I want to share the benefit of X-Fire Communication Systems during LPI Operations as a secondary tool to the already operational SKYP3 protocols. This communication system can be helpful in terms of collecting evidence (screenshots & video) as well as using the internet browser and the chat features while being ingame.
Benefits in evidence documentation
When taking evidence it can be a bit tough sometimes to get guncam by pressing print screen, then having to upload it on an image hosting site after. The process can waste alot of time to get it up and then post. The X-Fire communication system allows LPI officers to take screenshots and/or videos by a simple press of a button, which is ready to be uploaded when you finish your patrol and exit the game.
This can save officers alot of time when collecting evidence about crimes for the LPI Criminal Database, for Patrol Reports or for other operational requirements.
Safe in-patrol communications
Moreover, if other LPI officers use the communications system we can make our own encrypted channel to be able to communicate with other LPI officers while being ingame: something which is a distinct advantage over SKYP3 protocols. Many-a-time it is difficult for officers to be able to answer their SKYP3 protocols whilst on patrol, having to deviate from their patrol (by pressing Alt+Tab), using it, and then go back. This can be dangerous leading to space accidents, destruction of LPI vessels or stranded vessels in the middle of unknown space, not to mention it is impossible when under fire (you don't have the time to alt+tab under fire, call for backup with enough information to get it, and get back ingame without being destroyed/severely damaged). This is why it can be very useful as LPI officers to utilise these comms channel in lieu with the main official SKYP3 protocol.
How to setup the X-fire Communications System on your patrol craft's dashboard
To setup the x-fire communications system, go to www.xfire.com, make an account and download the client. Once downloaded, the communications system will automatically track Freelancer but it will not be able to track Discovery. To make x-fire work with discovery follow the following instructions: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;#entry1665090
Once you have set it up you will be able to take guncams, video's and communicate efficiently as well as access internet websites ingame.
If you want to join, reply when you have set it up and we can set up further communication channels and invite people to it. My ID is: ElVlado.
