I find it strange that the Corsairs are waiting for an answer coming from me since they directed their ultimatum towards OSI and your organization, TAZ. Now I see this lockdown announcement... It's what they wanted in the first place.
For me, what they ask is unacceptable. First of all, Theta is and will always be an independent system. If I wanted to stay in an area controlled by some group or state I would have stayed on Erie. Secondly, banning all their enemies from our stations would mean we deny docking to more than half of Sirius population and that's bad for business and for our moral integrity. How am I suppose to tell the weekly Outcast supplier that he's no longer allowed to come there? How will I explain some mercenary that his rented room is not his anymore, even if he isn't launching attacks on the Corsairs from Nine or Corfu?
In case you're wondering, I offered them a more... decent solution but their small brains were already set on "kill all zoners" so my solution was ignored. The only way to answer to these savages is with force. They are threatening to do what? Destroy zoner vessels wherever they see them? It's not like they didn't so far. That council can hardly keep its dogs in a leash. Look at that splinter group, the Brotherhood. They seem to act on their own laws. The Corsairs can't promise us security even if we agree to their terms. What else did they say? They will blockade Theta? Hah, I still got a few friends in Omicron-74. They can assure that this base is supplied. Those brainless monkeys have no advantage over me.
Denying us entrance to their space means starvation for their own people. They can tell everyone that they don't depend on Zoner food supplies but they do... that's what makes them vulnerable.
This whole... ultimatum is just a charade. They're laughing at us and I am sure that if we give them what they want, they will request even more in the future.
A Zoner Council is more then needed these days, doctor.
My neural-net account is spammed with reports from my security drones and other Zoners about hostilities in Theta. Zoners, Hesians, Frelancers and even Outcasts are not respecting the lockdown order. My security drones gathered some evidence before I ordered them to dock on the station as hostilities were raising.
A zoner captain informed me that many from that group launched a full scale attack on Gamma. Not that I'd be very sad about it but they did breach your order and my station rules. Two of them are already on my black list.
Oh and, when you initiated the lockdown, did you take in consideration Corsair instigators? Like I said in my first message, they are already set on killing zoners.
Your concerns are indeed justified. The freedom of Zoners in Omicron Theta and Omega-41
is a primary concern of mine and I work to see that it is upheld in all negotiations.
Corsairs will not be allowed to control the Freeports on my watch. That you can assured.
In my original announcement I said clearly that non-Zoners without prior permission will
be disallowed docking. If there are situations where the livelihood of the Freeports is
in jeopardy due to this lockdown or registered residents are inconvenienced then I will
gladly give allowances to those who seek them.
The reasons for this lockdown are, as you know, to halt aggressive elements using the
Freeports to base attacks on the Corsair Empire, which is the main issue that is to be
addressed.
If Corsairs are indeed attacking and abusing Zoner rights then I will do what I can in my
communications with the Corsair Empire to see that they take action in making them stop.
Regardless of this, any and all Zoners are perfectly justified in defending themselves
at any time. Defending oneself does not equal to raiding gamma however, which I am trying
to address in another channel. The ultimatum the Corsair Empire has set is a means to
force action out of Zoners for our repeated failures to disallow basing on our Freeports.
This aside, I thank you for your reports on docking behavior at Freeport 9. The time limit
of 18 hours has only just elapsed however so I will act on any and all evidence of docking abuse
from this point as per what I set out in my announcement.
I hope I can rely on your continued support as we move ahead in this.
