So let's say, i wanna write a story were my char is RPing with the commodity *insert faction here*-pilot and
after that he kills him indirectly by jettison. Since this is just a story there will be no other players involved.
The story itself will be as vague as possible. Meaning:
No names mentioned (except for his faction origin visible on a screenshot, the pilot will remain anonymous)
pilot paralyzed (an overdose of some pharmaceuticals)
pilot won't talk (my char broke his jaw)
no other players involved (it's my char's private matter)
the only ingame involvement is killing a NPC (to get the pilot-commodity)
and for making screenshots (i like illustrated stories)
so basicly the story is just a monologue with some pics.
My questions here are:
Is this powergaming?
If it isn't, does it still depends on the faction the pilot belongs?
If it is, do i need permission from the faction the pilot belongs?

Powergaming is like when you say that you've destroyed another (human) player even though the outcome of a combat situation is still unclear. Or something like that (read the link ^^).
In my opinion, you don't need the faction's permission to kill one of their NPC pilots ... the NPC's name will come back on your screen sooner or later:D
I like to think of player characters as the top percentage of the population, those with exceptional skills and attributes, and NPC's as "normal" people, average Joes. (if that makes sense)
Killing some random NPC as part of a story that does not adversely affect or contradict established lore, and has no real bearing on how other players want to RP, its not power gaming.
Thousands of NPCs die in game every day as a result of player actions so I doubt one more will make a difference.

Time to pour some fuel in the fire. Does this applies to Phantom pilots too? Their infocard says that they're
extremely difficult to capture. In my eyes: extremely difficult =/= impossible.

They have NPC pilots?
And the Phantoms are not an "official" faction anymore, I think ... so basically, you can create a name for them and kill the fictional NPC character:D

Don't forget my first statement, player characters are the top percentage. If your character has a reason to capture an NPC phantom its well within his reach. So long as the circumstances are not too outrageous there is nothing stopping you.
[color=#FFFFFF]If this is powergaming then I powergame all of the time.
Sirius is big yes I mean big and quite populated manhattan alone is 2.something billion. 200 people are not nearly enough to make up the "majority" of the population in fact 20 000 will still not be enough. I use NPC names in my stories all of the time, so as far as I am concerned go for it
' Wrote:All factions with at least one base ingame have NPCs. I got all screenshots already and my intension is to post the story tomorrow on my disco-day.
Synth Foods still has NPCs. Actually all the factions have NPCs + their respective Guard NPCs if they have a Guard System as well. The sole exception is the Xeno Guard NPCs which weren't placed in their Guard System by a mistake.
I usually try to exclude NPCs in any way of my RP. The sole exception is probably when I get disrupted in a lane or by CDs and I want to describe the situation somehow. Then I should admit there are some rookies around...
It think it's fine. I don't consider it powergaming as you are not trying to force anything on the faction. You're just writing a story, and what will happen in that story will have no consequence in game.
