Solo leans back in his seat and smiles. Looks like I have found my next job, but there are a few things I need to do first. He takes a drink of his Liberty Ale and looks over at Victor and Alan.
I apologize for blocking you guys out, too much on my mind these days.
Solo waves to get the bartenders attention. Whats the price for all of this, Sir? He asks. That will be 125 credits. The Bartender replies. Solo hands him a Sirius Credit Card and the Bartender charges it. Thank you Sir, come back again.
Solo gets up, walks over to Victor and Alan and shook their hands. You guys take care let me know when youre back in Liberty and the drinks will be on me. He leaves the bar to act upon his plan.
::he land landed his wrath earlier today and had been wandering around Manhatten, it had been a long time since he had been here. ever since he had been discharged from the Liberty Navy, he had never stopped once, he just kept on going, next it was RepEx Working security for them and now he was back in Manhatten, waiting to hear back from the Navy Brass if he was re-enlisted or not. Enough time wasting on thinking he said to himself, its time to get back to every pilots passion....a good drink and a barfight! and he found the perfect bar.::
::he took three steps in to the place, eyes adjusted and he stopped dead in his tracks.::
Vic?
Alan?
Solo?
Of all the places in this system, I find all three of you here? Wait a sec...whats up with Solo? ::as he watched him leave the bar :: Ah well
Bartender! ::he walks to the bar and leans over:: I got these guys tabs here ::pointing at the two:: As a matter of Fact make it a full round for the bar!
Nothing like a little Reunion to make me want to spend some money eh?
::he passed a card to the bartender and ordered a liberty Ale::
Heres to The Black Talons, may they still fly somewhere, and here is to our Future lads, hopefully it is bright and shiny like the explosion of a Corsair hull eh?
::He sat over with Vic and Alan, making little small talk with them, what they had done since hearing about RepEx and what he had done etc, he told them of contacting the Liberty Recruiters, and asking to Re-enlist blah blah blah. ::
Eh? My Name? oh its Chris, but I havent been called that in years, why not just keep calling me Geist, I Think that is probably going to be my callsign for the Navy again anyway. Im used to going by that anyway.
::he had given the Bartender a pretty large card, but then again, it wasnt often you ran into people you actually liked working with, and had protected your back out there...let the drinks flow::
The bartender saunters up with a huge platter in his hands. Setting it down he remarks, "Here ya go, fresh from Planet Junyo, just flown in 2 hours ago." He smiles and walks away.
The platter is filled with a multitude of fresh fish, each on their own little oval shaped ball of rice. Three seaweed wraps on the side finish off this feast.
He turns to the girl sitting next to him, "Naa, I'll only be down for a few hours... there's another ship en route from Pueblo to pick me up." With a grimace he says "Would be nice to kick back for a few days while they fix my perforated ship though!!"
He picks up the biggest piece of Junyo sushi and motions his hand towards the platter. "Have an appetizer while you wait for your steak." he says. "Probably not as good as what you get on New Tokyo or Honshu, but it'll work...too bad they don't have Sake here..."
He waves to the bartender and points to his empty shotglass...
You ask me why Im weary, why I cant speak to you.
You blame me for my silence, say Its time I changed and grew.
But the war's still going on dear, and theres no end that I know...
And I cant say if were ever...
I cant say if were ever gonna be free.
Isabelle nodded once, glad at the gentlemen attitude the pilot had. She felt much more comfortable when it wasn't one of her own soldier offering up something. So great to be given a little attention for once not because of your rank...
"thanks", she said as she picked one of the sushi - one of the few things she could actually eat coming from Kusari.
"Sounds like you favor imperial ditches... I've never been able to drink Sake. I mean, how can you drink hot alcohol..."
She decided the sushi decidedly tasted weird despite being good - but then, she would never get used at the fact she just ate some crude fish and whatever else they've put in it...
"I believe, working for Ageira lets you go pretty much anywhere, isn't it? All those trade lanes accross Sirius... you must have seen some amazing sights."
Victor looked at Andrews with a grin on his face for the first time that night.
"Well...since he's paying I'll have 2 Lobsters to go."
Andrews laughed and went back to give the cooks the new order.
"So Geist...I see you're leaving BT too...most unpleasent. I think I'm the only one left. bah. I wish our boss would come around more. Oh well." He hoistes his glass and shouts, "to the death of our enemies, whatever they fly."
::he returned to the bar, it seemed like a good enough place to be, muttering to himself::
frackin military, someone stubs someones toe and now they get transferred. And now I gotta sit here spendin money at this place, drinkin away my misery until I hear whether or not I am frackin Re-enlisted? Hmm, Wonder what the locals would say to a wrath flyin around takin out hackers and rogues....might just be entertainin. Ah well, a few drinks would do right first I think. Like my buddy said, why drink if you aint gonna fly.
Bartender, gimme a couple shots of something strong. we gotta have some imports back there, dont we steal some corsair rum now and then? What about some Whiskey? Heck I dont care if ya made it in a bathtub, if its over 50% alchohol, Ill take it with an ale Chaser!
::he looked at Andrews, obviously, the guy new what he wanted, just felt like makin em wait a bit, and so he slid his card across the bar to the man, he swiped it, grinned and then leaned forward, and said, I got exactly what you want, I will be right back::
Andrews, fill two pints half full would ya please? I havent had one of these bad boys sine the Academy days and I intend on enjoyin em!
::moments later, two half pints of Ale, alont with two 'mystery' shots were in front of him. Bam, one shot dropped into the ale and slammed back, the glass hit the counter and the next shot was dropped in and knocked back as the glass hit the counter::
Thats just the thing, now we got anything a bit darker than a beer back there? Im thinkin something a bit on the stout side if ya got it. If not then I guess a liberty Ale will have to do.
:seems the liberty ale would have to do, and he relaxed a bit and looked up at the screens....hmm, Racing in Dublin today...May not be such a bad thing to try..what with the free time on his hands::
The Bartender replied to his comment on alcohol,
"Well Gent, That Corsair rum is hard to come by nowadays, with the military capturing all smiggled goods from Crete."
"But we do have other inported goods from other houses" Hands Ehon the menu. "take a look"
Looks at Victor "Hey, you better slow down on the lobsters mate, or well have none left"
Victor looks sadly at the 3rd lobster sitting on his plate...it's already halfway gone and 2 more are on their way from the kitchen.
"Eh, I need to get back to my hotel anyway...I'm spending tomorrow with some old friends and then traveling back to New Berlin. They think a major RHA push is coming...gah."
Victor grabs his 2 extra lobsters, shakes Ehon and Alan's hands and walks out the door, tossing a hundred credit tip to Andrews as he leaves.
"It was fantastic sir, I hope to come again sometime."
Alan looks at Victor's now-empty spot and back at Ehon.
"So joining the Liberty Navy again huh? What happens if it comes down to war between Rheinland and Liberty? Black Talon (if it still exists) will be used as auxiliary RM...would you fight against Victor?"
He munches on his steak...
"Hope they get those engines replaces soon, I'm losing profit, and my bosses are never happy about that. Although this past month they've been AWOL, so I might be ok..."
*A young man wearing an IMG uniform with UKMG insignia and a glinting Niobium Signet ring enters the bar he is about 6 foot 3 shoulder lenght brown hair, dark stuble and grey eyes but what atracts the most attenion is the large and ovbioualsy anchient carbine of very exotic desgin that he is carrying straped to his back and the unreadble expresion he is wearing on his face*
*he walks up to the bar ignoring the other patrons and sits at the bar waiting for the bartender eyeing up the the few bottels of wisky*
Quote from TS.
SpaceFox: Im fine out here i am ....................im just enjoying the view im looking out into space and admirining the rings round that planet.
redELF: Thats not a planet dear thats a neutron star and its eating your hull .....we should go now.
Quote:My Liberty Cruiser was no match for his Battlestar Advanced (equipped with four mortars), but I continued the fight with the assistance of my two fighter escorts.
Well, at the rate the Liberty Brass is moving, I may be too old to fly a guardian against a remote drone by the time they finally get around to approving my enlistment. I doubt that there would ever be a full scale conflict anyway, no money in it, Liberty is as incorporated as Rheinland now anyway. Then again, a little war is always good for the economy. Who knows, it isnt like them rich folk would fight any way, us poor boys are the ones that make it to the front lines eh? But if it comes down to it, I just hope he calls in sick that day.
::he Looks over at Andrews, motioning for a couple more 'depth charges' glances at Alan for a moment, and then motions for em to Double em up::
What do ya say mate, lets drink up, and just enjoy the peace and quiet for the time being eh? Besides, I have to fly to Planet Denver and deal with my family, not doing that Sober.
