How Love Blunders All...
... Planet New Tokyo
... New Tokyo System
*BUZZ*"Hey Jaden. I got a call from my friend, George Darwin. He's in the area with his private Liner. He invited us over."*BUZZ*
The Tiger Shark, Terminal Velocity, had just lifted off from the New Tokyo Docking Ring when it was contacted by the Virage, Gforce. The pilot of the former ship, Jaden Armand, soon turned her comms channel on and replied to the latter ship's pilot, David Gee, *BUZZ*"Ah... One of your contacts, I presume? Where is the amigo?"*BUZZ*
Then a ship in the far-off distance of space appeared in both ships' passive scanners. Quickly, it made it's approach to their location, eventually entering IFF-scanning range: it was the Sara, a Hogosha-IFF'ed Ship.
David snared at the third party, *BUZZ*"Hogosha.....
*BUZZ*"So long as it doesn't say anything, I won't want to blow it up."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Careful, David..."*BUZZ*
The Hogosha ship goes on approach, and a woman's voice enters the conversation, *BUZZ*"Whats going on here?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Nothing, to be honest. Just having a chat with my friend.
*BUZZ*"Anyway, shall we head off?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Alright... Though if it's still here when we get back... I'll have some fun with it..."*BUZZ*
Jaden shook her head whilst giggling devilishly to herself.
*BUZZ*"Yea, as always they just talk and never do nothing like a real man."*BUZZ* The woman taunted.
In a split-second, the Gforce suddenly does a 180 and gets a direct hit with the mini razor. That single shot cleanly-wiped the shield array of the Sara quicker than you could say 'frak'.
*BUZZ*"Indeed."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Hmm. Well, I didn't like that."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Another smart comment... Just go for it."*BUZZ* Soon the Black Dragon and the Virage face each other in a deadly stare-off.
Jaden only grinned, knowing that this was so going to end up in a fight, *BUZZ*"... Please, deary..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Why did you shoot me?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"My amigo gets pissed off REALLY easily, I'm afraid."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Becasue you thought I didn't have the balls to.
*BUZZ*"And I'll tell you now, I have no trouble blowing you to bits right here, right now."*BUZZ* David said with a cool tone.
*BUZZ*"To kick a woman... or to prove that you are a Real man?"*BUZZ* The woman replied daringly.
*BUZZ*"In space, I doubt that really matters."*BUZZ*
Jaden decides to sit back and let the fireworks fly by themselves, "... This'll be interesting..."
*BUZZ*"Well, go for it... 'Girl'"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"'Girl?'"*BUZZ* and then spares no further talk before engaging the Hogosha.
Jaden shakes her head, "... Ay, carumba..."
The Gforce and Sara began dueling in a marvelous, yet deadly dance of jousts and dodges. Both ships appeared to have the skill with their guns and the reflexes to avoid them, and it seemed like they were almost of an equal match.
But just a few minutes pass until Jaden realizes she didn't yet have her lunch before leaving New Tokyo, *BUZZ*"Hmmm... I'm kinda hungry, David. Can we move on?"*BUZZ*
... it's clear that no pilot intends to disengage anytime soon...
*BUZZ*"I guess not... I'll dock in Roppongi to get some grub, si? I'll be there if you're done here."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Be there soon."*BUZZ* He replies quickly.
After docking on Roppongi, Jaden slowly and casually heads off to the one of the on-board restaurants for a well-on meal...
... 30 minutes later...
Jaden undocks from Roppongi, her belly now satiated by a hearty meal of Kusarian ramen and loads of sahimi. She sure was hungrier than anticipated, for afterwards she had to order some bento and more sashimi. She was starting to grow anxious at whatever happened to David, for he never---
... and there she found him, still dueling long and hard against the Hogosha. The only change was that they had strayed a reasonable distance away from the station, and were now 8+ km from Roppongi, in the direction of the gas giant.
*BUZZ*"Pfff... you're still at it?"*BUZZ* She rolls her eyes, seemingly disappointed by how long the fight still went... but more importantly her worry had been laid to rest.
*BUZZ*"Yea, your boyfriend is a lil' Jumper"*BUZZ*
The word disgusted her a bit, *BUZZ*"A note... He's not my boyfriend..."*BUZZ* And she cruises towards the skirmish.
*BUZZ*"Seems so..."*BUZZ*
But as the Terminal Velocity closes half the distance, the Hogosha appeared to break off from the fight, *BUZZ*"I love to see men who are mad..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Do you need me to intercept?"*BUZZ* But Jaden knew she couldn't just yet... her ship was too far away for the Cruise Disrupter to reach.
... And with that, the hogosha manages to escape.
*BUZZ*"Ah... the frakker left... a pity.
*BUZZ*"... And I was already thinking of joining in the fight...
*BUZZ*"...Wanted to pay the Hogosha my... complaints on their superiors.""*BUZZ*
David laughs, *BUZZ*"I think these Rheinland guns arn't the solution: they are far too power hungry. I need some heavy hitting missiles.
*BUZZ*"The razor gets the shield, but the big guns are just a tad too slow."
*BUZZ*"Anyway, lets continue."*BUZZ* With that, the Terminal Velocity forms up a wing with the Gforce, and they head off in the direction of Honshu.
... Both stay silent for the trip until they enter the Jumpgate, at which Jaden's boredom got the better of her first. She first laughs to herself, then commed, *BUZZ*"... Boyfriend..."*BUZZ* She shakes head with a wry grin, *BUZZ*"The nerve..."*BUZZ*
He laughed in reply, *BUZZ*"Hehe, and to call me a girl..."*BUZZ* Jaden also laughs at that.
*BUZZ*"At least not that 'gaijan', or whatever the hell that is."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Ah, point taken!"*BUZZ* And she laughs even harder.
*BUZZ*"I want to break their neck whenever they say that..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"I'd like to strap them to a bed and pour drops of acid on their bodies whenever they say that..."*BUZZ* She snickers.
*BUZZ*"Just make sure it's a bed of nails."*BUZZ* He included.
*BUZZ*"Bed of being-heated iron's more like it,"*BUZZ* She grins devilishly.
*BUZZ*"Hahahah, that'd work too!"*BUZZ*
As they reach the junction of Akita Border Station from Osaka, they turn left and head towards Sigma-13.
*BUZZ*"But as for this liner, it's in the middle of nowhere. The GMG don't even know where it is."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Huh. That's surprising, considering it's a large ship."*BUZZ* Jaden scratches her chin thoughtfully.
David chuckles, *BUZZ*"... And if you like our yacht... You'll love his Liner."*BUZZ*
Jaden became noticeably more interested when the words 'yacht' and 'liner' were said together, *BUZZ*"... a... Luxury Liner?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"He's rigged it so your scanner says it's a prison Liner, it even looks a bit like one for the outside as well. But the inside...
*BUZZ*"... Fit for a royal family."*BUZZ*
The statement furthered her anticipation to get to it, *BUZZ*"Mmmm... I can't wait to witness such luxury."*BUZZ*
After going through the Jumpgate to Sigma-13, David expected the GMG to suddenly come hard with guns ablazing...
... But it seems they weren't even being approached. In fact, it seems like they were now being ignored.
David gave a low, impressed whistle, *BUZZ*"Fixed your rep eh?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Why wouldn't I?"*BUZZ* She replied in a cool voice.
*BUZZ*"Alright...... E6 it's at, I think."*BUZZ*
After flying past Helgoland, they break off from the Trade Lanes and plot a course into the outskirts of the safe zones. As the two ships flew farther and farther from the Trade Lane rings, the number of patrolling ships slowly grew less and less and less... until they found themselves completely alone amongst the thickening clouds, the light from the two ships' cruise engines being the only color apart from the bluish aura of the nebula.
*BUZZ*"You may want to watch yourself. It's parked inside the explosive gas pockets. Deters smaller ships."*BUZZ*
BOOM!!!
*BUZZ*"Already too late for that, Hahahah!"*BUZZ* Jaden quickly breaks formation and began evading the numerous H-fuel Gas Pockets that were coming up in front of them.
Maintaining an oscillating-straight line in the direction of the plotted Waypoint, passive scanners soon pick up an anomaly in the distance: it was a ship, christened as the Enthusiast's Timepiece.
*BUZZ*"Hmmm... got something... ah, is that the liner, David?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"More than likely, there's nothing else in these fields."*BUZZ*
Quickly, they come upon active scanner range. Jaden makes a quick scan of the ship, turning up something that raised her eyebrow, *BUZZ*"Freelancer IFF... strange...
*BUZZ*"Must be a salvaged wreck... or a rarely-seen private liner...
*BUZZ*"... all the better."*BUZZ* She smiles to herself.
*BUZZ*"Unknown ships, this is The Enthusiast's Timepiece. Please state your intentions and course."*BUZZ*
Jaden replies the transmission with a formal tone, *BUZZ*"This is Terminal Velocity to Liner Enthusiast's Timepiece. We're here with Gforce to request permission to see a contact of my compadre's, a person named George Darwin."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"This is David Gee, I'm coming to see old Georgy."*BUZZ*
She was surprised at how David initiated his conversation, *BUZZ*"... How casual."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Old? Who the bloody hell you calling old, you wannabe LSF agent?"*BUZZ* The sounds of a Bretonian man in his 40's replaces the voice of the Control-agent.
Jaden was astounded, *BUZZ*"... Even more casual..."*BUZZ* She smiles smugly as she giggled.
*BUZZ*"Alright... Permission for me and my friend here to dock."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Your request to dock is granted. Please proceed to dock 1."*BUZZ* A number of red lights open up from the bottom of the Liner, indicating the place to go to.
*BUZZ*"Acknowledged, Control."*BUZZ*
The Terminal Velocity and the Gforce engage docking procedures, and make their way through the large, open hatch that slowly opened up to allow the ships to enter. Within, they could see that the docking operations alone were well-organized and well-maintained, albeit with little manned crew save for robots. Whoever this Darwin was, Jaden thought, he must have a nice little thing going here.
The ships begin their careful approach towards the two bays that were highlighted by sharp, red lights around the sides. They land without any problems whatsoever.
The Gforce opened its cockpit first, its pilot afterwards slowly descending down the ladder. The Terminal Velocity, on the other hand, had its pilot vault over the side, apparently ignoring the ladder altogether. She lands on the hard platform with a metallic, but somewhat smooth thud, her whole body crouching low upon touching the flooring to absorb much of the impact.
Jaden, a Corsair-Freelancer cyborg who had her left arm, leg and eye replaced with some ugly, metallic, prosthetic limbs (save for the eye, which now looked like a normal eye except that it had the ability to change its color to accomodate the different visual settings), pauses for a couple of seconds before looking up with a smug grin, "... Heh... Haven't done that in a while."
"I once did that when I was drunk... Cracked 3 ribs." David Gee approaches her with a large grin himself, "... Anyway, Welcome to the Enthusiast's Timepiece."
She rubs her chin with her robot hand as she slowly rose to stand up, "... Yeah... The docking bay's not too shabby too."
Without warning, her robot leg let out a large BANG, followed by a cloud of steam spewing from almost all of the joints on the limb: so thick the smoke was that it creates a small fog all around her. With the Pneumatics temporarily without any media to hold the mechanism together, the leg immediately buckles, making Jaden stumble on the spot, "ACK!" and she hits the floor hard.
David dashes to her side and offers to help her, "Looks like that jump can break even metallic parts..."
She quickly recovers after shaking her head from side to side, "... STUPID OLD LIMBS!" She swears, "[A.D.M.I.N. censored], I so need to get replacements soon...
"Ugh... Overdue for a replacement for more than a year already."
After having David help her get up, she brushes away any loose dust on her flight suit gathered from the fall, "... Gracias." She looks at the leg, which had by now finished replacing its escaped air, allowing the mechanism to function properly again.
A grin forms on his face, but quickly vanishes, "Is there anything I can do?"
"Unless you're good at prosthesis, I don't think you can...
"... But a new model would be sweet, particularly one that's catered to my limb settings.
"But enough of tha---"
"Will you be able to get around?" He asked.
She paused at his concern, "Ehr... Si... This just happens when too much stress is applied in a short time. Strains the Pneumatics.
"Shouldn't happen... unless it's overdue for repairs, or is badly-maintained."
"Or just a little too old?"
She nods.
But her ears pick up the footsteps of a man on the distance, and she turns her head over to his direction. He looked like a Bretonian man, who wore a long black suit over an empowering-red long-sleeved shirt, his smooth, black, well-tailored slacks complementing both his attire and his spit-shine black shoes; on one hand he pegged a shiny, finely-carved cane with a lot of intricate patterns running all over its handle and spine, while the other hand was empty. His eyes didn't show of simple, age-old wisdom: actually, they shone with a powerful, dominating gaze that was associated by a man with a lot of power and wealth within his grasp.
Without turning her head, Jaden whispers to her companion, "Is... that the guy, Dav---"
"George!" He marches over to the man and delivers a firm, double-handed handshake, "Good to see you! Jaden's just having a little trouble."
She flinches slightly with an impressed awe, "... How really casual..."
After finishing with the handshake, his gaze switches over to the Corsair's direction, "Ah yes... Jaden. I've heard quite a bit about you. Do you think you could make it to the repair shop? I'm sure we can fix that right up for you."
"Hurr? Ehr... uh, thanks. I gue---
"Waiiit..." She narrowed her eyes with suspicion, "... How DO you know me? We haven't even met... have we?"
The man laughed a laugh that would've sent shivers down even a gruff man's spine, "I know quite alot about you. I wouldn't let a complete stranger onto my ship, even if they were a friends of David's."
A slight nervousness, as if of adrenaline, crept up through her bones, "Hmmm... is that so...?"
"Born on Planet Crete, successfully completed your rite into adulthood, but became an untouchable shortly afterwards when you turned coward and fled that ambush instead of dying with honor... left the empire when your entire family, friends and first lover, Julio Peñar, died before your eyes at the hands of BHG who were hired by corrupt Corsairs... only barely-escaping from the trap and losing your left eye in the process..."
She grunts with a snare.
"... Entrusted yourself unto Penchant Travin, who rescued you from your pod and even funded to replace your eye... only to be betrayed, used and abused by him later on, and, on the proxy-station he tried to trap you in, a blast door slammed shut, snapping your left leg clean..."
The dark, vivid, horrible experiences were quickly flooding back, "... Those were... my darkest days..." She bows her head low, developing a long frown on her face, a tear quickly dripping down the side of her cheek.
"... Survived the incident, replaced the stump with a prosthetic leg, became a Freelancer escort with a reputation for being cold, calculating and brutally mistrusting... was soon hired under contract by infamous smuggler, Terrence Bourbon, who eventually won both your trust and your heart after 2 years of persistence..."
The bittersweet memories of Jaden's most recent lover filled her mind. She closes her eyes and whispers half to herself, "... He was a great man..."
"... Smuggling fleet ambushed by a 5-Tridente raid in Tau-23... You tried to buy time for the smuggling fleet to escape, but a missile hit you, the explosion charring your entire left arm, forcing Terrence to rescue you and letting him be the one to buy time... was successful, but perished in the process."
Jaden looked at her left arm, an apparent reminder of her greatest failure as an escort... a grim reminder of how much she had lost just for deciding to live, "... I..." She looks back at George, her eyes now filling up with tears from the memories she wished to forget... and thought she had forgotten, "... didn't want to be reminded of all that..."
"Don't worry my dear, I know just as much about David." He grins darkly at the Libertonian, "... Did he ever tell you about his first love?"
Her tears momentarily stop as she was piqued with interest, "... N-no... He didn't. Why?"
"Enough showing off George," David interrupted cooly, "Can we head to the repair bay? Trust me Jaden, it'll be good as new."
"But I..." She pauses with heavy hesitation, but eventually continued, "... I want to know... if that's alright with you, David?"
... George only grinned ever darker...
But before the man could utter another word, David began scowling at him, "You will. But first, repair bay. THEN drinks."
Jaden made a disappointed smirk, but quickly turned it into a smug smile. She wipes the remaining tears from her eyes, "... Alright. The steam's getting annoying anyway." She complained as the pneumatics started fizzing stronger than usual.
The way to the repair bay was a short one: just a few minutes' walk from the Docking Bays towards the Medical Bay. Jaden, as she and David followed close behind George, was rightfully-amazed at the level of detail and luxury that even the corridors alone expressed: large antique-looking chandeliers, narra-boarded walls that had a slight yet rich rosy-aroma to them, and red-carpeted flooring which offered lots of friction, even when wet; every several meters an old-fashioned oil painting could be found decorating the wall.
On the way they only chanced upon a couple of other crewmembers, who were too busy and engrossed in their datapad-interfaces to even interact with George. The man didn't seem to mind: in fact, he appeared quite pleased that his crewmembers were all busy with something to do instead of slacking around, "I do believe they should be a good fit. If not, I'll have them changed." He said as they were getting half-way to their destination.
"That's a surprise. Not many people with my design specifications...
"... Unless you were informed that I was coming beforehand?" She gazes at David wryly.
The accused simply grinned in response, "You'll regret any wacks you give me... I'll tell you that now."
Jaden shrugs her shoulders, "Eh... expected, considering I'm under your employ."
Entering the MedBay, they make a few turns toward the Biomechatronics wing. As they opened the large blast-door a flood of white light shone on them. After Jaden's human-eye had adjusted, the first thing that she saw within that room was a cylindrical, gravitonic platform where, on the center, a prosthetic arm and leg floated conveniently within reach: the two limbs were quite life-like, looked very real. Had there not been the plasteel attachments on the junctions you'd think they were yanked out from another person.
Jaden was impressed, and slightly awed, at the level of detail, even from a distance. She raises an eyebrow as she appraised the limbs, "Well! This IS a delight."
"And they're all yours."
She brisk-walks over to the platform, and the limb that she got first was the arm: it was supple, smooth, fair and so very much like her own skin; whoever made these prosthetic limbs sure must've done their homework into how Jaden originally looked before the accidents.
Her eyes tear up slightly in gratification, "... It's... been so long..."
George folded his arms and coughed to get her attention, "If you don't mind, Jaden, David and I will head over to the Main Lounge. Just ask any bot you see to lead you there when you're done."
"Si...
"... and... Thank you."
David gives a mock salute as they turned to walk away, "See ya soon!"
As the two men disappear out the repair bay, Jaden takes a short time to feel the skin after many years. But then her admiring smile slowly becomes a devilish grin, and she began cackling deviously to herself, "... Heheheheh..."
... Several minutes pass...
The Main Lounge was a little dark at the time, with some dimmed lights fairly illuminating the room. It was a medium-sized room, with more than a dozen smooth tables, each chair being a softly-cushioned throne in its own right. The walls were decorated with several paintings and a single, large viewscreen, while on one side was a very large, clear-view window that showed the Crow Nebula in all it's glory.
There, beside the window, sat George on his comfortable chair, whilst David stood, looking outwards into space, "I haven't been here in a while..."
A robot bartender came up to the two and poured a drink into Darwin's empty-glass, "Yes, it's been too long I'd say, though you two have been going through ship at a good rate."
David scoffed lightly to himself, "Well Jaden has had some bad luck with Rheinland, as you know. And I have been playing around with the loadout.
"... Almost got it right. Know any good missiles? Heavy hitting is what I'm looking for---"
"Hey, David..." A familiar voice echoed over the distance.
George turned his head towards the direction, and he gave a very wide grin. David looked over, and there he saw Jaden leaning her shoulder on the Lounge's doorsill.
Yet she looked different... David thought that he had already gotten accustomed to the Corsair's looks with her hideous limbs. But as he slowly appraised her from head-to-toe, now without any ugly machinery marring her true potential, he didn't just see an ordinary woman: he saw a woman, a figure that curved with suppleness, an item of mouth-watering lust, an object of delight that even Aphrodite would've wept to glimpse a taste of.
... And that ass... oh, and that ass...
For all his attempts at self-control, David couldn't help but feel... uncomfortable... VERY uncomfortable, in fact, at the presence of such a pristine example of humanity.
"What did I miss?" She asks in a foxy tone.
He clears his throat and quickly looks back out the window to the nebula, a bead of sweat trickling from the side of his face, "W-we were just... talking about me getting some missiles. George suggested cannonball missiles... you heard of 'em?"
She leans out and slowly approaches the table, "Cannonballs?"
"So you have heard of them?"
She rolls her eyes, "Frankly, I'm more inclined with Sidewinders. What's the use of damage when the 'hammer can't even hit the nail', si?"
"Those aren't bad, but what David needs is something that'll track better than his weapons, while still deliver a good punch" Darwin leans back on his chair.
"I'd go with Corsair-make weapons... The best in the galaxy, delivers punch, and is quite energy-efficient." She proudly mentioned.
"The Corsairs make good weapons, though they certainly aren't the best. Really, it depends on the target." He rubs his chin to himself.
Jaden grinds her teeth at his protest, but quickly maintains her composure, "Still... Honestly, I'm not particular with missiles. Too..."
She looks to the side, frowning, "... unreliable."
"I never used missiles myself... But after taking on the Hogosha, I think if I had a couple of cannonballs, I'd have hit a little more often: the razor takes care of the shields, the missiles and guns for the hull."
"Your getting better with the razor, though you can still be wildly off sometimes..." George points his glass at David's direction.
"Yes... Still nothing like taking their smug shield from under them in one hit."
"HAHAHAH...
"... So Jaden..." Darwin turned to look at the Corsair, "What do you plan on doing with yourself? I'm sure you don't plan on sticking with David forever.
"... Even I get sick of him sometimes..." He chuckles as he takes a long sip.
She opens her mouth to respond, but then somehow hesitates, "... I... don't really know..."
David grins to himself, "It's not so bad. A free holiday to anywhere of your choice from time to time."
She scratches the back of her neck, "I know that David can be such a pendejo sometimes... but..." She stares out the window herself, her face seeming to go deeper in self-thought.
After finishing his sip, he puts a fist on his mouth in thought. After a moment, he puts on a devious grin, "... You love him, don't you?"
"Wha---" Jaden is caught off-guard, "H-How--- N-n-no!" She turns back to Darwin with hysteria in her voice, her face wildly blushing red, "I already said that I only loved him because I thought he was acting li--- wa-wait, what I meant was that I was simply infatuated by how he helped me and made me feel speci--- NO-NO-NO, that's not it either, what I meant instead was that, sure he had the sums of money, a great estate, the physique of a hunk, and the die-hard looks of a--- W-W-WAIT, WH-WH-WHAT AM I SAYING?!"
David turned his head to face Jaden, his face shocked beyond disbelief... but the tone of his next words clearly showed interest on the subject, "... What ARE you saying?"
Jaden was now put on the spot. She twiddled her fingers as she looked down on the floor, fumbling in her response, "... I... Ehr... Uhmmrrrr... I just---"
Suddenly, David's PDA beeps madly, "... Huh?"
She blows a long sigh of relief.
"What the... crap..." He looks at the data that his PDA just received, and doesn't like what he's seeing, "We're going to have to sort this out later... Company at the estate."
The feelings of embarrassment quickly leave her, and are soon replaced with urgent alertness, "What? Company?!"
He puts the device back in its pocket and turns to Darwin, "George, talk to you soon." He then turns to his companion, "Jaden, we'll have to talk more about this after, we gotta get home... NOW!"
She nods quickly, "Si! On it!" The two then sprint off to their ships without another moment's notice.
"Good hunting to both of you. Perhaps you could try those defenses David?"
"We might just need them!"
"Thanks for the new models, by the way, Señor Darwin."
He waves at them with a smile, "Don't forget to ask David about his first love, that'll crack him right open!" And he laughs long and loud.
Jaden catches those last words, and momentarily gets piqued with interest... but then shakes it off from the urgency and continues onto their ships.
... The Terminal Velocity and the Gforce cruised on towards Helgoland, their pilots' hearts racing to get back in time, *BUZZ*"What the hell? Company on MY--- OUR estate?!"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"The computer has been tracking the ship for 10 minutes. It seems to be looking for something..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Then let's punch it before it finds our pad. C'mon!"*BUZZ* The Terminal Velocity's cruise engines fire up even fiercer.
*BUZZ*"Lets just hoping that's not what it's looking for..."*BUZZ*
... As the two ships make their way around Akita and head towards Osaka, Jaden further continued, *BUZZ*"... If that pilot ever lays a finger on my pool, I'm gonna strangle him and feed his innards to the Corsairs."*BUZZ*
David laughs at that statement, *BUZZ*"What was that about YOUR estate? I'm the one who owns it."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"ehr, ehm..."*BUZZ* She pauses a bit in her transmission, *BUZZ*"... I didn't really mean to say that it was just my estate... I just meant that I uh... really liked the place, and..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"The only way it could become your estate is if I died and left it to you, hahahah...
*BUZZ*"... Or if we got married, HAHA---"*BUZZ* But he seemed to get cut-off from finishing his laughter, *BUZZ*"... Wait... What did I just say?!"*BUZZ*
"M... Married?" Her face slightly blushes red, *BUZZ*"... ehh... What DID you just..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"So..... nice long time in power I see.'*BUZZ* A sudden interruption of another man's voice in the comms catches Jaden's attention.
She clicks to respond to the messenger, *BUZZ*"Hmm? Who's this?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Who's the girl on that ship?'*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Uhh...."*BUZZ* David desperately looks for something to change the subject to. It seems that whoever this messenger was, it was only directed to Jaden.
*BUZZ*"Ah, who? I'm the only pilot here."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Mhmmm. How long have you gone by that call sign...?'
*BUZZ*'Now... What ship do you run? I know I know you...'*BUZZ*
Jaden narrows her eyes with suspicion, her tone getting a bit more upset, *BUZZ*"... Who's this? Is this the pilot who's looking for our---"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Might know me as Canis Lupus.'*BUZZ*
Jaden couldn't believe her ears... That name was oh so familiar. It's been so long... but why now? *BUZZ*"... Chr... Christopher?"*BUZZ*
The Gforce's computer finally identifies the intruding ship to be a Hogosha Black Dragon, *BUZZ*"A Black Dragon? I bet you it's that bloody one I fought outside on New Tokyo when we left... No running away this time you little [A.D.M.I.N. censored]"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Ah... Hit a bingo it seems.'*BUZZ*
Jaden was astounded! She quickly switches her comms channel to David's, *BUZZ*"Hold it... I just...
*BUZZ*"I just got contacted by an old friend of mine."*BUZZ* She transmits over as they reach the Planet New Tokyo.
*BUZZ*"Well tell 'em they have to wait! We gotta take this frakker down."*BUZZ*
She was hesitant on breaking comms with Christopher Dangen... There were still so much more questions needing answered, so little information about him. And they've only seen each other once. She was reluctant of just leaving him high-and-dry at the heat of the moment, *BUZZ*"... David... you go on ahead. I'll catch up."*BUZZ*
She switches to Chris, *BUZZ*"Señor Dangen. It's been a while."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Indeed it has... been. You've gone silent."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"What?! Your not coming? Jaden... If they try to escape I won't be able to stop them!"*BUZZ* David yelled over the comms channel.
She switches again to David, getting a bit upset herself, *BUZZ*"I know that! Just let me handle this, alright?! I'll catch up in a few minutes."*BUZZ*
"You'd better..." And with that, the Gforce goes ahead and docks with the planet.
*BUZZ*"Where did we meet again.. I need a memory jog. Alot has happened since the past.
"And its... Dirus Taine now.'*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"Señor Da--- I mean... Dirus. Sorry that I can't stay and chat, but I need to go..."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"This is very abrupt.'*BUZZ*
She told him urgently, *BUZZ*"There's someone who's probably looking for our estate. If they find it, we're done for. Our cover's gonna be blown."*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*"That so... So you can't talk to me... for old time sakes.. That's a shame.'*BUZZ*
Her tone gets a little distressed, *BUZZ*"No, I'd... like to... but this is urgent... You can understand, si?"*BUZZ*
*BUZZ*'Yes... as I normally do.
*BUZZ*'Vale..'*BUZZ* And the comms to Dirus cuts off.
Jaden felt disappointed that he had called at a bad time, but now was not the time for conversation... Her safety could be compromised by the instance of this single ship scouting out for their base of operations. If the Hogosha find it, who knows what'll happen...
She takes in a deep breath, and quickly follows after David into Planet New Tokyo...
Rei rocketed away from the X-shuttle, skimming the, water, sending up roostertails of water. She rovketed upwards, scanning around. She spent hours going, over the lake, scanning everything. Then, she, saw the estate.
"Oathkeeper Actual reads you. Whahca need Ikari?"
"Lance...its good to hesr you...is Jeremy-nii there?"
"Yeah. Colonel!"
Rei sighed. Then Jeremy came on.
"Need something kiddo?"
Rei smiled at his name for her. "Hai. Some support. Need to invade a mansion."
"Well...sounds bad...good thing Tobias is near us. I'm bringing Strix and Aqua. Will that be sufficent?"
"Hai."
"Give us...thirty minutes. Hyperdrive charging. Be careful kiddo."
"Hai Jeremy-nii."
Rei waited...then she went in.
Nothing. Rei landed Nataku behind the Mansion, climbed out, her katana, shruiken, and sidearm ready.
"Well...that was easy."
Rei ran to the mansion, and prepared to break in once her support arrived.
The Gforce rocketed along only 3 feet above the glass smooth ocean traveling faster then the speed of sound.
"Come on move your fat ass!" Yells David as he tried to push the throttle further than its stops.
David had changed the displays in the ship to the information he was getting from his estate. The intruding Black Dragon must have sighted the island and had made right for it. David had expected the missile defenses to rise from their sub-terrain resting place and unleash a storm of radar and heat seeking missiles as soon the Black Dragon had come within range. But David revived no notice of this occurring.
"Oh god..." David facepalms "I forgot to activate the things...Real nice trick Gee...Reeaal nice."
Soon the dot indicating the intruding ship is righto on top of the estate, it's estimated height drops until it goes under the radar.
"Oh...So you think you can just waltz into my home? I'm going to show you."
"Ok. Plan the approach...Currently at 3 feet, at max power and going faster than sound. I'll need to slow down or risk blowing out all the windows, go over the top, find the ship and it's pilot, break their neck." He laughs darkly.
Suddenly the display indicates a window has been smashed.
"Slight change of plan." David says angrily "Go over the top, into a vertical climb, spin round and blow up anything that looks out of place. I'll blow up the entire damn island if I have to."
As the Gforce approaches the estate its speed decreases to just below that of the speed of sound, it's height just enough to clear the top of the house. Just as the Virage is about to pass over the house it pulls up into a gut wrenching vertical climb, it's engines roaring at full power. As soon as the ship is vertical David cuts the power and twists the ship around to face the ground, giving him a clear view of the house, pool, and ship sitting in the back yard.
"Never leave a ship in the open and unguarded in enemy territory." David laughs darkly
As the Virage aligns itself into a vertical dive, David slams the throttle to its stops once more. As the ship hurtles towards the ground its 6 guns and mini razor open fire on the pilotless Black Dragon, turning it into a tangled pile of metal and dirt.
"And that's only the first strike!" David yells as he pulls the Virage out of the dive and heads towards the firing range in the forest "Now, you'll get to face my other toys!"
The Terminal Velocity boosts quick and fast over the skies, until visuals could make out the Estate in view... and a trail of black smoke running in a thin column towards the heavens, "Tsk... Must've missed the start of the party.
"... That Hogosha better not touch the Roof Pool... or that frakker's gonna pay BAD." Over the distance, she could see the faint outlines of the Virage blasting in the direction of the Firing Range. She grins darkly to herself, "He's off to grab his toys... This should be interesting..."
As she initiated landing procedures into the Docking Hangar, Jaden turns the controls to the autopilot and heads over to the Cargo Room of her fighter. From there, she hammers a wall to the side which quickly reveals a secret compartment that contained a wooden box.
She takes this wooden box, and, after placing it down the floor, opens up the lid to reveal an old, two-piece battle gown, and a pair of stiff, metallic wrist bands. The attire, a deep-brown cloth made of lightweight silk, could hardly be distinguished from an ordinary bikini, save that it was intricately-decorated with many black animal graffiti patterns, and from the looks of it was Corsair-weaved; there were two small harnesses on the sides of the lower half, one big enough to fit a can, and the other served as a pistol holster; there was also a quick-pop strip to the straps of both sets that allowed the clothing to easily come off the body should this strip be pulled. The wrist bands, on the other hand, looked very modern and had interfaces built onto their sides; not only that, but there seemed to be a large hole on front of each Wrist Band.
Jaden takes off all of her clothes, then endowns the battle gown and wrist bands on both hands. Punching some commands on the interfaces, each band engulfs the Corsair in a shimmering energy-shield before letting the auras turn invisible. Taking the Cooling Can and her Neutron-based Pistol from the flight suit, she puts them onto their respective harnesses and then presses a button on each band: immediately two, serrated blades shoot forth from the holes without a sound... "... Perfecto."
Finishing her tests she retracts the blades as the Tiger Shark finally lands on the Hangar Floor. The cockpit pops open, and Jaden wastes no time vaulting out from the opening, hitting the platform with a metallic thud. Unholstering both her pistol and Cooling Can, she grins devilishly as she could smell the Hogosha girl's scent. She crosses her arms and prayed silently to herself, "Bless us, o' Santo de Diablo, and this thine great hunt, for which we're about to partake, from thy bounty, through thine bossom of the blood-earth Crete...
"... Amen..." The lights flicker, and the Corsair quickly vanishes without a trace.
An Orchid bomber boasted 15k Ainu, the,Chrysantheum pilot sighing. Another patrol, nothing.
Thats when zIt rolled from the mist, freezing her in her tracks. She couldnt speak. It-it was-
"You saw nothing."
The GC pilot, a beginner, just her second patrol, turned and ran.
The IMG Atlas Scarlette's Memory detached from the side of the massive ship. Nestled inside were three fighters. On the bridge, Tobias Storm grinned.
"Ok guys, we get twenty mill just to drop our cargo."
The Atlas engaged cruise and headed for New Tokyo.
New Tokyo
The Atlas slipped into the atmosphere, following the directions of the ATC. He gained clearance and diverted, heading to the spot Rei had given. As the Atlas approached, the cargo bay slid open, dropping a Nyx, the Bond of Flame, and two blurs or discolorations.
"Owl Eyes to Heavy Arms; We sre clear."!
The Atlas roared away, leaving the three to see about helping Rei.
The Virage comes around the building containing David's arsenal of weapons and lands directly in front of the door. The cockpit opens and David half climbs, half jumps out and off the ship, landing on the relatively-smooth grass with a heavy thud.
Getting up and brushing off the dust, he stretches a bit and says to himself, "Now what should I bring to show and tell?" He laughs as he opens the door, "... Oh I know!"
Walking over to the rows and rows of guns hanging over the walls, he picks up a second custom made pistol and checks the battery, then the battery on the one he had with him, "Good. Both fully charged. No running out of energy this time."
... He remembers how he had lost the bet to Jaden because his gun had ran out of juice on the last shot...
Next, David picks an assault rifle off the wall, checks its clip, and picks up 5 others. He wiped the little parts of dust away from the weapon, "... I haven't used one of these since the LSF. Be good to finally shooting at a live target" and laughs darkly to himself.
Finally he arrives at the mounts holding the VR960FX launcher and the last rocket, which was mounted in a fashion similar to an ornamental piece, "Try to escape with another ship... And I'll blow you to hell!" He loads the rocket into the launcher before slinging it over his back, "Damn! Did this thing pick up another 5 kilos while we were away?"
He grunts as he picks up the rifle and checks his pistols once more "I wonder where Jaden is? Oh well... Time to get back to the estate and break me some Hogoshan necks"
His PDA suddenly beeps with the sounds of an incoming transmission. Placing the pistol back on its holster, he picks up the device and finds it to be Jaden's transmission via a private channel. Her voice was quick and whispered low, "... The hunt awaits, David. I'll meet you at the Hunting Grounds. You don't have to try and find me...
"... I'll find you." And with that, her channel cuts off without giving David enough time to respond, the signal seemingly-untraceable.
"Fine by me..." David says to himself as he heads off up the path to estate at a light jog.
"Now... Another plan." David thinks as he jogs "We have an unknown number of contacts, but their mode of transport is destroyed" David grins at the column of smoke rising into the air
"We don't know their motivation... Assume hostile with intent to kill. Weaponry... Unknown.
"... Now, what do we have?" By now David has is half way to the estate, even with the heavy weaponry his breathing was only slightly faster than normal.
"We have two units. One is on target and is lightly armed. Two is heavily armed and will arrive within 60 seconds" David pats the launcher on his back, checking the rocket was still in place.
"Other assets... Knowledge of local terrain and the structure under attack. The bombers in the bay... ummm" David stops just short of the last turn in the path which would give him a direct view of the house. "
"Frak! They could know this is the route I'll take... Snipers..." David jogs off the path and into the forest on the left side. "Use cover, approach from unexpected angles."
The forest ran the entire perimeter of the estate, bar the beach on the western side. David had moved into the forest that ringed the Northern side of the house. The closest part of the structure he could reach without leaving the protection of the trees was the garage housing the ships.
"Ok.... What else? I think that's it." David continued along the edge of the estate, careful not to get within sight of the estate. When he finally reach the garage, he made a sprint for the wall. He raced across the open ground expecting the ground to explode around him, but it didn't. Relieved he had not been hit and perhaps not seen crossing the open ground, David forget about the extra weight he carried, and instead of hiding up against the wall as planned, he ran into it with the inertia of a 50 kilogram rocket and launcher on his back.
"Damn this bloody thing! If you hadn't of forgotten to active the defenses, none of this would have happened." Realising that he'd forgotten the defenses in assessment of the situation a second time, "Oh for gods sake... Yes defenses... Get them online, THEN find and take out the hostile targets."
David moves to the corner of the building, peaking around to see it was clear. He also similes at the sight of the source of the smoke plum. "At least I hit that one my razor."
David then sneaks round into the house, and ventures inside with the intent of getting to the holo-room and activating the defenses first.
Rei moved nto the estate, looking for a suitable hiding place. She found it.
Scaling the wall, she hide among a chandilier, sword drawn. Ahe steadied herself, her eyes on all the entrances and, exits. Her escape was,a big window she could, easily swing the chandilier at.
"Ayanami to Bond of Flame. Rooftop pool secure. Move in."
Coming in through the front door, David closes the door behind him. He looks around for a bit, he sighs to himself and makes his way to the Northern part of the room, "Now then... Check all corners for any potential ambushes." He looks around the place, checking with his eyes at all four corners of the room. Basically, it was an entire mess: the crescent-couch was torn to shreds, paintings cut in half if not in thirds, rubbish and litter and all manner of stuff were spilled around. He clenches his teeth as he continued on his way, "God... DAMMIT!"
Unknown to him, Rei was high above, atop the paper-chandelier, hanging on the delicate frame and only making quite a small silhouette on the ceiling. Her hiding spot was perfect: not even David expected someone to be able to hide on the lantern, for it would take a very light person to pull off such a feat. Rei could almost giggle as the man soon stopped in front of the Minibar... the perfect angle and position for a swoop-down... She could almost imagine her blade going right through the gaijin's heart.
She readied herself for the attack, and---
But then at the push of a hidden button, David makes the Minibar move to the side by its own power, exposing a hidden door. Rei postponed her attack, figuring that such a find would've been interesting to observe before going in for the kill. The blast door opens up, leading into a white room; David quickly enters, shuts the door behind him, and the Minibar moved back to its original position, once again covering the portal...
Rei got curious as to what room that hidden door led to... But not wishing for him to suddenly come bursting out in surprise, she decides to wait a few more moments before proceeding to find out how the Minibar-mechanism worked...
... Once inside, David called out, "Menu, activate." A holographic drop-down list comes down in front of him, of which he quickly skims through.
The first thing that he activates is the Estate Anti-Air Defenses. He continues, "Activate Estate Surface-to-Air Missile Towers one, two, three and four, authorization code 'Vector-dash-Alpha-SAM-Showtime'"
With that, the Holo-room slowly hums, and then a woman's voice responds, ::: Authorization command accepted. SAM defenses initiating activation. :::
He grins darkly, "... Let's see how your precious backup deal with my Nuke Missiles, heheheh..."
Then David opens up another drop-down box, and after finding the right option he berates, "Activate Estate Complex Realtime Security Grid, authorization code 'Black-dash-Sigma-RSG-Black-Sheep-Wall'"
The Holo-rooms suddenly goes black... but after a few moments a glowing, green-rendered 3D-map of the entire Estate Complex rises up from beneath David's feet. He steps back to allow the image space; after it finishes rendering itself, David walks around the meter-tall scale-model of the Estate. He only does a quick browse before, amongst all the green, he finds a foreign, red model of what looks like Rei, in the middle of the Living Room. It seems she was right in front of the Minibar, trying to find the hidden button, "Computer, scan foreign entity..."
The Computer's reply came quick and concise, ::: Hogoshan Female, 160-Centimeters, 45.5-kilograms, Slim Build, Brown Hair dyed Light Blue, Blue Iris. :::
::: Armaments include KHoFAr-018 Model Lightweave Full-body Armor, one Katana-categorized blade with 62-Centimeter range, one KHoHG-P23 Model Photon-based Pistol, 5 Medium-category Shurikens. Strategy recommends Long-Ranged Combat; does not favor CQC, threat at Short- and Medium-Range. :::
David rolls his eyes in disgust, "Ugh... Kusarians and their little swords." He readies his Assault Rifle in front of him, making it squeal in delight, "... Let's see. Potential ambush point outside. Enemy right at my doorstep. Risky to open the door now...
"... Unless..." David waves the map down, and as the 3D-image fades away the room goes back into pitch-darkness, "... I let the frakker come to me." He kneels to the opposite side of the room, aiming his weapon at the entrance, grinning very darkly to himself as his silhouette disappears in the darkness, "Go ahead. Open the door, you crazy wanker. I'd like to see you try..."
... Meanwhile...
... Somewhere amongst the taller trees, standing on a stiff branch amongst the many others, stood Jaden, her ocular implant viewing the tactical landscape with a maximum magnification of 30x. It switches between a variety of visual readings, from visible light, to infrared, to ultraviolet, changing the pupil's color to green, red and violet, respectively.
All a sudden, she observes the Missile towers come online, their turrets swiveling to and fro, "Well, looks like he got them working."
She bends her left arm over in front of her, and then looked over the various controls with a strange glee, "... The hunt has chosen its battleground.
"... Commencing Stage 1." She lightly presses a single button on the Wrist Band, and all of a sudden a large explosion of significant levels of ions engulfs the entire estate to within a hundred-meter radius. The explosion itself doesn't do any physical damage, but any and all forms of circuitry, electronics and optronics caught within the blast zone blow up, or at least fry up, instantly. The windows suddenly slammed shut with thick plating, and since almost all of the doors around the place were electronically-powered they quickly malfunction as well. Being magnetically sealed, they would prove impossible to open.
The only places which wouldn't have been affected were either the holo-room, due to the nature of the room's interior being blast-proof; the other was the stairwell to the Roof-Pool, which was only protected by a glass door. With that, the only way to enter (or exit) the Estate for the time-being was through the Side-Pool Area, open from all directions, and from there a wooden staircase led to the Roof-Pool, which was also an observation deck of little cover, "That should take care of any form of Artificial Intelligence and Communications Warfare to be used against us, as well as funnel the frakker to a wide-open spot..."
Then another item catches her 'all-seeing' eye: the Hogoshan's backup has arrived, signaled by the Defense Turrets all swiveling to one direction. As the Nyx makes it approach, on its' side these two discolorations, the turrets waste no time unleashing barrage after barrage of missiles at the ship. Jaden grins darkly...
... and then frowns once again.
The Nyx's pilot proves a lot of skill by dodging more than half of the missiles directed at it with unpredictable and insane maneuvers, while all the rest were destroyed by the two discolorations' weapons: one sported CODENAME weapons blasting from out of it's figure, the other Jaden recognized as Reaper Mk-9's. She could almost facepalm to herself in disappointment as the vessels continued on their way towards the Estate through the ocean, "... Meh.
"I wonder how David's doing... Maybe after I activate Stage 2, I'll head over there. At least if they land, that'll slow those frakkers down." She crosses her arms...
... and with that, the light eclipses for a brief moment, the Corsair disappearing into the shadows once more.
The Nyx flew close to the water, sending rooster tails of water jetting up. Steam began to rise and the diacolorations became blurred outlines of fighter craft, both with the same cockpit, but the fins on the top were diferent; the first one had one, the second one sported rwo.
As the Nyx approached land, the pilot slimmed closer to the, water until she had gotten ashore. The pilot banked and dove into the forest, settling down and humming to standbye.
A girl leapt to the ground, clothed in a silver bikini top and a midnight blue skirt that touched just below the top of her thighs. Her hair was dyed dark blue, and her eyes were a strange color, silver. An elegant katana sat on her back, and two pistols her hips. Her legs were a blur as the girl raced through the forest towards the estate.
"Owl Eyes to Ayanami; Landfall made. Aqua and Sora preparing to keep the air clear."
Rei decided to wait another minute before dropping down to investigate the minibar and it's hidden contents. Looking around the area in which David had reached to open the door, she could only find a panel that controlled the lighting of the bar.
'I'll never be able to work out the combination in time...' But as she says this she hits a random combination of buttons. Suddenly the bar moves and the door is revealed.
Rei giggled to herself slightly, 'This is truly a good day.' Little did she know that David was waiting on the other side, and actually ordered the door to open itself after she had fiddled with the panal.
As it opened Rei looked in cautiously. The room was bare and dark, save for the chair in the center of the room. Rei thought it was a control room of some sort, and of considerable size. Due to the darkness, the corners closest to the door had the least amount of light reflecting into them, so Rei could not get a good look; however, the room seemed deserted. 'That chair must lead to another secret area.'
As Rei began entering the room her focus was on the chair, and how to activate it in order to take her to what she believed was the next area.
... but as soon as she cleared the door, everything went into chaos.
Suddenly the room lit up with a brilliant light, blinding Rei. She instinctively turns back to exit the room, only to feel the door shut. As she begins to panic, she reaches for her pistol, all the while unable to see anything. She felt as time froze when she heard the words, '... Fire'. From the blinding light came the sounds of laser rifles from all around her. Rei dived to the floor, expecting to feel the searing laser bolts passing through her body, but the pain never came... save for a sharp, paralyzing pain in her right arm and what felt like a blade digging onto the skin of her neck.
In the girl's moment of confusion, David raced out from one of the corners and made a mad dash towards her. As she hit the ground, he threw one of his pistols, which had a blade attached to its barrel, onto her right arm. The gun twirled like a boomerang and almost immediately hit its mark: the blade pierced painfully, but not fatally, prompting Rei to let go of her own weapon.
A half-second later, when he got to her side he angled the blade of his other pistol onto the base of her neck. The idea was that if he had applied anymore downward force, the blade would've penetrated her spine, effectively killing her. Gravity also worked to his advantage: if the Kusarian ever tried to catch him off-guard, even the slightest weight-shift would send the pistol's blade into her neck, killing her all the same.
'Don't... move... a muscle.' David growled as he kept the pressure on, 'If you try to escape in any way, this blade will penetrate your neck, killing you, so I really wouldn't try any funny business... Oh and I can simply pull the trigger, that'll do the same thing, just not as messy.' He says with a blood-thirsty smirk, "So, first things first. Lets get all those weapons off you. The pistol, shurikens and that fancy little katana..."
As David went about stripping Rei off of her weapons, she manages to fight through the shock of being disabled so quickly and manages a few words, 'Ho...... How do you... you know abou-"
'About all your weapons? I had a few toys built into my estate, in fact you shouldn't have even made it... Bloody missiles...'
'Wha... What are you going to..to..to do to me? P... Please don't do evil things to me.'
The thought that the predator had just become the prey only made the Freelancer's grin all the darker, 'Well if you cooperate maybe you'll live... But you're going to pay for what you've done to my estate.'
After David finishes disarming Rei of her weapons and kicks them to a far-off corner, using his free-hand he bounds her arms and legs with magnetically-sealed handcuffs, his pistol-hand still positioned dangerously-above her neck, 'Now, tell me what I want to know, and I won't do anything to you until after I sort this out.'
He gets up and walks cautiously towards the chair, but since the blade still lingered on her neck it twisted in his movement and starts to scrape, but not bleed, the Kusarian's delicate skin. When he was near enough to the chair, he finally lifts the blade up, then continues walking to it and sits casually on the holo-room chair, slowly spinning around whilst twirling his pistol excitedly.
He wastes only little time in continuing from before, 'So, four main questions. 1... How many others are coming? 2... What kind of firepower do they pack? 3... How did you find this place? and 4... What the hell do you want?"
David stopped spinning his chair upon finishing that last statement, and glared down directly at Rei, impatiently-awaiting a response to his questions.
