Well, I've had some fun making minor adjustments to Commie propaganda posters. I'm really enjoying the stuff Treewyrm is teaching me about the art-styles used in such posters, and I'm really liking the imagery, even if the Lenin stuff is kinda disturbing.
The best thing is that I can steal and alter these images since copyright laws don't apply to Commie propaganda. Heheheh.
As a Gimp user,
I would say, remember that it isn't for making images.
Its for altering preexisting images.
That is, its great for adding text, or changing text, et cetera, but you need an image first....I always seem to have a problem with the idea that I may be stealing things...so I look for copylefts.
More in dept than that, there are a couple of things you can do: change existing layers, or add new ones. Each layer can be rearranged, and given varying levels of transparency. But the best advice one can give, is to just import 3 or 4 images, and mess around with them....
A tutorial could help too...
Right, I'm doing another poster, altering another propaganda poster, but I need to know how to make text go along a curve, as opposed to sitting on a straight line. Any advice?
