The Independent Communist Miners' Guild was formed in 806 A.S. by Roger Sterling and Mack Holt. Teachings such as Egalitarianism and traditional Marxism helped form the way that the ICMG looked at the vast universe around them. The ICMG was formed on some of the basic communist teachings, such as equality for all, no matter what their gender, age, or race. As well, the belief that social classes are tools used to keep progress slow and minimal for the general populace was an important influence upon the group. As such, every single citizen of the ICMG is treated equally and fairly, no matter what.
Some do not approve of their “radical” beliefs, and so the ICMG stationed themselves at the outer reaches of Sirius, setting up their headquarters on Dounby Station in the system known as “Orkney.” However, to not be bound to a single location, the ICMG have acquired several capital ships through various means, and converted them into colony ships ― hybrid civilian population/industrial manufacturing centers and deep-space explorations vessels that have made the ICMG what it is. In the twelve years since their founding, the ICMG has entirely shifted their base of operations from Dounby to their colony ships.
Humble Beginnings
Mack Holt and Roger Sterling came upon the ideas of Communism while traveling together in the most remote and unexplored Omega systems. When the duo entered a dense asteroid fields, they received a continual loop of a strong, yet low-quality transmission. They tracked it, and as they approached the source, the transmission grew more understandable. They found the source to be a large asteroid, with a metal plate bearing a red sickle and hammer fastened to it. The two curiously listened to the transmission more than once. It relayed to them the teachings of communism ― a perfect, utopian way to conduct a society, in which everyone was equal, and everyone was welcome.
Mack and Roger discussed the idea of a perfect, utopian communist mining society. They agreed it was a good idea and set out to inform their closest friends of their plan. Quickly, the small group grew as miners, workers, pilots, engineers, and people of every conceivable trade flocked to the banner of the rising Guild.
The ICMG quickly gathered popularity and its population grew ― their mining became streamlined and they had made enough profit, working together as equals, to buy their first colony ship, the Lazurite. The majority of the populace banded together and moved themselves onboard the aging Zephyr, and after it had been restored to a good-as-new condition, they began to buy fighters, bombers and even some gunboats. They were all trained how to fight and fly most of the ships that were now in their hands.
Now, truly a force to be reckoned with, the once-humble group of idealistic miners, desperate civilians, and shady characters had banded together under one common, glorious banner, and had become a major player in the galaxy. And thus, the ICMG was born.
Ranks
The ICMG, once a flourishing movement throughout Sirius, has experienced a resurgence in recent years; the workers have once again united to realize their utopian future. Every comrade of the Guild's has a different set of tasks that the community has trusted them with, according to their skills and desires. Though everyone is equal in the ICMG, some do, by way of great abilities to lead and inspire others to follow their example, have privileges and responsibilities that are easily termed as their ranks. Comrades that so desire can work actively to be entrusted with greater responsibilities to their commune, and through hard work, dedication, and sheer force of will on the parts of everyone, all have their sincere efforts rewarded generously.

Ships
The ICMG uses many ships in their endeavors. They usually stick to IMG and Civilian ships except for occasional oddities.
ICMG vessels can be easily identified by their unique ship identification markers. All members are required to have a ship licence (demarcated by an SL tag) which has been authorised by a Director. However, ICMG have also authorised 4 prototype mining drone vehicles (demarcated by DV tags) which can be operated either by their rudimentary built-in AI, or controlled remotely by various apprentices on nearby ICMG facilities; this is part of their training.
Defense Division
These craft are the guardians of the ICMG's mining operations and Colony ships. When the call to arms is sounded, these are the craft that answer.

Heroes of the Proletariat
History calls the greatest, those who have ennobled themselves by working for the common good. Let then these Men and Women be known as heroes of the people. Let them be known as icons, martyrs and above all, comrades, of our most righteous virtues. This is the greatest honor which can be bestowed, and is done so posthumously.
