Atrocious! The Colonial Remnant has attacked and destroyed my personal cruiser, the new recruit Viper's Greyhound and Sargeant Major Whip's Gunboat! I am officially declaring war on the CR for attacking the UoG near Arranmore and for destruction of some ships in our fleet. The consequences of you actions will be terrible Colonials!
LTJG "Midnight" Gyre reporting on the recent encounter with .:UoG:. in the Molly Asteroid Field, Dublin.
DRADIS identified several members of .:UoG:. performing maneuvers in the Londonderry system, and we decided to station ourselves outside the Hood in case they decided to attack, given the heightened hostilities between the Union of Gold and the Colonials. Firebat volunteered to assist, but had to fly from Tau-44.
While we waited for his arrival, we encountered several low-level (//NPC) Mollies, including several Gunboats.
Shortly after Firebat's arrival, we were warned by a ship of unknown capabilities, identified as Darkstar, to immediately leave the system.
Given their recent attack and destruction of a non-combat =CR= vessel, we declined, citing said incident. Darkstar replied that he was unaware of said incident, repeating his order to disengage. We again refused, sending our ships toward the Londonderry Jump Hole to determine what vessels had come through.
First, we encountered a vessel ID'd as Viper, but the ship seemed under-armored and was quickly destroyed at the edge of the field.
I was at the rear of the group, the remainder of the group had already engaged the Darkstar, which turned out to be an Outcast Destroyer. The vessel retreated into the Molly Asteroid Field and we pursued.
The combination of mines, asteroids, and weapon fire quickly brought down that vessel, the Darkstar was gone just as another vessel, Long.Patrol entered close range. A Rogue Gunboat, we similarly engaged and destroyed that vessel in the Field.
During the battle, an unaligned vessel, Trader_Pinky, called over open comms, offering assistance. However, he remained well out of the fight, and once Long.Patrol was down, we returned to the Hood, to await transfer of the prisoners.
We heard an open distress call from Darkstar, but were unable to locate the source of the signal.
Several dozen pilots were recovered and transferred to the Phaedra.
I may not have to re-awaken my brethren for Colonials continually put their collective foot into their own demise. However, if you approve, my vessel is adequate in removing a few "creators" at my whim, of course.
