i know this. Its called Crossfire mod & yes its bigger & maybe even has more things than discovery. Here in Bulgaria its the most played freelancer mod. I think i may try it some day but now i'm busy playing discovery :).
[SA]-Michael.Knight (Avenger) - a Navy Ensign Gordon_Shamway (Container Transport) - Trader Knight_Rider (Liberty Gunboat) - rarely used Navy character
Crossfire was a pretty good mod. It even added a new sector in the Altair star system, which I believe was controlled by the Coalition. You can also revisit the Sol system, which is actually populated by the Coalition, the Order, AND the Dom'Kavash!!!! However, the infocards aren't as nice or and the whole mod itself doesn't look as professional as Discovery.
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
Firstly the video is cool no doubt about it, but it isn't Crossfire. That video is a trailer for Freelancer early in its development before Microsoft scaled back the features of Freelancer. Most of what you see in there was radically changed or simplified into what we have now. Notice how the main character doesn't resemble Trent at all? Yea.
That trailer is actually more in line with the original concept and designs that what we play now.

yea..is not crossfire mod....but the original freelancer it looks hell alot better than now...especial for the graphics.
There's no way that's machinima from the game, Crossfire mod or no. Where are the boxes around the ships for example? How did they get Trent and the other characters to do those things? Either it's an in-house produced vid, like Turkish said, or some fan has been *really* keen with some animation tool.

(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
You can see that trailer in lovely DVD quality if you own the FL soundtrack, it shows so much potential. All scraped away by Microsoft, perhaps if the community persists long enough a restoration project could be made.
Did you notice how the Defender's wings extended? Looks so very interesting. My word, I wonder what they had in mind story wise.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
