This is a little out-of-RP notice for [LN] members
As you guys know, the LN high command folks have just assigned you all some ranks. Now... I'm aware you might not all be happy with this, although we've attempted to assign you ranks which suit you... We took the following into consideration:
Past service and experience.
Ability to command, or follow orders.
How much responsibility you want to take.
The in-rp attitude of your character.
That list isn't complete, but hopefully it gives you an idea of how we generated that roster.
In short, I just want to tell you all what those ranks mean. I don't mean in roleplay terms, but rather, personally.
Your rank does NOT mean mean you are a better or more important person, out of roleplay, than someone of a lower rank than yourself. It does not mean you have the ability to use that rank to win a disagreement. "Shut up, ensign, I'm a Lt. Commander" is never an acceptable way of interacting with someone else who is in the faction in an oorp setting.
Every one of you has the right to be able to criticise our actions as high command, so long as you do so in a constructive, polite and generally cool manner. We prefer to be asked questions... We like people to know why we've done something... And we will treat you in the same way. If you've done something which is not acceptable, or causes a problem, then we'll take the issue directly to you. Solving problems becomes much easier when there is clear and direct dialogue between people.
If you shove your rank in someone else's face, and use it to lord over them, then the high command will take that rank from you and beat you with it.
The Liberty Navy belongs to it's playerbase. From the most experienced Admiral to the freshest faced ensign. Everyone within the navy has a voice and all, as people out-of-roleplay, are equal. Each member's input and participation is valued and considered worthy, provided they treat one another with respect and decency.
If you're not happy about your rank, or the ranking struture in general, then please talk to me or any other high command member, and we'll do our best to accomodate you.
Of course, in roleplay, things are a little different.;)
