Purpose of BS Secondaries?

I would like to know they're... thought of purpose... and their purpose in reality... or your opinion on them.

They seem like a lot better Solaris to be honest. Longer range, 500m/s slower (how much is that? Will that make it impossible to hit fighters/bombers?) higher damage...

Before 4.86 came out they stated secondaries were going to be for snubs and GBs. I am still waiting to try them ofcourse since Yorktown still cannot dock anywhere without the server crashing.
Has anyone tried the flak cannons yet in 4.86? They were also supposed to be improved.

flak is fun. The secondaries are VERY close in speed to cruiser solaris. I have no idea how fast they track though.

Dunno about secondaries, but Flak cannons are awesome!

I was testing my bomber out against my friends BS, and his flak cannons can blast my novas off course, and also tumble my ship around like a leaf in a wind, aswell as damaging me.

The only problem is that cos of the big BS length, they have pretty short range.

Cool. Now if I can somehow find a way to dock with a base, or they fix the bug i just have to get me some flaks.
Oh one more question. Do they still piss off every NPC in area.

I do have a single secondary on the back of my LABC for rear point defence against gb's. Since I have cruiser sollies in my 6 slots.

The only complaint I will have is it looks stupidly big stuck on the back of my LABC.

I put a flak on the class 9 slot on my LABC and its great, I can destroy missiles and knock torpedoes off course. Wish I had class 9 slot on my other destroyers now.

I have 4 flaks and they are signifficantly improved from last version, they're real good...

Solaris, even the regular kind (The gattling kind is stupid, its like trying to hit a fly with a shotgun) does not damage enough, although I think ill wait a week or two... see how other people do.
