i would like to hear your opinion on the subject equivalent value of Sirius credit in some real currency, in order to RP better since many people think that only because they have loads of credits they are less worth than peanuts, but i think that is not the case, lets look at some things: one random pilot can be sold for up to 6000 credits unless he is some elite, one pilot takes up 1 unit in cargohold, which suggests that one unit of any good is a crate(i assume it is a crate) of approximately 1 cubic meter, the price of Starflier is 10000 credits, and Starflier is cheapest space vehicle, and i assume is more expensive then Hovercar (no fighter is suitable for simple driving so i assume there i something that is used for moving on planets) also we should have consider statement of Edison Trent when he said 1000000 credits to be opportunity of a lifetime, or Maltese news feed when crimeboss offers 6000000 credits to anyone who helps find his son, by the way comparing prices of fighters in vanilla FL and Disco i aw that prices have risen 100-150 %, but that oes not have to include other products, it could simply be law of offer and demand because of the wars.
I saw you walking down the streat, your eyes, your lips, your nose, everything was so perfect. I started singing "who let the dogs out."
The value of Sirius credits in Discovery is hugely inflated from what it was in the Vanilla game, mostly due to the availability of powerful ships like Battleships, as well the large cost of death associated with losing all cargo and all ammo, (In vanilla, when you died and simply re-spawned at your last save, all you lost was a bit of time. Now that there is actual fiscal loss associated with death, credit income rates exploded in order to make ammo and bots/bats affordable). Currently, I would estimate Sirius credits at holding a value relative to slightly more expensive than the current Euro, but that's just me... Honestly, I have no idea where people get the idea of paying 200,000 credits for a drink; 5 creds for a beer and 12 for a good meal seems a bit more reasonable.

That introduces another question now... what's going to be the unit classed as smaller than Sirius Credits?
Cause if you can buy a beer at 5 credits, how much would a single piece of candy the size of your thumb cost then? 0.01 Credits?
Still, not really important in a game where you can't get out of your ship and buy things for your character. Maybe a mod can answer your question about this.

Please, next time use more breaks/paragraphs. They don't hurt you or anyone else but they improve the readability of your threads A LOT;)

' Wrote:do planets have there own currency or is it all sirus credits?
Id assume that the cargo was alot bigger than just a crate?
sure iv seen disscusions like this before?
Somewhere (maybe in the wiki) I've read that the Houses have their own currency and that the Sirius Credit is the interchangeable currency!

That's my home you're talking about!
Anyways, I wouldn't mind seeing everything cost 100%-200% more in 4.86, seeing as how many rich people with billions of credits laying around there is. 8-|
As far as I'm concerned Sirius credits is a universal currency. In the Freelancer universe, paper and coin based currency don't exist anymore because they've been made redundant by digital currency.
It's hard to compare the value of Sirius credits to modern currency because of possible inflation and market crashes that happens all the time. But I assume 10 credits is comparable to 1 GBP.
