Rexford

One woman was declared dead, and another woman critically injured, at the scene of a violent
crash at the Winterberry Grove Residential Complex in Rexford. The incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Authorities say that the two women were in an idling 812 Dartanyan 220VE Hovercar, when the vehicle was violently struck by an AI delivery transport operated by Oceanside Bakery LLC, headquartered in downtown Rexford. Calls to the firm requesting comment late Sunday were not immediately returned.

Witnesses stated that the lorry abruptly changed course, and veered from the traffic lane before slamming into the hovercar at nearly full governed speed. Preliminary reviews of the data storage by authorities indicate the lorrys' collision avoidance protocols did not engage, leading officials to initially suspect a general fault in the lorrys' navigation systems. Investigating officers did however stress that the cause of the accident had not been conclusively determined.

Complex Resident, Sidney Ellen-Hatch, was quoted with the following;
"I was looking out my window, looking down at the traffic lane, when I saw the transport turn all of a sudden, very sharply. It looked like it was steered straight at the car. If I didn't know any better, I would have been certain the course was deliberate."

Crash sensors in both vehicles contacted authorities, and emergency vehicles arrived minutes later. Vanessa Donnovan, 19, was declared dead at the scene. The second woman, identified as 29 year old Kelly Mason, was found unresponsive, but was successfully revived at Watterson Memorial Hospital, where she remains listed in critical condition.

A Rexford Official, who spoke on the condition that his name be withheld, told the Daily News that law enforcement officers are intending to detain Mason, due to outstanding warrants issued in her name.

Rexford

Liberty Police have detained a local Whilshire man, found to have illegally entered a restricted area of Watterson Memorial Hospital, located in Rexford. The man, identified as 27 year old Elias Nickatelli, had entered the hospital posing as a medical doctor. He had passed several security stations, before the head nurse, Ms Kathryn Roberts, became suspicious of his behavior and contacted authorities. Upon arriving, Officers found Nickatelli in a phamacy storage area, allegedly in the process of stealing a case of Leonard 224, a controlled substance. Nurse Roberts was quoted with the following;

"It really wasn't very difficult to see that something was wrong about him. Sure, he was dressed the part, and they said his pass was authentic, but his attitude was all wrong, not to mention the lack of intelligence. He actually suggested a drug on a patient that might have killed him if it had been administered. We were lucky the nurse came to double check with me."

Authorities declined comment as investigation was ongoing. A source from Watterson Memorial suggested the man may have (allegedly) intended to steal the Leonard 224 for sale on the black market. Leonard 224 can be fatal to humans if used incorrectly.
