Background
Liara Belaire was a once captain of a Valor Class capital ship in the Gallic Royal Navy Fleet. Liara lead very successful attempts to suppress the enemies of the crown. On her final mission in her Gallic Royal Navy campain, she was engaged by council forces. Before her Valor's guncrews were able to charge their weapons, there was a catacalsymic explosion in key parts of the ship, clearly the work of sabotenours. Liara and surviving crews were forced to abandon the now dead valor, which was completely disabled. During the evacuation of the ship, the hallway Liara was in experienced an explosive decompression, slamming Liara into a wall, before nearly sucking her out into open space. Liara, finding that one of her arms were broken, held onto whatever she could find until the emergency Blast doors managed to close with her left arm. As soon as the doors sealed, Liara relaxed slightly, and managed to stand up. As she continued her way towards the Lifeboats, she noticed that it was "too quiet", as there was no-one else running towards the lifeboat areas. Drawing her sidearm, Liara moved cautiously though the silent corridors of the ship, hearing nothing but silence, as the alarms had died out in this part of the ship. When Liara made it to the Lifeboats, she found that they had all been launched two hours earlier.
Confused, Liara checked her own time, and noticed that it had been, indeed, two hours sinse the ship when offline. Holding her left hand out, ready to shoot anyone that she see's, Liara began moving towards the Main hanger, hoping that there was a ship still docked. Listening carefully, when she aproached the hanger, she was able to make out the distinct noices of someone talking. Moving cautiously through the door, and into the shadow in the corner of the room, Liara stayed crouched there with her side arm, ready to engage anyone that might find her there. after a few minutes, two armed people walked into the hanger through the door she used, and moved dutifully towards a third person that emerged from behind a pile of crates. after a few minutes of them comunicating, the two armed guards walked towards the door again. One of the guards reached down to his side, but when he did, he glimpsed accidentally towards the corner where Liara was hiding. with a look of suprise, the man stopped suddenly, before he reached around for his weapon. Liara, not hesating, unloaded two shots off into the mans chest, before quickly doing the same to his partner. at the noice of the shots, and the guards falling to the ground, the third person seemed to quickly gather that there was still Gallic Royal Navy onboard, and quickly called for reinforcements. Liara shot the fleeing man in the back, preventing him from informing anyone on her actions further.
Knowing she had very little time, Liara quickly surveyed the Hanger, and noticed an old Lynx parked in the matenance area. moving quickly, Liara climbed into the cockpit, and tested if the Lynx was flight capable. finding that it was within working limits, Liara fired the engines, and moved it into postion to undock for her broken Valor. Noticing that the commands where not operating the hangar door, and figuring that the Valor's powercore had insufficient power left to open the door. Before Liara was able to figure away out of her Valor's interior, additional people poured in though the corridor, only to stop from suprise. Liara, knowing she was out of options, began shooting at the hangar door, and nearby items, hoping that her crew hadn't yet moved the hazardous materials out of here yet. after her fith shot, her hope was met with a violent explosion from a pile of crates directly next to the Hangar door, blowing it clear open. Without thinking, Liara accelerated towards the hole.
The Lynx's right wing was torn off due to the small size of the hole in the ship. Moving her partially crippled ship out from under her Valour, Liara engaged her cruise engines, before any enemy fighters in the area would have a clear shot at her. Before long, the missle warning light began flashing, indicating someone knew she was there. Making her way to the closest escape, Liara tried getting the Lynx's scanner to detect the Jumphole Liara could see in the distance. The ships computer would not set the coordinates to travel to it automatically, so Liara was forced to fly manually with her persuerers close behind.
Liara evaded the enemy fire long enough to get to the Jumpgate, and to set the dock protocols, when her persuers caught up with her. Just as Liara's Lynx jumped, a missile collided with the rear of her vessel, vibrating the entire ship with it's explosive force. The Lynx, unable to cope with the damage it had sustained, started to break up, coming apart peice by peice. The engines died, quickly followed by the power to the cockpit. When the Lynx finnally decelerated, Liara had no control over the ship in anyway. watching helplessly as her ship spiralled away from the tradelanes and planets, Liara drifted off, alone in her small craft, with limited air supply.
After some time, Liara considered shooting herself, instead of freeze to death, as the temperature was dropping so quickly, that Liara was shivering violent in her icy cockpit. Liara raised the sidearem to her left temple, and prepared herself. Just before she pulled the trigger, she caught a glimps of another, much larger vessel heading past her. In a Last ditch effort, Liara jury-rigged the comsystem on her ship to be powered by the powercore from her sidearm. The system emmited a single tone, before short circuting, and destroying the comunications system. Liara leened foward, hoping that it would be enough. The large ship slowly started turning towards the Lynx, decelerating enough to verify what it was. Liara noticed that all the weapons on its side were trained on her crippled vessel. after a few minutes, a person in a space suit exited the larger vessel, and jumped off the hull towards the Lynx. The person in the suit landed on the windshield, gripping onto the metal frame. The person seemed to be looking trying to look into the cockpit, to verify if anyone was still alive in the vessel. Liara moved foward and put her hand on the glass. The person in the spacesuit moved back quickly, most likely out of supprise. The person reached around, and grabbed a bunch of cables with magnets on the end, and stuck them around the front of the ship., befor giving the thumbs up to the larger ship. after a sudden lurch, Liara's Lynx was pulled towards, and then into the larger ship. The spacesuit person walked back into Liara's field of vission, but without a helmet. The man that was in the suit climbed up to the entrance hatch and tried to open it, but it was sealed shut due to the structual damage to the ship. Liara, desperate to get out of her frosty cockpit, fired her sidearm at the windshield until its couldn't fire anymore. Liara threw her gun at the glass, then shoulder charged at it by kicking off from the chair. When Liara colided with the damaged glass, she broke though, sending her hurtling though open air, before landing hardly on broken glass, puncturing her arms, and making her bleed quite severly on the floor. Liara looked up to see a group of men with rifles point at her before falling unconscious.
Liara awoke several times in a place that resembled a medical center, but was never awake long enough to figure exactly where she was, she could only tell that there was something severely wrong with her body, as she felt really offset, before she would fall unconscious once again.
Eventually, Liara awoke, and felt fully awake and alive. Liara looked around, to take in her surroundings, and noticed that she was deffinately planetside. When she tried to move her arms, a person quickly bustled into the room, and pushed down on her shoulders, warning her not to move yet. Curious, Liara looked down, to see that her arms had been replaced with some sort of robotic arms, with a metal section around her chest. When the woman explained that her arms were ruined, and it was the only way that they could her life. The woman then walked to the side of the bed, and pressed a button. immediately, Liara lost awareness again.
Liara awoke once again, and tested if she could move her arms, which were met with the feeling of the sheets of the bed moving on either side of her. Without letting an other person get into her way, Liara moved quickly to the door, and opened it slightly to peek out. She looked at the guard that was just outside the door, and noticed that there was no one else around. Liara reached out, and slammed the guard into the wall behind him, knocking him out. Moving though the unknown place, she came across the fire-escape. Figuring she was in a city, she proceeded up the escape, hoping that there was a landing pad above her. Liara, fixated on re-establishing contact with the Gallic Royal Navy, she managed to steal a star flyer. Taking off quickly, Liara didn't bother inquiring the computer what planet she was on, as other ships started pursuing her. Liara cleared the atmosphere, and made for a jump hole that was close by.
After jumping through the jump-hole, Liara confirmed that she didn't have anymore followers, before making her way to the planet ahead of her. Here, she got in contact with a friend in the Gallic Royal Navy, who told Liara that she was listed as killed during the capture of her Valor, and was listed as a traitor. and if she was ever to return, she would be personally held responsible for the loss of her Valor. After discussing other details, Liara contacted the crew of her old valor, who were also in hiding, and organised to smuggle them out of Gallic controlled space.
When meeting up with what was left of her old crew, Liara worked as a low key private security force.
Eventually, her crew split up all around sirius, maintaining low-profile jobs to hide from GRN detection. Liara herself joined a human-survivalist group after seeing the devastation they wreck on humanity when she encountered nomad's and infected humans on a job. Liara has never disclosed what exactly happened on that occassion.
