apart to send or receive information. A cognitive mind must be integrated into the hull. Just as a Nomad mind once directed this vessel, now one of human nature must be set in place, to act as the link between the human commands from the cockpit to the body of the vessel...
After close inspection, it is found that the Nomadic central hub communications is completely offline, this vessel has no contact with Das Wilde. It is ready for human integration; I have but to find an expert in the field. It seems I already have a probably candidate... We meet today...
John lives. Though I am amazed at his ability to circumvent death, I am suspicious at his true intentions as of late... Where was he all this time? What is with the visual evidence of his death? Did he fake it all? If so what for?... These are questions that linger in my mind, but there is work to do.
