Born to a family of farmers on planet Stuttgart in the late 8th century, Heinrich Schneider grew up wanting, above all, to be a member of the Rheinland Military. He grew up hearing tales of their heroics, and at age 19, he enlisted. Two years passed; while initially, he was overjoyed to have joined the Rheinland Military, Schneider found himself less and less able to cope with the discipline of the Rheinland Military. He was, eventually, dishonorably discharged. Seeing little else to do with his skillset, Schneider began his career as a mercenary under the alias of "Shamayim".
Shamayim adapted easily to mercenary life. Reportedly, he was able to get by decently through bounty hunting, escort work, and more. He frequently worked for the GMG, as well as others. Though sometimes taking shady contracts, records indicate Shamayim was never even a suspect of criminal behavior. Shamayim's life changed when a bounty was placed on his own head. Sure enough, several mercenaries and bounty hunters publicly accepted the contract. Shamayim saw himself forced to lay low for a while.
Unfortunately, this did not help him. A Bounty Hunter gunship tracked Shamayim down, ambushing him in the Omega 11 system. After an extended firefight, both vessels were heavily damaged. Shamayim's engines had been damaged beyond repair, and the gunship was on the verge of exploding. Shamayim's vessel was floating aimlessly through space, heavily damaged and unable to get a lock on its enemy. Before either ship could finish the other off, however, Shamayim's ship floated into the Omega 55 jumphole.
Shamayim found himself in an unfamiliar system, stuck inside a ship that was barely holding together. His Bounty Hunter enemy soon followed through the same jumphole. It was through this stroke of luck Shamayim was able to get a lock on the Bounty Hunter gunship. He opened fire with everything he had, destroying the gunship, but still leaving him stranded in Omega 55.
Shamayim drifted in and out of consciousness, his ship damaged beyond repair, his engines malfunctioning, and oxygen rapidly running out. He woke up through his ship's alarms. Apparently, the gravity of an unfamiliar planet had attracted his ship, and he found himself stuck in a slowly lowering orbit around it. Around his own vessel, he could make out several other wrecks. He signaled for help, at this point no longer truly expecting rescue. He sent out a comm transmission: "This is Shamayim, requesting immediate assistance in grid 7F. Is there anybody out there?"
To Shamayim's surprise, a voice with a thick, Rheinland accent responded. "This is RescueOpsDelta-2...*Static*...we are on our way."
Relieved, Shamayim passed out once again, through the combination of fatigue and oxygen deprivation.
A thud woke Shamayim up this time. Apparently, his rescuers' vessel was docking with his own. Shamayim sighed, happy to have survived the ordeal. Rescue had come for him. He could hear his saviors entering his cockpit, and turned around to greet them, a smile on his face.
Then, their eyes flashed purple.
