Hmmm. I don't know about this. It is true that 3 bombers can take one out very very fast, but thats 'cos more often than not they're flown without any fighter support. Fighter support would also render the 'sub' class defunct as well, perhaps doing this would make sure people flew far more varied and balanced fleets.
I really like the idea, but again, a big NO to the cloak. It's just not freelancer.
Yes, but it was NOMAD. The Wild and Keepers I can see using a cloak. Not anyone else.

Well theoretically you can make such a ship. What you would need is a small vessel that is radar resistant (or whatever the future qualifying version is) and give it the ability to hide its heat output (the most likely way to detect space craft), thus you have a silent stalker. provided of course you do the above and avoid moving like a unnatural object. (aka not flying in a strait line, not flying at velocities greater then half the speed of light)
For a better reference see The Normandy, Mass Effect.
This is not possible to simulate within FL's code. You can hide yourself from players, but not NPC's who would give you away.
I always liked Mechwarriors method of powering down your craft to become invisible to sensors. A pirate ship would be hard to tell from an asteroid. Once again however, this is prevented by the confines of FL's code.
honestly modding in anything other then a new ship or system is an art form. An elaborate tricking of freelancer to do something it is not supposed too. TLR use to have a recorded conversation between thier team and the developers. Digital Anvil had not intention to make FL modable.
1st off - good idea on the combat concept. Many torpedo tubes, firepower dedicated only for the torps (only 1 GB-sized gun) A trasports's armor rating with some transport shield... That might work uz know? The ship would still be easy to bblow up (like a real submarine) And pretty much defenceless against an open attack by fighters, bomers or GBs in some cases.
Only problem is: Stealth
A while ago, there's been talk about radar jamming devices, which would rened its owner's ship invisible to scanners (not appearing on the detection list) only untill the "jammer" is at very close range (like 1k or so)
If that one's implemented (For SOME ships ONLY - I don't wanna see cloaked fighters and battleships prowling the whole place and everyone using the device), We're on a good road to stealthy pirates.
The boss stated on the same thread that cloak of that kind (scanner) is impossible.
No can do.

Torpedos shouldn't be upgraded in Damage until their blast is greatly improved.
Because, if you improve only damage, then people will use it against fighters again.
Instant kill.
If you make a bigger blast, people will use them on capital ships from larger distance (400m+).
Then, if the blast is larger, damage can be greatly improved, to some 30k damage.
