[color=#000000]So, I'm planning to RP as an order researcher/explorer...I would like to explore Sirius in a GEB anyway. The main question. Is it odd, if I will fly to Gallia, Bretonia, Rheinland, etc. in a GEB as an order explorer? Ye, I know, there is another vessel what could be fit better as an explorer, but I would like to use that ship for it.
Anyway, some ideas, explanations could be much appreciated from experienced order/other players.
First thing:
Geb would be totally wrong choice for that kind of RP. Light carrier as it name says, is serving as mobile HQ away from Minor, ressuply point for distant recon wings and patrols.
Most of the time it would be outfited with many fighter squadrons and long range radar and communication equipment. InRP that kind of vessels should be rare, used only where needed, and remain hidden 90 % of the time. Order would definately not use that kind of ship for exploration purposes only.
Second thing:
It packs 18 turrets, battleship shield and 520 000 hull, being the strongest BC in game.
It's size is his biggest flaw, and it's not that much of combat vessel, but those houses you mentioned will surely see it as huge threat, and by so, will most likely destroy you on sight.
And most of the time that does happen, gebs get shot where ever you move in house systems, although some people have been rping them successfully and managing to leave in peace without a shot fired with entire BAF/BPA fleet on them.
Tenacity have been around almost entire Sirius with his geb, aswell as Ophidian, for who I must say was master of getting out of hot situations in geb without any fire being opened.
So ye, my advice, you can try it, people will want to shoot you, you can adjust RP of geb to be suited and altered for deep explorations, holding out without any dockings required for long time etc.
It's all up to your imagination, but as I said, don't be suprised if you don't get a chance to leave, and be killed on sight.
Playing as Order in house space gives you a plenty of RP oportunities, by doing it in geb, you are increasing chances to get shot at more often then RPed with. Depending on your RP skills those things can be avoided, but it's up to individual.
That would be my 2 cents as pretty old Order player. :)
I advise using a Resheph. It is after all a Reconnaissance Cruiser.
Also, you'll need permission from Order HC to go anywhere outside of the general Order ZoI, and I doubt they'll allow an unescorted carrier fly around in house space.
I even had trouble getting permission to park my Resheph behind Maine... in fact, I don't have permission yet.

Well yes, thats what I thought, and I know the circumstances, since I've tried something same before in a Hathor. Not the best choice, but I like that ship more better than others in that class and well, I dont wanna "explore" in a Ossie.
The main goal of my "rp" is the exploration of Gallia, since the 4.86 will be based on it, and I feel some potential to RP there as an order explorer. I know well, that house spaces will be dangerous and most of them hate capships in it, what is normal, but well, I would like to RP it...or I would like to try it, if I wanna be correct.
Sure know, that a GEB cant match against snubs or house militaries, but my main goal wont be the pew pew...as I sad, I would like to use it for RP thing...since I hate capships, because most of them are useless and doesnt fit my style.

Go for the Reseph or whatever is the thing's name, since it's made specifically for the purpose you want it for. And it's not made for pew pew, just like you don't want it to.
