This is just a suggestion. I think would be great if the Zoners rebuilt it.
If anyone has any ideas about what would go on there, who would be in the bar, and what kind of sips, weapons, and commodities it would sell, please post and tell me, i'd love to hear your ideas.
P.S - If any story events are going on in Sigma-17 (Freeport 7 System), that would prevent the reconstruction of F7, please let me know.
I see no real reason as to why anyone would try bringing the base back, other than sentimental or touristic aspects. Placing a Freeport to the Sigmas might be a good idea, I even recall a player trying to role play a mobile Freeport based out of a Juggernaut in the region, but bringing back that exact station under that exact name makes little sense in my opinion.
I guess the Zoners wouldn't really want to be in the region due to the constant line of conflicts going around though, it's the main battleground between Outcasts and Corsairs (well... should be with Eta discounted), then there was the GMG-Kusari (and to some part Rheinland) crisis as well.
Why are so many people against the reconstruction of Freeport 7 anyway? What's so bad about it? I think the Sigmas could use another base. There's almost nothing there.
And since someone brought up the Corsair-Outcast War, I would like to ask this. Has anyone actually tried to convince Igiss to remove Omicron Eta? If so, how did the attempt turn out?
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
I talked to one of the devs about removing that exact system earlier and he said it was nigh impossible due to a lot of reasons, among them the fact that anything related to Omicron Eta would have to be erased from the game, such as nav maps, ships stationed there, infocards, etc. It would mess with a lot of servers.
As a Zoner character, the area where Freeport 7 stood in vanilla is like a shrine to all those who died there. Building something there would be an insult to those who died (In my characters eyes).
Building it somewhere else in the system wouldn't bother him, however, a new station wouldn't be Freeport 7. It isn't Freeport 7. Its a new station, therefore would carry another name.
I've no doubt a there will be some player made Freeport 7s in 4.86 though.

However, the system doesn't need to be removed completely, but removing the jump hole to Theta would be doing the trick.

Yes, this would actually be a perfect solution I think. The Outcasts actually do have bases in less systems than the Corsairs, so this would actually even things up a bit.

Outcasts have ALOT less people then the corsairs, they simply dont need that many bases.
Eta needs to stay, and FP7 should forever stay as just a tomb for the fallen.
