NSU, WTS, BSG, 88Flak were the pioneers of Freelancer modding and improvement. It's a damn shame they all eventually died in popularity as the Freelancer community numbers dwindled over the years.

But seriously, pick anyone of those and compare it to any version of Discovery in terms of balance, content and features, and you'll find the only saving grace of Discovery is its player count. Don't be naive.

I can contest this. The game mechanics have been changed drastically. Fighters are slower and more agile but their thrusters are enourmous. Capitol ships mount many more guns and more devestating weapons as well.

Without lanes the playing field has been greatly expanded and combat takes place at upwards of 25k away in cap ships. (Me and Mobius found this out when he fired ten torpedoes into an enemy battle formation at 2k and destroyed him, myself, the battle formation, and the friendly battle formation nearby with that one salvo.)

It plays like an entirely different game. And the best part is that they is such an insane amount of content and a smaller community, that not all of the game has been explored yet. So we can set out in search of newer and better technology and stradegies to give us the edge in combat.

This amazing and somewhat unintentional effect compensates for the general lack of an RP element. (and most people can tell you that RP is EVERYTHING to me in Freelancer)

Yeah, your judgeing the mod before you even know what it looks like, The mod is 1.13 GB big. I hate to say it but your wrong, And there is a lot of things to do in this mod. And the only thing Vanilla about this mod is the engine.

How do you install it. I try to run it,and get is "could not create folder" I tried changing location to my Mod manager, but same. Is their a trick i am missing?
