BHG|Core changes

So, the Core is going through some more changes (yay -.-), to coincide with .86, and to get rid of the whole 'zealot army' feel. As such, the Core's RP, ranks and story are all being changed/updated. This thread will contain a summary of the changes, so that people don't have to sift through vast amounts of text just to find out what's going on nowadays.

Ranks

The ranks have changed to reflect the Core's more open status, the ranks that have been changed are Guardian (|G) has been changed to Associate (|A) and Paladin (|P) has been changed to Guildsman (|G).

This will require the renaming of a number of ships, and if you do not have the money to spare to rename the ships yourselves, post here with a list of the characters that you need to rename, and money will be sent to them from the Core bank.

Naming convention

The latin naming convention is being replaced with a general callsign one. So if you want to rename your ships, just pick a callsign (make sure it is not stupid/rude/offensive of course), and update your roll call post to include it.

Again, this will may require renaming, so if you want to rename your ships and don't have money to spare yourself, post a list of the ship names you wane to rename here and money will be sent to them from the bank.

General RP

The whole military/zealot RP is no longer necessary, I know this restriction was a stupid one and caused a lot of problems. From now on, anyone is free to RP however they like while wearing a Core tag, especially associates, who are supposed to come from all walks of life. Though please try to keep it at least somewhat sensible, as I think we can all agree that someone with mental disabilities or an incapacitating drug addiction would not be put in charge of a Battleship.

Lore

The lore has not been changed, but it has been updated to account for the Battle of Minor and other such occurances since .85, the basics of it are:

The Core lost a large percentage of its forces (several fleets worth) in the Battle of Minor. This was a huge loss to the Guild, who has put countless trillions of credits into funding this war that has now come to nothing. After the battle, the Core becomes more focused on exploiting the lands it has than conquering more, as such it's military become far more defensively organised. It is based around Associates, who are all kinds of people that have come to the Omicrons for personal reasons, and who are levied into militia service to defend their new homes when necessary in exchange for the permanent protection of the Guild, these militias serve as guerilla forces who harass enemy forces until the main fleet can show up. Said fleet is a single grand fleet that will move to engage large enemy forces in a pitched battle when possible, but is constantly busy as it has to defend all the Core's fronts against large enemy forces.

The Core is also much less xenophobic, as in order to start being a profitable and stable dominion, it needs corporations and independent traders to come and trade with it, along with people from the colonies to come and settle on and work it lands. This means it will be defending traders who trade with it in the Omicrons, and welcoming outsiders who come to do business.
