People.
I have no idea what is going on with you. I think many of you have forgotten what this server is about. Let me
remind you...
This server is about roleplaying. That means, you play a role in something which is not real. When you go ooRP,
you stop playing that role. You stop hating the Corsair which just blew up your ship in a fair fight, even if you
played an Outcast. Once you go ooRP, you stop being in that role.
I wonder, why are people suddenly so angry at each other? So relentlessly harmfull to each other?
Was not there a time when people talked about what RP they had planned when going ooRP? How both sides
could enjoy the fun? Why did everything ooRP turn into hate for each other?
I have seen some very very bad form of gameplay lately. Actions, just aimed to annoy the players rather than
doing anything in RP. Heard even people talk about how they just want to make things bad for certain
PLAYERS. This is not about PvP. This is not about dying in PvP. This has gone far beyond that. This has gone to
the point where people metagame, breaking trust among the players, infiltrating ooRP channels to get
informations and spy on them to destroy whatever they try to accomplish in RP by any means.
This kind of behaviour is the reason and the result of ooRP hate.
This has to stop. We are ALL players. We ALL want to enjoy this game. And we should
be open to RP suggestions even if they are harmfull in RP. But first it has to be talked about instead of pushed
onto others.
This is not some kind of joke anymore. Trolling has become more and more around this place, and it makes me
very sad, even angry. Because people put a LOT of work in this mod, this server, this forum.
Cannon's post about the sanctions just underlines what I thought. Stop trying to hurt each other and start
having some fun again. Do some more RP, some less one-line shooting. Sit down together and talk about how
to do some good RP with factions which are enemies to each other.
I am not innocent. I think I do not even have to say that. But I am not.
But this does not mean much. Start thinking about your own actions and return to RP.
I have no idea where this hate started, it does nott even matter where this started, but unless this vicious
circle is broken it will only get worse.
If you are so angry at this game, at the players, take a break. Lean back, enjoy the summer (if the weather
is better at your end). Or just do something else for a week, or maybe two.
Many players are seriously fed up with the trolling. It seems people can not talk to each other anymore in a
normal fashion, because of hate, anger, ...
This has to stop. Now. Get back to your common sense. We are all people here. All players. We all want fun.
Even if it is not possible all the time.
I think thats not a "local problem", it started when anybody could harm others without a face (aka internet) and most of the frustrated people try to "solve" their problems online. As I realised its even harder to be polite than harm others. So if you ask me it started in families where kids couldnt learn how to be kind with each other.
Since its an RP server I think you are right, the community have to focus on RP not on PVP nor on play money (lol) but most of the players use it as a place where they can "destroy others and cure their problems by that". I'm not talking about normal pvp situations what are part of RP, I'm talking about the situation like everywhere across the internet. Frustration->Anger->Harming each other->Sharing our frustration with others who will be the same...if they not smart enough to avoid from it for sure.

This
When you take a step back & look at the entire community as a whole, you see that the attitude problem is just small pockets that swell up like zits & need to get popped. the Majority are plugging along like normal, playing the game & posting away; enjoying their hobby.
I hate to +1 but Marburg and Prowler are right. The majority of us are going along having fun. If someone happens to be targeting you specifically just ignore it.
Too many people in this community take it way too serious.
Like that SUN|Core-Bunter.Scum i saw yesterday in Minor, verbally attacking Sun.Core..who wasn't even there.
My personal opinion is that a very whole lot of the folks in here need to GROW UP. At least mentally.
To realize this is just a game, a software product that was design to deliver us pleasure.
Not frustration, not anger or any other variant of pain.
Meh...this isn't the only community that has this issue. Since i started playing seriously, about 10 years ago,
wherever there were communities centered around a game there were sparks as well. People seem to lack the psychologic ability to separate their doings within the game with the real life.
But i'm sure this is a problem that applies mostly to the younger players around here.
@Marburg
No. Not really.
This is not just a little part of everything. It was a little part quite some time ago. If I had made this thread then
I would have only been talking about a "small part". This is about everyone. This is adressed at everyone.
They may not all do such stuff which I described, but that does not change that many things are going wrong
here, causing players to feel bad, to feel annoyed. And even those small things start piling up to a mountain
with time.
I am not looking for annoyance. But searching for RP for what I do is like walking through a jungle of annoyance.
This is not just a little thing anymore.

That is much easier said than done, when people specifically start targeting you whenever they can
with whatever they find.
And I did this for a long time, just ignore it. Dunno, but at some point there is just more than you can ignore
before it starts harming the game experience.

All you do is get comments like "Yeah I agree" and "This" and other ego boosting, but that is really everything you get from this.
Go take a chill pill and ignore the people.
Sadly, such people aren't transitory you know. Ignoring them doesn't solve the problem, as they remain here and go ahead with their doings. In fact, this amplifies their behavior in the detriment of the others. I noticed pathetic behavior for members that have been active in this community for far longer than i have.
