CommID: Jean Pierre LeBlanc Target: Council Leadership Subject: Tau Matters
Bonjour esteemed leaders of the Council!
Ze Arch is quite upset. Quite upset indeed. One of our miners, a civilian mind you, was killed in Orkney today, by your forces. This miner was forced to defend himself from your forces.
If this information was released to the general public I wonder what its effect would be, monsieurs?
Now, I know that our people were not the focus of that attack; I know your forces were after the Royal Policemen that were present. The issue Ze Arch has with this is simple.
Your forces not only killed one of our miners, your actions also prevented the GMS from completing the task it set out to do. Our mining operation was called off due to the removal of our Police protectors. The King was not pleased with the news of the failed operation, and had twenty-three of our miners put to death on New Paris.
If you aren't aware, we needed the Police to protect us because mining in the Tau region without proper protection is all but impossible now. In the past, we've been able to mining with very little security because the only people who bothered us were the Outcasts. It seems the same drug that has corrupted the Outcasts and made them savages has also corrupted the Colonials. They now hunt down and kill any of our miners in the region.
You claim to be fighting for the Gallic people, yet I don't see you protecting us from this new threat. In the past we've been able to lose a certain number of shipments of materials and still meet the Kings demands. With this new threat, we'll be hard pressed to continue to meet the Kings demands, which means no more lost shipments.
I'm not sure why these Colonials have taken to murdering our miners, but perhaps you can do something about this? Perhaps a few more shipments could go missing if this threat was neutralized.

[color=#FFFFFF]Jean-y, mon petit fromage! How nice to 'ear from you! I am mortified to 'ear of the loss of one of your ships! Truly, this ees the saddest day in ze whole of Gallic History, that, a GMS convoy would attack their secret friends, the Council - who were themselves defending our territory against the depredations of ze Royal Punks!!!
DO NOT WORRY! If this information comes to public knowledge, we would be happy to release all ze details of the Councils long and profitable history with the GMS group! We have so much love for one another, the public - and anyone else who happens to read it - will soon see that this is nothing more than a lovers quarrel - and that Pappa (the Council) had to set Mamma (the GMS) straight! After all, Council ships are under strict orders to only fight civilians in self defense - which is why to date, this is the first civilian ship lost fighting the Council in over 2 years - and the first GMS vessel lost ever. I wonder how statistics like those might play out in the open - no doubt some might wonder how it is that GMS convoys maintain such wonderful safety records.
Pappa has never charged Mamma to use our gate-way to Sirius, nor has Pappa ever come to Mamma and asked for anything in terms of supplies, only once has Mamma come to Pappa with the offer of aid -and never has Pappa demanded you cease your Crown appointed tasks, we understand your pain - and as the duty of a gentle, patient and skilled lover - try to keep you satisfied!
Now, Pappa is a little upset with Mamma over her handling of this debacle, how is Mamma going to make it up to Pappa? Perhaps you could get on your knees and......think....about not threatening the Council. Ever again. Or perhaps Mamma would like to see what happens when Pappa stops looking out for you, I guarantee you, should ze Council remove GMS's charmed status, that literally over night there will be groups of vile pirates - like ze awful Y.O.U.R.M.O.M. - who would start targeting your ships with unnerving accuracy! Eet would be terribl'e!!!!
As to how Mamma and Pappa can avoid fighting in front of ze Enfant's again, I'm sure we can come to a simple solution. Do not attack Council sheeps. Ever. The Council ship's will not attack you, will even bring your plight to the attention of Pappa's new drinking buddy, the Colonial State - so we might come to a way of leaving Mamma's ships alone to go about their business. See, Pappa is full of love for you still!
Do not forget Mamma, what the Council's long and rich history with your organisations means for you, I'd hate to see your groups publique image altered drastically over somthing as trivial as ze loss of a single ship!
With all ze love in ze worlds, your friend, your business partner, your lover,

Details of what? That you've attacked and stolen from GMS convoys? Details that contrary to your public proclamations you continually attack and rob civilian vessels? Yes, release zis info to the public. Watch the Royal Navy's ranks be flooded. Watch your beloved Council be eradicated. Watch all you've worked for lost. That would be a very unwise move, monsieur.
You say your ships are under strict orders to only defend themselves from civilian attack, I ask then; why was one of my miners laid to rest when your ships attacked him? Hrm? That is quite contrary to your orders, is it not?
We are both smart men. You and I both know none of this is going to make it to the Gallic public, for both of our organization's sake. I'll forget about the actions of three miss guided fools and you'll ensure your new friends find more appropriate places to point their guns. Our miners have been ordered to flee from you when they are in the presence of the Royals forces. Hopefully this will prevent a mess like this from ever happening again.

Jean-Genie, you do like to pile insult on top of insult eh? Calling us pirates? Calling us fools (yes, I was there also M'sieur!)? Claiming we attacked your ships and make regular sport of eet? Going as far as to say that we would be cruel enough to even record and store such villainous activities for posterity! Why! A lesser man, a more aggressive man, a man less learned in the ways of diplomacy - not me - but a man without charm and grace might be inclined to call you a little merde-bag.
Why is eet, I get the feeling you don't understand the position your in, or the fact that your men started it and your actions have made eet worse! Pappa is angry now! Not livid, but certainly approaching boiling point. Your men, against all reason attacked two of the Council's finest, who were only doing their duty by fighting the GRP - then one of your unfortunate pilots dies when he decided to press on an attack against a military pilot in his civilan mining vessel.
Allow me to explain what happens next - according to your threat of information release - in a concise, clear manner.
1. You tell everyone we are bad guys!
2. People say "Orly?"
3. We say "Non! Look, we have allowed GMS to dock and supply our bases for years! We <3 each other!"
4. Royalists say "Er....what..I don't even.....TRAITORS"
5. [GMS]-Poor.Little.Citizen was killed by GRN|I.Eat.Babies.2 (Gun)
So. Instead of steps 1-5, I suggest we do the following.
1. You say nothing about it.
2. We say nothing about it.
3. ????
4. Profit.
What do you say Mamma, is this clear enough for you? Or shall I use pictures next time?
As to how we move on from here, I believe you studiously ignoring us and the Council, blatantly ignoring you in the presence of the Royalists is the only solution -that and the Council going to extra measure to see to it the Colonials also ignore you.
The orders we operate to are clear mon ami, we do not attack civilians, but in terms of self defense -as this clearly was - my pilots are clear to proceed however they see fit and to whatever the conclusion may be.
I truly wish to see an end to this debacle, you know damn well the Council does not attack your ships, nor do we extort or make unfair demands of you - what happened here is a shame, an accident, an aberration. It need not happen again, provided both our pilots keep their guns pointed in opposite directions.

Monsieur Cezanne, lets not play games here, if any information is released, we both stand to lose much from it. This is why we both know nothing is going to be released. You're merely posturing.
We are willing to forget this ever happened; your men and my miner all made mistakes. This needs not happen again. I've instructed all of our miners to flee from your forces when they are in the presence of Royalist forces. A few pot shots at them as they flee would do well to keep the ruse up, just don't kill them. I've instructed our miners to expect this and not to do anything but run.
If you can do us the favor of ensuring the Colonials ignore us, I believe I can arrange for a few shipments of ore to go missing.

Bonjour esteemed leaders of the Council!
I hope you are faring well. Do you need some wine or tobacco? Baguette? I can arrange for some to be lost to your cause. That isn't why I'm contacting you though.
It seems these Colonial people still have a hard on for shooting at our miners. Can you do us the favor of asking them to leave us be? Remind them that we aren't agents of the Crown, but mere miners. Same as their friends in the Miners Guild.
Do that for us, monsieurs, and I'll see to it that you receive a nice supply of wine, tobacco, and baguettes. I'll also throw in some images of one of our dear princesses in a most revealing position!

Bonjour Director LeBlanc!
These are indeed shocking news and I will personally try my best to find a solution for this problem. I do not know why they keep attacking your vessels. As far as I know we have already contacted them about this matter, but that was long time ago, and I am not even sure if the message has reached them. But we will remind them about your status in Gallia and that your organization is not the threat. We will keep you informed about the process and if the Colonials decide to attack you again feel free to contact us. I will look forward to the wine, tobacco and baguettes supplies.
