Yes, this is my first post. I am ashamed that it's this one.
Firstly I'd like to say there are many pirates who roleplay very well, and i don't mind in the slightest paying them. There are some who have even let me go free.
Yes I've read those tips on how to be successfully pirated without dieing. And i am aware that paying would avoid me being destroyed.
Now to the main thing. I think that there should be a limit on how many times in a row you can pirate/destroy a player. Why? Because I'm not ever going to pay extortionate amounts to hyped up kiddies.
I wont name any names, but some Unioner pirates were doing this to me today. Demanding outlandish amounts of money from me. I refused to pay of course, Citing the fact i am a salary paid shipping pilot.
They said in a number of words that they don't care and would love to blow me up anyway. So i of course let them. Upon reattempting to get through at a later time, they had pretty much doubled the price. And continued to roleplay like said hyped up kiddies. this happened quite a few more times, to the point i pretty much ragequit the game.
This kind of behavior from a seemingly mature community, is not acceptable. Idiots like that stain the reputation of the server for stupid roleplay and ridiculous prices. Had they charged me the standard three million and given me the 24 hours waiver, I'd have gladly paid. Hell i might have even paid 6 million for that. As there were two of them.
I'm not an unreasonable person. But i don't play this game to get into combat all too often. I only have one character and thats my games livelihood at this time. I'd appreciate some kind of protection against repetitive failrp and being blown up.
Thanks for reading. Sorry for the QQ.

I'd have paid 2 mill. The irony is when i approached them in private messages shortly after. -I- was the immature one for whining about it. After about the 4th time, i think i was entitled to speak my mind.
Didn't know that 3mil is standard now. Got used to the good, old 2milordai. ;-) But jokes aside:

- Can't imagine a prctical way to do it.
Those guys might have had a reason (your cargo, ID, area, ship?). Or were looking for someone to shoot at. We don't know. They do, maybe you too.
Sorry for the QQ.
- It's way better to write on forums in civil way than throw insults in game.
Feel free to PM me regarding any grammar/spelling/other language mistakes I have made in my posts.
Ech, I'll start off with the most usual line: You probably had a bad day.
Sadly, lolwuttiness, as you described it, it vastly spread on the server, and there's too many players who care more about their silly, pointless virtual money than RP interaction which is the part of the game you will really have pleasure at and which you will surely remember for longer than a random tax.
Especially now, after the release of the oh so long expected new mod, the population on the server has grown to its max and therefore the amount of newcomers, who often act in the way you've described it above, has increased as well.
A big part of the deal with pirates is plain and simple luck, on some day you might encounter many greedy and cash-hungry pirates, on others you don't. Maybe a change in area would benefit the quality of your ingame encounters. Move to Gallia, there's miscellaneous trade routes and not many players (yet, hopefully), especially not many pirates who act in this lolwuttish manner.
About the limit, I dunno whether this'd be fruitful or just another bag of bureaucracy.

A pirate will tax you at your his whim.
I tend to tax and KoS people, who annoy me with Q_Q, over and over again, deal with it.
The best thing to do for you is to pay once and then avoid that spot you have been taxed.
There are good pirates; there are bad pirates. There there are those for whom piracy is just an excuse to procure targets, and see how fast they can shoot down a transport and such. My only regret when I meet those is that F1ing is illegal, because that would be the only thing to do. They don't care if you don't pay (actually they HOPE that you don't), and they (obviously) don't care about RP, so refusing to interact with them won't stop them. They only want their blue message, and unfortunately the rules prevent you from depriving them of it. When I meet the lolwuts, I just stop watching the screen until I hear the explosion. They won't know that I didn't see them, but at least I didn't waste my attention on them.
