The Rheinlander turrets for the gun boat and destroyer are shown as doing more hull damage compared to the others, but I don't seem to hit with them as often. I don't know if this is because the visual and audio effects are distracting to me, or if they are actually less accurate. I noticed the other day that the Rheinlander-based transport turret is described as less accurate, so I am wondering if that was just infocard fiction or if its actually true. Are the Rheinlander turrets less accurate, IE have a broader random spread than the others?
Projectiles always fire at your cross hair (there's no drift) but Rheinland guns are slower so that may give the illusion of being less accurate. It is also possible that the projectile's hitbox is different from the model. That could cause it to 'clip' through the target because it didn't register.
' Wrote:Speed is basically the same as the others (a few are faster but most are identical). You might be right about the projectile hit-box.
Also I was wrong about the transport turret, since that was in reference to the Cerberus turret (there is no "Rheinland" turret).
There's Rheinland Turret, are a class 3 transport turret, the in game denomination is small Rheinland turret, there are also a liberty, a bretonia and a kusary ones..

That's just different art for the same class-3 turret

Yes! but stills being Rheinland turret... as for the OP... i dind't noticed that you meant, i have a RNC and a BDM GB.... nothing different in shooting terms....
I honestly never encountered such a problem, they seem fairly accurate to me. 'Course, I've used them more than any other turret type (at least the cruiser ones) so I'm probably fairly used to them.

Turret projectiles do not have a hitbox. Guided objects like a missile are the exception. The Rheiny turret inaccuracy is prolly due to the huge ships those things are usually mounted on. This causes not all projectiles to target the same spot, since they arrive with a slight delay. This is more pronounced the slower the projectile is.

Probably just a visual issue. Get in the cockpit view of a gunboat and fire all turrets forward, six of those green circular projectiles take up half the screen and I lose sight of the target.
