Something I've been meaning to ask for ages. Ever since I bought Freelancer the engine kill button has never worked. I was wondering if this is a general thing or just peculiar to
my copy? :unsure:

Mine seems to work :unsure: . Just to check what you understand by engine kill, it leaves you at the speed you were at, but travelling in a straight line. Not stopping you moving.

Hmm. Engine kill bug is known to me too. Sometimes, the EK switch stops working randomly in mid flight...
I dont know why it happens, but ive never heard of it not working all the time.

--Check that the ship is in free flight mode, otherwise the engine kill wont work.
--If you have a mouse with a scroll weel, that might be causing the problem. If the scroll weel fails, the mouse will be sending the scroll up or scroll down signal all the time, hence countering the engine kill command. (that happened to me with my old U$S 6 mouse).
--Also, check in options->control that the engine kill key is correctly asigned.

Other than that, i have no idea of what is causing the problem. :(

Might be the key you have assigned to egnine kill. I forget what the first one I had it assigned to was but I do remeber it rarely worked. Thats when I switched it to the Z button.

I also have a bug, sometimes when im typing something (and im really typing, that box is opened) and press enter to send the message, or within the yping time, when im cruising, it suddenly stops :( Is it a bug? its not that bad unless im chased by somebody :crazy:

Waaaahh !!!!!!!!!!!! All this time and it works now!!!!!!!!!!
My problem is I'm left handed and so rarely map any keys on the left of the board.
So Z was never really an option! It is now. Appears to be the only key that actually
works for EK. Good call! :$

Ive noted that bug too.
It happens when you type a message ending with "Y" or "y".
Kind of weird problem. :crazy:

Happens to me, didn't know what caused it though.
