CommID: Jean Pierre LeBlanc Target: IND Board of Directors Subject: Transporting services
To the Board of Directors of the IND, Bonjour.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jean Pierre LeBlanc. We are, above all, worshippers of Ze Arch, ze grand provider of fine Gallic wine and cheese. Ze Arch is Ze Arch, and being such, demands vast quanties of ore.
Sad to say, we have become very poor followers of Ze Arch lately. Our monthly allotment of ore shipments have dropped off, and Ze Arch is incensed with us. Our wine has soured and our cheese has molded--plagues from our diety.
This cannot be tolerated. We must seek out others to help us catch up with our monthly tribute of ore before Ze Arch casts further plagues upon our people. For this reason, we have sought out your fine group to help us transport our ore.
We could ask others to join our cause, but we are a very spiritual people. We understand that you are a spiritual faction as well. You give your devotion to Ze Credit. For this reason, I believe both our factions can appease our gods and bring peace and balance back to our lives.
We can provide the miners, the protection, the mining locations and the place where Ze Arch expects delivery. You would provide the transports to carry the ore the short distance required. Payments would be divided at 60% for us, 40% for you.
Of course, while in Gallia, many have availed themselves of everything we have to offer. Cigars, wines and furs. We have many profitable trade locations that would appease Ze Credit god you worship. So, you would be able to make a profit coming and going. This is good, no?
Respond at your earliest convenience.
Regards,
Jean Pierre LeBlanc

[color=#FFFF66]Bonsoir, Mister LeBlanc! I'm Andy, from the Independent Neuralnet Division. And let me tell you, this offer of yours has stirred up a bit of a debate amongst our VPs.
I understand that you're a very reverent individual, Mister LeBlanc. You and your men in the GMS are wholly devoted to Ze Arch and its... uh... teachings. And as you've correctly inferred, we in the IND are wholly devoted to our own deity, Ze Credit. We follow Ze Way of Ze Credit, and we toil endlessly day in and day out in order to meet the demands of Ze Credit. Just as you must appease Ze Arch with your precious minerals, we must appease Ze Credit with copious amounts of legal tender.
And as much as it pains me to say it, your current offer does not please Ze Credit.
A 40% cut isn't nearly enough to satiate Ze Credit's appetite. In the past, the IND has participated in similar contracts that offered as much as a 70% cut of the profits, so our Deity already has certain expectations for these sort of operations. We certainly don't want to make Ze Credit angry with us. [color=#FFCC00]We would need to receive at least 60% of the total profits in order to accept this contract.
You see, the transportation of the minerals is really the more risky part of the job. I understand the hardships that a miner faces in the fields. It's tedious work, but not inherently "dangerous". On the other hand, traversing the lanes or even open space with a cargo hold full of high-value ore will attract unwanted vagrants like a moth to a flame. Not to mention that many of our pilots are still rather unfamiliar with the majority of Gallic core space, making the whole job just a tad trickier for us. As such, I believe that our transportation services would have to run for more than 40%.
Our offer stands at 60%. I do hope you'll consider our counter-proposal, as I'm really looking forward to working with you. But it just wouldn't be feasible at the percentage you're offering.

CommID: Jean Pierre LeBlanc Target: Andrew Harris, IND Vice President Subject: Re: Transporting services
Monsieur Harris,
Thank you for your response to our inquiry. Your diety, Ze Credit, is certainly one to be feared. Like Ze Arch, its appetite is insatiable. And yet, as devoted followers, we strive to appease our gods. In this, we have much in common.
With regards to your counter proposal, we understand that you are bound by the demands of Ze Credit. When Ze Credit speaks, you must listen and obey. With this in mind, we are curious as to whether your diety may be inclined to favor us with an equal split of the profits. 50-50 as it were.
To induce your diety, Ze Credit, to accept this new precedential offer, we are willing to mine all the ore for you ahead of time. It will be sitting on our mobile base of operations waiting to be transferred onto your ships. We have already collected over 30,000 units of ore at this time, with more deliveries coming soon. So, there will be an abundance of credits that could satiate even the most hungry of dieties.
We will provide you the safest of routes that will lead you to the place where Ze Arch has determined to accept your offering. Those working for Ze Arch often receive it's protection and blessing. Also, if by chance, you do get accosted by some nasty brigands, we will bear half the loss from our side of the profits. This is fair, no? If you have need of fresh insults to hurl at them, we can provide these as well.
In a couple more days, our mobile base will be filled, and Ze Arch may start plaguing us with itchy nether regions if it doesn't get it's ore soon. Personally, I hate that plague. Please respond at your earliest convenience.
Regards,
Jean Pierre LeBlanc

[color=#FFFF66]Well, Mister LeBlanc, I've talked it over with the other IND representatives, and we've decided to accept your counter-counter-proposal. A fifty-fifty split sounds fair enough to us. After all, the IND's real reward here is getting to work with you and your fine colleagues in the GMS. Additionally, I'd be delighted to glance at your list of colorful insults, as our pilots are in dire need of some fresh material.
We can get to work immediately. For specific individual meet-ups and cargo transfers, we can take this to a more private channel. I'll start asking for a portion of our transport fleet to be sent up toward Gallia.
