personally, i am not really happy when a corsair comes to the corsair bounty board to claim a bounty on a hessian/outcast regular fighter. that should be their duty and not a question of credits. if it is a special target, that deserves a reward, sure. but if corsairs suddenly started claiming on their 'arch-enemies', it puts the council representatives into a position when 90% of their ingame time is spent by grinding, to make sure the banks always have money to pay with.

What Vlko said can probably be said by any faction which runs a bounty board.
Perhaps you might like to make a faction with Mercenary IDs and Corsair IFFs. If you roleplay it well, you could have a faction which, while not being true Corsairs, are mercenaries heavily affiliated with the Corsair empire.

Why not do it?

There are many interpretations of Corsair "insert appropriate word(s) here". How you play it is up to you. If you make a group which wants to gain money by defending the Corsair borders and killing enemies of the Corsairs why not?

But, forget about using BHG equipment, if you were thinking down that line.

No matter how good RP you write, you'll find that sair guard ID'd ships will NOT be paid by the Corsair empire for killing Outcasts and the ilk, and this will most likely get the other part (merc ID) of the group to not be admitted those same bounties.

And anyway, bounty hunting in corsair caps? Um, you'd have a hell of a time with that (>_>)

What you CAN do is setup a merc only faction, merc ID, corsair IFF, use only what you're permitted (no caps whatsoever, maybe the odd gunboat if you can get your hands on one) and that's basically it.

Only my two cents.

Edit: Oh and yes, next time, please do write your idea in the first post instead of the title, for some people it's hard to read due to window sizes/resolutions/whatnot.
