After a the short spin with my new second hand ship I returned to Manhattan. Johnathan rented some small apartment. It was somewhere high above the busy streets of Manhattan. It was a little old and needed some cleaning. There wasn't much furniture, just some of the standard stuff. A small living room with a kitchen in it, a bedroom and a tiny bathroom.
When I returned home I laid down on the cough with my legs over the side, I stared at the ceiling then took my new ID card out of my pocket. I stared at it. 'Nikki Carr' I didn't know what to think of it. I shook my head and threw the card on the table that stood in the middle of the living room. I let my head rest on my arms as I stared at the ceiling. "Free at last, just some patience and then everything will be back to normal."
"I will just let the Navy deal with this, get myself a job and try to make time go as fast as possible."
"Keeping myself busy should be the way to go." I looked up at a few books that were laying on the table. "And in the times I don't have work, I'll just do some reading."
"Maybe I should get a few more books, I seriously have no idea how long this will last, me being Nikki."
I got up from the couch feeling quite cheerful, I thought the Navy would deal with this matter about my father swiftly. They know where he is, how he looks like his name and I guess they have access to his files. I tried to not worry to much.
To get some proper job I thought I would just go and fly around a little to see if there are any jobs that are offered that I could take, since I like flying in space. As long as it doesn't involve to much shooting. I launched my ship and took a few spins around Manhattan orbit. Quite a busy place compared to the places I used to come. I'm sure some escorting job should do. Scouting that is. Just relay the information to the convoys and let their escorts deal with the 'hostile' targets.
I went wondering around Liberty a bit, ending up in California where I saw some Hellfire vessels. I heard a few rumors about them, didn't really know what to think of them. "Everybody his own cause I guess." After some time I got into a chat with one of them calling himself Sam. He seemed to be kind, eager to spread the HF's ideas about Liberty I guess. After some time chatting he asked if I would like to get a drink. At first I wasn't too sure but he seemed alright.
We flew to Freeport 1 and headed to some little quite busy place and had a drink. The waitress was rather annoying sort of ruining my mood and that of Sam's I guess. Anyway we had a nice chat about what the Hellfires stood for. I didn't really tell him anything about me, I was just that one more civilian of Liberty. After the drink we both undocked from the Freeport.
Outside Johnathan was waiting. He looked rather angry and it wasn't just the looks. He was pretty angry at me, he said I was crazy to just go and hang out with some 'terrorist'. Especially since I was under the protection of the Navy. I told him nothing happened, Johnathan however didn't listen. He said I was crazy that now that I was 'saved' from the smuggling work to directly go and 'sleep' with some terrorist. I got mad, him telling me I 'slept' with some guy I don't even know, I just met him and we had a drink nothing more. I found Johnathan too caring, however he held ground and just said I was crazy to take this move. I sighed and went back to Liberty giving Sam a short goodbye.
I told Johnathan to be a bit less onto me. I got privacy too you know. It didn't really look like he cared about it. He took his new 'job' very serious and kept a close eye on me. As angry as I was at him I shut up. Went to Manhattan grabbed a book and started reading as my ship was hanging close to Trenton. Johnathan told me he didn't care what I did, although he told me to watch what I did and to consider if it was smart yes or no. I couldn't care less really. As I was reading he past by as he was patrolling, each time I saw him look at me. I didn't want to make him more upset though. I would just go and sit here, doing nothing but reading.
A new day as Nikki. I laid in my bed opening my eyes, staring at the ceiling. I actually had quite a good night sleep. My back a bit stiff but it's not that bad. "Time to go and find some proper work today and get something to do. Doing nothing feels just too useless." I got all cleaned up and dressed up. Straight in the flight suit. Planning to take a long flight today. I was hoping to get some decent 'scouting' job here in Liberty. Not really planning to get out of Liberty, since Johnathan would just get mad at me, I guess.
Once in space I checked up with some transports, however no one needed a escort. I was a bit disappointed by it. I was loitering in front of Manhattan hoping to get a job from people that passed by. But then out of all things that I wanted to see passing, it was Mason Ralusch that past me.
Mason Ralusch is a Navy officer that caught me several times while I was doing my job. He never arrested me though. He was different from many other officers.
Once I had this job to deliver some special rocks, they looked like normal rocks, sometimes they glowed a little and they had these odd signs, I didn't really care much. Jacob said they weren't illegal and that I could just take my time to deliver them to a station in Okinawa. I took my time and chatted a little with Connie outside Manhattan, me not being aware of these rocks actually being 'Alien artifacts'. I was enjoying the little chatting with Connie and other pilots.
Then officer Mason Ralusch showed up. He noticed my cargo and asked me to follow him somewhere quiet. People made some funny jokes as Mason and me took off. I didn't really listen to them, neither did I know the reason why this officer wanted to speak to me somewhere quiet.
When we reached some quiet place where no one could hear or see us, there he started to ask questions to me if I knew what these 'rocks' were, where I was going, who I worked for... All sorts of questions. At first I was really following him until he said they were 'Alien Artifacts'. I was convinced they weren't, Jacob said they weren't, why would Jacob lie about it?
At first I was afraid I would get arrested. I mean smuggling isn't taken lightly around here in Liberty. However Mason told me he wasn't going to arrest me, he actually cared and was willing to let me go. I had to follow him, I said these needed to go to Kusari, nothing more. I barely told Mason anything about who I worked for. Although I did tell him I did it to repay my debts to see my father back. His response "As far as I know they could be lying just to make you work for them as a slave." I didn't believe him. I was going to see my father back! I would work as hard as I could to see him, it would be the only way out of this mess for him and me.
He told me to follow him, he would lead me out of Liberty safely. But he did say he didn't want to see me again with any sort of illegal goods. I was already way too happy he let me in peace though although I was wondering why he was doing it. If he was a real officer he would have arrested me straight away. Mason, Mason was different.
As we reached the Liberty border with Kusari I expected him to leave. He didn't, we both kept on flying towards Kusari, even in Kusari and beyond it's borders on the way to Okinawa. I somehow admired this officer, he made me feel different inside of me. I didn't really know how to name my feeling.
He tried to convince me my dad was a lost cause, I didn't believe him however. He was trying to play with my feeling, I wouldn't let him. I finishes this delivery, never told anyone about me seeing Mason though.
This wasn't the only encounter with Mason, there were more. He caught me quite a few times. Always giving me another chance for some reason, I didn't know why. After each encounter I started to admire him more and more. Although I still didn't know where to place my feelings each time I saw him and heard him talk quietly and calm towards me.
Now that officer I had this feeling for passed me by one inch, him not knowing it was me Carrie. He was one of the few people that cared about me... erm Carrie. I couldn't keep my feelings in check when this Mason passed me. I followed him, how stupid could I be?
As I followed Mason around, I was trying to keep some distance to not get noticed. Suddenly he stopped and turned around coming towards me. I didn't know what to do at that moment. I tried to ignore him. "Are you following me miss?" he asked with a calm voice. I paniced, not knowing what to answer him. "eh.. n- no sir." I replied a bit stupid, faceplaming in my mind. Of course he knew I was but what should I tell him? "I'm just uh... flying" I tried to sound convincing however it wasn't really working. Would he have recognized my voice?
He looked pretty calm but there was something to him, he looked 'depressed'? We got to talk a bit more to each other in some time. And before I knew it he was talking about me. I asked him some question what he thought about her (me), to see how he felt about me. He seemed to be worried about me, that this girl (me) could be in trouble, Mason felt like he should help her. It was a strange situation. He was looking for this girl who was in trouble yet she was sitting right in front of him. I was sitting right in front of him. Asking questions about myself.
"I have a few leads I could pick up on and look for her, to see if I can help her" he said. I was stunned at that moment. I wanted to tell him it was me he was looking for but I remembered what Johnathan said. "Do -not- tell anyone that you are Carrie, for your own safety" oh man, what was I supposed to do. I offered to help Mason with his search for this girl (me). He didn't like the idea, he didn't want to get me in trouble. He said it could become really dangerous, "Especialy for a girl like you." Great, but no way I was going to let him search for myself, maybe I could keep him from doing something stupid, I don't know, perhaps. I insisted in going with him to search for this girl. "Fine, but promise you don't do something stupid and it -will- be dangerous."
After some time flying together we reached Zone 21. I saw the awesome amount of Mines in the distance, a bit hesitating to follow Mason in. He didn't seem to mind having a 'civilian' follow him into Zone 21. We flew through the entrance. I don't know how he managed to not get problems with this but it seemed alright. We kept on going, then reached a gate and jumped through. I was pretty excited about this. This guy is doing all this for me? It's actually stupid, I should tell him I'm Carrie and that this is just a cover name. I couldn't say it, I didn't feel as Carrie anymore. She was the one that worked for that Jacob, the one that did some stupid jobs, the one where this Mason is lo-... looking for.
I kept on wondering to myself if I should tell him yes or no, as we kept on going we reached a jump hole. "becareful now, it might become hot on the otherside and beyond" I thought I was prepared for everything. On the otherside we flew through this rocky field, the rocks looked quite funny. If you let your imagination run freely you could see all these funny things in them. That one over there looked like a 'Teddy bear'. I giggled slightly to myself not paying attention to much then these funny rocks. "Becareful now." Mason said quietly, he barely said it or we heard a transmission from some distance. "We have intruders" What the hell was this, I mean who? Mason told me to hurry and stay close. We reached a jump hole and jumped through.
On the otherside we met some strange ship, I don't really know what they were. Nothing like human vessels. Mason told me to get to the Freeport up ahead as fast as I could. So I did, as I looked back I saw him struggle for sometime. When I approached the Freeport Mason told me he finely broke free. "Told you it would be dangerous." He said shortly. We re-equipped on the Freeport quickly. Mason looked in a rush for some reason, well I guess he had his reasons. It was dangerous here and he was looking for me. What am I even doing? Because of me he's putting himself and me into this danger. I mean I'm putting myself and him into danger. I still couldn't get myself to tell him I was Carrie.
We moved on towards another jump hole, leading to the so called Omicron Kappa system. We rushed through it evading anything that came within scanner range. Then reached Omicron Gamma. "In Gamma we might have a chance to spot her." Mason said, he seemed to figured it out because of all the artifact smuggling. Funniest thing is I didn't even know they came from here. Well almost all seemed to come from this place, planet Crete.
We approached the planet so that Mason could check on ships going to and coming from Crete. "Watch your back and remain quiet, we don't want to alert anyone" he mentioned as he seemed rather busy with the scanning. It didn't take long however or some Corsair patrols spotted us. Mason told me to run. It all felt unreal, I followed Mason as he set course for Omicron Theta, away from the Corsair patrols which gave up their pursuit quite quickly. When I saw them turn around I felt relieved, yet I still couldn't get myself to tell Mason it was me he was looking for. I don't know what kept me from saying it. I mean, he's also a officer, what could be wrong about telling a officer the navy is watching me? sort of watching me that is.
I kept wondering and questioning myself as we both flew towards the Freeport. Mason looked quite disappointed that he didn't see 'Carrie'. Fighting against myself wasn't working out well either. He said he had some more leads he could check on to see if he could find Carrie. I think he knew all too well none of his leads would actually lead to something. I mean looking for one 'mysterious' girl in the middle of Sirius, one that smuggles. I sighed to myself as the thoughts kept running around my mind, they made me crazy.
Mason seemed to care so much about Carrie, about me. Running across Sirius to find this girl, to find me. It's mission impossible. I was running out of reason not to tell him. If I kept my mouth I would just make him go crazy to and put him into danger. He didn't look to good as the leads he thought might be worth it all led to nothing.
We were now flying through Kusari, I was still fighting myself if I should I shouldn't tell Mason about me. If I told him now he would be pissed, I mean I put us both through this. Putting us both into these dangers for nothing, if I told him before we wouldn't have had to deal with these strange ships, Orders, Corsairs and so on...
Mason ran out of leads of where to search for Carrie. He looked broken, as if he felt really bad he couldn't do anything. Yet I was keeping myself from giving him his answer. It was hurting myself and him. I couldn't keep myself from saying it anymore. I couldn't see Mason be like this. Mason the one that gave me this weird feeling inside me, when I was around him. Not being able to identify the feeling.
We flew through Okinawa on the last lead Mason had. I hated this place. It remined me of what happened on the base, were that deal became comepletly messed up. I wanted to run away right now. Then we approched the could where Johnathan and the NG pilot Jack Jackson caught me. I didn't want to go in there. If my dad got hurt because I went missing this place, then this place would be the cause of it. This place will then be the reason of why my dad... died? Dad is not dead!? right?
My mind was completly messed up. I didn't enter the cloud. Mason gave me a surprised look. "You're not following anymore? Are you alright"
I nodded in response. "I just erm.. I just don't want to go in there." "Maybe you're right, nothing we can find here about her." "hmmhm... o- okay."
I finely broke, broke out in tears right in front of him as we flew through Kusari space back to Liberty. "M- Mason I have something to tell you" he sighed in response asking me what I had to tell him. I was trying to keep my emotions in check but I simply couldn't. I lied to him just to get to know what he felt for me. Mason remained calm.
"What do you have to tell me, Nikki?" "I.. I am Carrie." it remained silent for a short moment. "Do you think this is a game?! You got what you want? Making me look like a idiot?" "N- No.. its not like that, I didn't mean to..." "Lets get back to Liberty first and calm down" "I.. I'm r- really sorry a- about this, Mason"
Mason sighed again "No need to apologize I guess, no need to say anything right now." "I..eh.." "Just be quiet for now."
We continued to fly towards Liberty space. I tried to slowly calming down, thinking to myself how stupid I was. Best thing I could do is probably just tell him everything. About Johnathan and that they arrested me and gave me a new identity, incase Jacob and his men would come and search for me.
Some time later after Carrie (Nikki) returned at Liberty. Carrie told Mason Johnathan was involved in it. Mason took the opportunity to get to know what exactly was going on. He talked to Johnathan and figured what exactly happened. He offered Johnathan a helping hand. Mason asked if Carrie could come to Pittsburgh. Johnathan was waiting there.
Carrie approached the planet and saw Mason and Johnathan. She gave both a short greeting. “erm.. hey.” They both looked quite sincere at Carrie. “So eh… w- what’s this about?”
Mason looked shortly at Johnathan, waiting for him to let him talk. Johnathan gave a confirming nod to Mason.
“Carrie, Johnathan and me talked and we decided that we will now work together on this, I will be helping Johnathan for your own safety, so that we can insure that better.” “So erm… You will now be looking after me too?” Carrie asked Mason. “Sort of” Mason replied
Carrie was still struggling with her feeling she had when she was near Mason. She didn’t know where to place them. And now Mason would around her than ever before. ‘Is this a good or bad thing?’ Carrie thought to herself quietly.
Mason continued. “I know a place where you can live without problems, a safe place for you.”
Johnathan let Mason do the talking as he sat in the background with his ship.
Mason explained Carrie a few more things of how things would go in the future and how they would deal with it. Carrie just nodded confirming as she listened, however she didn’t know if these new developments were going to be, if they were good or bad. Mason took Carrie with him to planet Denver in Colorado. He brought her to a house. A house that looked like one ordinary house just like all the others. There wasn’t a lot in the house just all the basic needs. Up-stairs Mason showed Carrie her room and showed her the rest of the house. It was a house Mason used to use, he didn’t come here too often anymore though. Carrie asked Mason if he had any books here. Since Carrie liked reading so much. Mason said he had books but told Carrie she wouldn’t really like any of them. He was right. As he opened a closet a full stack of books appeared. About life physiology and all assorted stuff. Carrie let a short sigh escape her as she looked up to the books. Wondering to herself how she would make the time go faster. There wasn’t a television either, nowhere in the house.
Carrie and Mason went out to eat somewhere at some Italian kind of place. They talked some, no real subject they discussed. Carrie just accepted what she had now. Finely a quiet place where she could be alone, where no one would be bothering her.
Time passed by. Mason gave Carrie a visit every now and then, telling Carrie she could always contact him if she needed him. Mason also asked Aleesha Cooper another Navy pilot that he knew well to look after Carrie in the times that he couldn’t watch over her. Carrie didn’t mind it at first until that one night…
Carrie was still struggling to get proper sleep. Jacob was spinning around in her head as were the thoughts of her father. When she did catch some sleep it wasn’t special if she would wake up in less than a hour again. This night was just like all the others. Carrie laid in her bed staring to the ceiling in the dark room. A small street light was the only light that illuminated the room faintly. Carrie got up and sat on the side of her bed. As she tried to push away the last nightmare she had in her head. Then got up and walked out of the room, walking down the stairs sleepdrunk. She didn’t really notice anything as she walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water. As she walked out of the kitchen she noticed two figures in the living room.
Mason being one of the figures as he sat with his back towards Carrie on the bench. The other figure was doing some strange moves in front of Mason. The figure lend forward and kissed Mason. It was Aleesha that kissed Mason. Carrie was staring at the two and let the glass of water fall out of her hand by accident. She shocked of it herself. ‘Mason does this when I’m upstairs sleeping?!’ the thought ran through Carries head. Mason and Aleesha both looked up upon hearing the sound of the glass shattering on the floor. Carrie ran upstairs and into her room. She felt distraught but didn’t even know to tell herself why she felt like this. She wanted to be alone.
Mason walked upstairs to check what damage was done. He remained calm as he talked to the closed door. Carrie sat on the bed hugging herself, as she had her head buried against her legs. Weeping quietly. “Go away” was her reaction upon hearing Masons muffed voice through the door. Carrie kept repeating it. Carrie didn’t let Mason in and told him there was nothing to talk about just that he had to leave.
[…]
Eventually Mason got to explain it to Carrie what exactly happened there that night. It was something innocent. Life continued for Carrie. She however often was just alone with her thoughts. Mason visited her only a very few times. She used to get into her ship and just fly to a remote location and sit there with a book in her hands, getting her mind drawn away in the story of the book. The DSE depots in the eastern part of New York was one of her favorite locations. Just automated defenses and almost no traffic. She could spend hours here. Sometimes just staring at Manhattan as it floated through space slowly spinning around in the distance.
When she didn’t feel like flying she also often went out for a walk. Just taking a hike on Denver, walking through nature made her feel alive at least.
Eventually Carrie took back her old identity, however she was dealing with nightmares from Jacob and the smuggling days, having Mason popup in her dream more often. The last encounter Carrie had with Mason she took the wrong way. They had a fight, Carrie didn't want to see him anymore for a while. She tried to evade sleeping, hoping not to dream. This at a expense of her health. She started taking drugs against sleeping, without her knowing these were adictive.
Her health deteriorating as she used the drugs longer and more often. In this state she ran into Sirlagsalot. He seemed to be a bit worried about her health, Carrie denied everything and said she was alright and didn't need anyones help.
As the drugs became more part of Carries life she searched for new sources to get them. She found a smuggler who said he could get them rather cheap and in quite some quantities too. Carrie was supposed to meet him on Rochester. The dealer was late and Carrie was getting nervous. A girl came sitting next to her in the bar. Alexis Glover. She said she had the stuff Carrie was looking for. Carrie with some hesitation finely followed her. Once at the room of Alexis, the was closed and locked.
Carrie was forced to perform acts she didn't want to do. She resisted, wanting to get out, not wanting the pills anymore either. Alexis didn't let her go. Carrie was help 'kidnapped' on Alexis her Liberty Rogue Destroyer. Carrie was eager to get out and tried everything. She managed to get a message out to Aleesha Cooper, saying she was going to try and break out. However this attempt failed. Literally Backfiring, Alexis shot Carrie in her leg and saw the messages that were send to Aleesha. Alexis contacted Aleesha herself for a meeting.
Aleesha, Alexis and Carrie met in the bar of Rochester. Carrie having a hard time walking because of the gunshot wound. At the end of the conversation it resulted into Alexis agreeing with Aleesha for a exchange. Carrie would be exchanged for Aleesha. Aleesha handed all her personal belongings to Carrie and told her to take the Guardian away from Rochester. Carrie left her Griffin behind.
Alexis Glover mentioned Mason Ralusch, what she told about him during the kidnapping made Carrie believe he could be involved, hating him even more. But she wasn't sure about it. As soon as she got the Guardian she ran to Manhattan, sitting in orbit thinking. People were confused why Carrie had the Guardian and asked questions, Carrie told some about Aleesha giving people more questions. Felicia Drums got involved too, she used Carries condition to pull off some valuable information about Aleesha. Carrie felt backstabbed by Felicia and didn't know who she could trust anymore.
Carrie ran to the safehouse of Mason on Denver, packed her stuff and left a note for Mason on the table saying she was leaving. Carrie ran away from Liberty, looking for someone she might trust. Terrance Chamberlain popped up in Carries mind. He caught her once with Artifacts, he didn't seem to have any bad intentions what so ever. After some searching Carrie managed to get a hold of him. She stayed at Freeport 1 for most of the time while Aleesha was still with Alexis.
Alexis Glover managed to get back into contact Carrie, telling her she would have to repay for the things she did. This include telling the Liberty Navy about the kidnapping. Carrie felt like she didn't have a choice then to head back to Alexis to make up, for Aleesha's sake. Alexis gave her the Greyhound to have Carrie make her job do a little better.
Freeport 11 was pretty calm, even though all the things that happened outside it were quite intense. The Order and BHG engagements around here looked so chaotic. All that because of some 'super weapons' or something. The Guardian was standing in the Hangar quite nicely. It looked dirty though. Never actually cleaned it after I started to fly it. "She almost starts to feel like my own." Carrie sighed as she walked towards her room. The Order arranged it for her. "I can't believe I'm actually going to work with the Order." She mumbled a bit on until she got to the room. The room looking nice and clean. Finely something where I could rest properly. Locking the door after she stepping in the room. Carrie laid her backpack on the table. She let a sigh of relief escape her. "These pills seem to be working less well to keep me from sleeping but I'm still taking them?" It doesn't matter actually, I don't know why but ever since I didn't use them I got sick, now I got them back and I'm feeling so much better for some reason. it doesn't say anything about that on the description. Carrie thought a little, then went to bed sleeping or not she still needed to rest.
The next day Carrie woke up, without even having had a single dream which was exceptional. She yawned a little and looked outside through a small window in the wall. Looking towards planet Tuvalu as it hangs there in space. Carrie felt rather comfortable. Just going to wait for the Order now, she thought. Carrie made herself some breakfast and finished it up in a relaxed way. It had been quite some time she has been as relaxed as she is right now. Things were finely settling down. No Jacob, No Mason, No Alexis, No Navy and whatever else there was.
When Carrie finished up her meal she packed some of her stuff back in the backpack and headed to the hangar bay where the Guardian was still standing in the corner. She stood still looking at it for a moment. "Funny" she mumbled quietly as she was reminded on how she got her hands on it. Carrie got in the Guardian laid her backpack in the back and asked permission to take off. It was shortly after granted and there she went. Carrie used to fly a lot, she loved it. Just being out there flying waving through the vacuum of space, flying close by rocks, through Nebulae. She loved it, it turned her mind sort of on the 'off' button. Thinking about nothing, being not in this world, just being no where at all.
As she was flying around Delta, keeping near the Freeport however since of the danger of Nomads. She knew those dangers, having encountered them several times lately. So while she flew she saw a incoming message.
"Afternoon Carrie. How's the rogue fighter? On a more serious note, I need to talk to you." It was Trixie Saunders.
Carrie sighed shortly as she saw the message. "About what?" she replied on Trix. "Jacob. Primarially, the fact that running away from him has bad results. I'm to assume you hold no fear for your own safety?"
Being being annoyed by the last time she encountered Trixie. Trixie was the one that worked with Jacob, straight away marked as enemy. The last encounters with Trixie also ended into a shoot out. Carrie managed to chase Trixie off twice. However in the progress Trix got wounded when some shrapnel flew through her ship and burning her arm.
"Get to the point, Trix" Carrie said with a slight annoyance in her voice "The point is, Carrie, I've been in this business for a long time. And frankly, Jacob's a scary person, Not the most complex, but brutal. I know of his type. Either way, he knows about the Devil's Unicorn arriving. We all know Concordia dosn't keep the lowest profile. You keep screwing with him? He goes after your freinds" Trix sounded very serious about it. "I'm not screwing with him... He got my dad~ and... I never intented to get arrested in the first place.
Trix told Carrie about her dad Andrew who was actually the Boss of Jacob Blair. Carrie not believing her on this part. But Trix kept making up reason for Carrie to come with her to Jacob. Reason like Shiro and Concorida getting hurt if Carrie didn't go back to Jacob. At first Carrie held her ground. "I'm not going back to Jacob!" She was almost yelling at Trix about it. Trix however kept going giving Carrie hard reasons to come with her. Carrie ended the conversation with "I'll think about it."
Carrie was confused, just as things finely looked bright. She went back to Freeport 11 to consult herself on what to do.

Title: Trix
logs: #00019
Great, just when things finely started to clear up a little. Here comes Trix barging in. Saying I'd have to go back to Jacob or people would get hurt, namely Shiro and Connie. I don't know what to think of this. If I do go with Trix back to Jacob... well I don't want to know what he's going to do to me. And Trix also mentioned that dad was the boss of Jacob. I mean what?! Impossible. If that was true all this would have never happened in the first place.
Well Trix was right about one thing. If Connie or Shiro get into trouble because of me -again-. Then it's my fault. So if Trix is telling the truth then, then if I got back to Jacob no one get hurt. Well at least not because of me.
Great....
Carrie contacted Trix again shortly after, telling her she would come with her to Jacob. Carrie wasn't looking forward to this at all. Jacob is going to be pissed at me if he sees me. I mean, I kinda screwed up the last job, then disappeared. I don't want to think about this at all. Carrie sighed deeply and set course for Minor, from there to Alaska and then to New York where Trix would be waiting. The Guardian should help me getting through Alaska again, Carrie figured.
When she was cruising through Alaska she ran into a LSF patrol. Great timing, great, great. Carrie nearly flipped. "Okay, calm down. I can do this. I can talk my way out of this." She told herself.
=LSF=Iota-1: Well, hello there. Carrie.Dababi: er... hi =LSF=Iota-1: May I know your intentions in this area? Carrie.Dababi: erm... heading back to New York actually. =LSF=Iota-1: And you came from...? Carrie.Dababi: New York? =LSF=Iota-1: And what was the reason why you have entered this area? Carrie.Dababi: to erm... visit someone. =LSF=Iota-1: Visit someone... here? =LSF=Iota-1: That's hard to believe.... =LSF=Iota-1: Who would want to meet someone in a restricted space? Carrie.Dababi: is it odd to go and see someone on Mitchell? =LSF=Iota-1: Yes, it is a restricted space after all... =LSF=Iota-1: Hold on... =LSF=Iota-1: Not so fast. Carrie.Dababi: *sighs* Carrie.Dababi: great. =LSF=Iota-1: Tell me the person you were meeting. =LSF=Iota-1: The name. Carrie.Dababi: erm.. a little occupied right now Carrie.Dababi: eh... =LSF=Iota-1: I am listening... Carrie.Dababi: Felicia Drum? =LSF=Iota-1: You gotta be kidding me. =LSF=Beta-1: A bad answer =LSF=Beta-1: Very bad answer =LSF=Iota-1: Are you looking for trouble maybe? Carrie.Dababi: not really, =LSF=Beta-1: Not really? =LSF=Beta-1: You have violated a restricted area Carrie.Dababi: eh... =LSF=Beta-1: EH?! =LSF=Beta-1: Is that all? =LSF=Iota-1: Fine... then tell me... what was the meeting about? Carrie.Dababi: it uh... was about a Navy officer, Ralusch? =LSF=Iota-1: And...? Carrie.Dababi: and? erm... well Felicia wasn't there so I'm not heading back? =LSF=Iota-1: So you admit you are working together with Felicia Drum. Carrie.Dababi: eh... no I don't =LSF=Iota-1: Then why did you wanted to meet her? Carrie.Dababi: I wanted to ask her some questions about him =LSF=Iota-1: Because...? Carrie.Dababi: because erm... officer Ralusch is missing? well erm.. not around? =LSF=Beta-1: Makes no sense Carrie.Dababi: wh.. =LSF=Beta-1: If it is missing why you would go to meet Drum? =LSF=Iota-1: And you think Felicia Drum knows where this person is? Carrie.Dababi: erm... I thought she might know. =LSF=Iota-1: So you meet her here at this place? =LSF=Beta-1: *laughs hard* =LSF=Iota-1: That makes no sense... Carrie.Dababi: well I thought she might be here... =LSF=Beta-1: You think this is highway 99 from Manhattan? Carrie.Dababi: well... erm last time I saw the LSF being after her, so I figured she could be here by now =LSF=Beta-1: Aha riight =LSF=Qoppa-1: Maybe in prison? What you thing Beta? =LSF=Beta-1: Why would it be here? Carrie.Dababi: It was just a guess. =LSF=Beta-1: No I don't think so we lost her track in Rheinland Carrie.Dababi: she's in Rheinland now? =LSF=Beta-1: I have no idea I hope is dead by now Carrie.Dababi: right. =LSF=Iota-1: Carrie Dababi... I have reports that you have attacked a LSF vessel, what do you say about this? Carrie.Dababi: erm... is there proof that supports your claim? =LSF=Iota-1: Yes... Carrie.Dababi: can~ I see it? =LSF=Qoppa-1: No, judge will see it first =LSF=Beta-1: I wouldn't care about proof after you already broke into this of limits area Carrie.Dababi: erm... Carrie.Dababi: I didn't -break- in. =LSF=Iota-1: Well? =LSF=Iota-1: What do you say to this incident Carrie.Dababi: eh... I can't remember =LSF=Iota-1: Aha... =LSF=Iota-1: What are you doing now? =LSF=Iota-1: Running? Carrie.Dababi: erm.... no? =LSF=Iota-1: What are you doing then?
Great now I'm running from the LSF. Carrie sighed deeply, checking her scanners. After some time the distance between the last LSF pilot within range became bigger. Did they give up? Carrie wondered. This is not good. Not good at all. I just made up some stupid story. Gosh... those lies I just told me will make things only worse. Carrie sighed again as she kept talking to herself for sometime. Finely managed to work her way around the LSF patols and reached the gate to New York. Luckily the codes of the Guardian were still recognized by the Gate and it opened. As she was jumping Carrie laid back her head. Thinking of what just happened and thinking about what was coming next.
Once in New York Trixe and Carrie hooked up together and Carrie followed her to Jacob. Who was on the 'Blue Ocean' Liner on Curacao. As they approached the Liner Carrie felt herself getting sick, her stomach started to fight against her. Carrie was getting extremely nervous about it. She didn't want to show it thought. Trix managed to talk the Hangar operative into letting the Guardian land, that it was a 'special package' for Jacob. When Jacob heard about their arrival he went straight to the hangar bays with a couple of guard. "That Trix sure knows what she's doing, ha-ha. Well that Carrie won't be running ever again when I'm done with her as for Andrew..." Jacob talked to himself as he walked in a rather fast phase. A grins on his face.
Carrie parked the Guardian right next to Trix's Charon. and got out of her ship, not saying a word. As she placed both her feet on the 'Blue Ocean's deck she sighed. As the memories resurfaced in her mind. She tried to keep pushing her thoughts away of how it was to see Jacob's face again. How would he react. Trix seemed rather cold and calm. She walked over to Carrie and waited with her until Jacob arrived. Both not really saying much.
Jacob arrived a few minutes later. The grins still on his face. He smiles shortly at Trix. "Jobs done, Jacob. A little later than usual after several unavoidable occurrence." Trix told Jacob "You've done well, girl. I'll make sure your payment is done as fast as possible."
Carrie only sighed, staring to the ground as she heard Jacob talk.
Jacob gestured to two of guards to handcuff Carrie. She let it all happen, not resisting for one bit.
Jacob winked at one of the guards. Upon that wink the guard tightened the handcuffs quite harshly.
Carrie making only a short quiet moan as reaction. "Sure thing, Jacob. She wasn't much trouble, really. Mostly an issue of finding her."
Trix said as she sat down carefully, on a empty chair.
Jacob stared at the ship that Carrie came with for a moment. He grinned again. Heh, Nice ship Carrie, you've been busy?... Anyway we'll be heading to a more private place. If you all will follow me? "Does that include me as well, or do I get to be the odd one out while your guards go along?" Trix said. "Well you're Free to go Trix. I'll add a little bonus by the way, since you got Carrie here with this... well unique ship so to say."
Jacob kept staring at Carrie for a while, Carrie evading all the looks he gave her. She just kept her head down looking to the floor. "Well, if I'm unwated, I'll go get drunk on one of Curaco's many bars. Just do me a favor and try not to scratch up her pretty face or...other importants too much."
Jacob chuckled slightly in response to Trix. "Trix, mind your own business 'right? I don't need you to make suggestion of what -not- to do." "Never said you did need me, Jacob." Trix stood up and walked back to her ship. "But really, I'm a kleptomaniac. I'm OCD about other peoples business. Have fun." Trix shortly said before she stepped back into her ship.
Jacob grinned again to Carrie. "Oh we'll have fun"
Carrie sighed as she saw Trix lift off. Great, she thought and shook her head a little.
Jacob started walking towards a door that led to a hallway. Jacob told some mechanics to check out the Guardian came with, they started to work on it straight away. Two guards grabbed Carrie by her arms dragging her more then letting her walk herself. "We got a lot to talk about Carrie." The handcuffs squeezed on Carries wrists, hurting quite a lot. She tried not to show it, holding a emotionless face. Jacob stepped into a room. The room being totally Dark. He moved he hand over the wall checking for a light switch. When he found it the lights blinkered shortly before they finely remained on steady. Illuminate the whole room. A table in the middle, one chair on the far side and two chairs on the opposite sides. The guards dragged Carrie over the the one chair on the other side and clicked the handcuffs on the chair. Carrie now unable to move her arms at all. She kept looking down. The guards took place at the entrance of the room. Both holding a rifle. Carrie didn't seem to care. She didn't pay attention to any of the security measures. Not like she would or even could escape now.
"Where should I start hm..." Jacob walked from side to side slowly as he moved his hand over his chin as if he was thinking deeply. "Let us some a few things up... "
"You ruined my business with the Blood dragoons, you then 'suddenly' disappeared. Then somehow two girls show up here on -this- very liner saying they are looking for someone named 'Andrew Dababi'."
Jacob stopped with walking and placed both his hands on the table as he looking at Carrie. She didn't look back at him, she remained looking down. "Got something to explain to me, girl? Do you really think you can just do anything you want? Well not on my watch"
Jacobs voice sounded sincere. Carrie remained silent. "Come on, got nothing to say? Explain something to me?"
Jacob walked around the table and gave Carrie a harsh slap on her cheek. Carrie still didn't respond. "Do you think we're playing some game? You're playing with fire here, Carrie!"
He gave Carrie a punch in her stomach. The guards just looked, not showing any emotion.
Carrie gasped for air, her body tried to shrink down forward but the handcuffs kept her sitting up straight. "Go get Andrew." Jacob said curt to one of the guards.
Jacob then walked back to one of the chairs and sat down, he chuckled as she saw Carrie recovering from the punch, still gasping for air a little. "You're such a stupid bitch, you know that?"
Carrie kept gasping for a while not responding to Jacob.
Jacob sighed a little, it sounded like a relief. He stood up and walked to a cabinet. He opened it and grabbed a box out.
He placed the box on the table and opened it. Carrie looked up to it wondering what was in it. She couldn't see in it though.
Jacob rummaged through the box. Then laid a injection pistol next to the box.
He seemed to be loading the gun with some tiny canister. Then stood up and walked over to Carrie.
Carrie lend away from Jacob as she was scared of what Jacob was about to do. "Don't be scared" He chuckled. "This might hurt a little though."
Jacob rolled up her sleeve and placed the pistol onto her upper arm, then fired it.
Carrie felt a shock of pain go through her arm. Jacob shortly rubbed over Carries arm, a small grins on his face again. "That should keep you at bay."
Carrie looked at her arm. "Eh.. w- what was that?"
Jacob chuckled. "Some people call it a 'kill-switch'. It's fairly simple. If you ever happen to slip out of my hands again this will make sure you won't get away alive." Great, Carrie thought sarcastically. Jacob sat back in his chair, playing with his side arm on the table a little.
Rotating it and waiting who it would point to. It ended up pointing straight to Carrie. Jacob chuckled again.
Finely the guard arrived with Andrew who didn't seem to know of anything. "What is this about Jac-..." Andrew stopped talking as he saw Carrie sitting handcuffed in the room. Her cheek already started to bruise a little because of the slap Jacob gave her.
Andrew gave Jacob a questioning look. "How long has she been here and why didn't you tell me?"
Carries eyes grew big as she saw her dad again after several months. Finely he was her in front of her.
But nothing showed he was actually held by Jacob. Carrie was confused. Did Trix really tell me the truth? "I'm sorry I didn't tell you -boss-" Jacob said in a sarcastic tone. "Dad?" Carrie looked up and said it quietly.
Andrew wanted to walk over to Carrie but Jacob blocked him by pointing his gun at Andrew. "What the hell do you think you're doing, Jacob?!" "Nothing, why don't you go stand over there hm?" Jacob gestured to the corner of the room with his gun.
Andrew being confused by the situation did what he was told. "You see Andrew..." Jacob then looked at Carrie "... and Carrie. I've been waiting for this moment so long."
Carrie looked confused to Jacob and then back to Andrew. Giving Andrew a 'what is he doing' look. "You're going to explain to me what is going on Jacob, right now" "Well..." Jacob paused for a moment then aimed his gun up to Andrew. "Some people call it mutiny"
Andrews look changed. "What?!" he looked at the guards. They didn't seem to do anything at all. "W- What?! Jacob don't!" Carrie yelled. "Oh would you shut up, Carrie" Jacob gave her a harsh slap with the holster of his weapon. "Don't hurt her dammit!" Andrew steps forward. Jacob immediately aimed his gun back to Andrew stopping him in his tracks. "Like you care? You got her into this yourself"
Carrie started to weep in the background. As she was confused by the whole situation. Did dad set her up? Did he have a choice? Will Jacob really shoot him? "Andrew, you were a good man. Really you were, too good maybe? too kind for this sort of work..." "What nooo~!" Carrie yelled again. "Too late, order are order" Jacob grinned again.
Carrie tried to get rid off the handcuffs and get to Andrew, not very successful, the chair remained on its place. Jacob then shot Andrew without any emotion on his face. Just cold. The short ended up straight in Andrews chest. Andrew moaned as she sacked down onto his knees, his hands on the place where he was shot. He turned pale and gulped a few times. Looking at Carrie, not saying a word, then closed his eyes and fall onto his side. He remained laying there motionless. Carrie turned into shock, just staring at her dads motionless body.
Jacob commanded the guards to clean the mess up and take Carrie to her room. The very same room Carrie was in after she was caught on Gran Canaria. In the belly of the ship on one of the lower decks. "We'll talk to her tomorrow"
Carrie being Nikki at the time hung around with Mason Ralusch, who took care of her. He offered her a place to stay when he found out Nikki was actually Carrie. He wanted Carrie to act as Carrie again. Since he saw he break down on being Nikki and trying to forget everything that had happened in the past.
Carrie didn't take this well and started to dislike Mason more and more. Eventually Mason talked her into using her own name. Carrie Dababi. And so she did.
Not long after she was kidnapped by a Liberty Rogue, Alexis Glover. Carrie became addicted to some drug already before she was kidnapped. This drug got her into this situation. Aleesha Cooper offered her exchange for Carrie. Alexis Glover the Rogue accepted it. Carrie was send away with Aleesha's Guardian.
Carrie ran away from Liberty. She ended up looking for Terrance Chamberlain. She just needed someone she could trust and he was according to Carrie the most valid person to trust at the time. She used a excuse that she wanted to know more about the Artifacts she used to smuggler. This actually made her really interested in this subject. She became to know more and more about the Nomads and Artifacts.
On a day she got her hands on some Artifacts. She brought these to the Order. Shooting at a LSF agent in the progress. Carrie visited the Order more often with the Guardian later.
Then when everything calmed down and Carrie was staying with still the Guardian on Freeport 11, Trixie Saunders came back into play. She talked Carrie into getting back to Jacob Blair or bad things could happen to Carries friends.
Carrie did go with Trixie to Jacob Blair. This is where she is now. Jacob reunited Carrie with her dad. But the moment was short lived. Jacob short Andrew Dababi, Carries dad. He died shortly after in front of Carries eyes.
