Ok, that part of the new mod is still broken, as I've been said, and of course the dev team didn't include it for now. That's fair, and please devs take all the time you need for it, I'd rather see it come late than having more crashes earlier:D
Seriously, I'm not asking "When?", because there's plenty to keep us busy already. I'd just like to ask "How?". A bit of info on how the thing will work would really be appreciated, just to make sure to be prepared. Will stations be allowed only to factions, or also to individual players? Will the purchase of bases have to go through admin request, or there'll be a new in-game mechanic to handle it? How much time (even just approximately) does it take for a purchased station to actually get in game (I'm not referring to the request handling time by the dev teams, but the inRP building time, if there'll be any)? How much will approximately be the cost of stations? Will we be able to build only the basic "Freeport style" modular stations, or also more unique models like gas miners or prison stations?
Ok ok I might have ended up asking a dreadful amount of questions after all:DStill, whatever you might be able to tell us, will be appreciated a lot.
I don't know about everything else you asked, but a single player will not be able to keep the POS working, because they will need to be constantly re-supplied, something only a faction with a reasonable amount of members will be able to do.
things are still "locked" - so its easier to track bugs
we have part of the features enabled - and once those run well - we unlock more ... that way we can narrow down much easier what causes the CTDs.
player owned bases WILL come, don t worry. - but i am sure we can all agree that we also want a server that doesn t CTD every other minute due to conflicts.
a professional game studio has professionals that are assigned to compatibility issues - we have ... well.... the public beta .... .
and player bases are of course available for everyone - but as it was mentioned before ... one single person would have a full time job maintaining a "high quality" base - while a faction ( official, unofficial or just a group of loose friends ) can share the work.
for many smaller groups - it will be much easier to work on their diplomacy to gain access to the larger factions bases. - that is less work ... and benefits both.
