It was a dim lit room, with one table in the center and chairs surrounding it, Death Runner at the head and Sotha Sil sitting beside him. There was no security besides the 4 cameras; one on each corner of the room.
"My friend and partner in business.. This room has been refurnished and complete in order for us to have a secure meeting place to discuss.. the.. more important and secretive of manners. We would not want our enemies getting a hold of our information."
Death Runner smiled a bit at Sotha Sil, then reached down to his left side at a briefcase leaning against the chair. He picked it up and put it on the table, opened it and revealed to his partner a blank holo-pad. He closed the case and shoved that aside. The focus was on the mysterious holo-pad the captain held within his hands. He looked sternly at Sotha Sil for a moment.
"This.. My friend, is to remain known to us and only a select few individuals. This.. is the key to our victory. It is the key to domination. The key to destruction. The key to sovereignty. The key.. to Sirius!"
He placed the holo-pad down on the table and pressed several buttons, moving his hands quickly around the center and activating the password to display the data it contained. He removed his hands, the two men watching closely as the first words appeared on the screen:
The Novus Spes slowly approached the rock floating in the orbit.
In these modern times communication usually works via long range com system, people personalyl talk to each other less than ever before.
Actually, .. Sil never met his boss before. At least this way. This was their first meeting from face to face.
He was a bit nervous. Probably because this kind of situation was new to him.
He'd never have been participated in suchmeetings, with possibly momentous results.
Suddenly a bridge officer disturb his thoughts: "We've reached Sergio Refugio, we have clearance to dock:"
Sil nodded and left the bridge; heading to the air lock.
The door opened and an officer of the military greeted him. He told him that Death Runner was alread waiting. He lead Sil through several corridors until they reached a door, and his escort pressed a button.
The door opened and Sil walked in. The illumination was acherontic. He took a seat at the lonely table in the middle of the room, surrounded by chairs.
Death Runner talked to him, smiled, and then insert a holo-pad to a console...
The man turned his wheelchair a bit to face Sotha Sil even more. He pushed the holo-pad a bit closer to him so he could see better, and looked at him sternly.
"The goal here is too essentially weaponize a large amount of cardimine and use it as a catastrophic plague against our enemies. Whether it's in the water system, in the atmosphere, or shoved into the peoples' faces, I don't care. I just want us to be able to have something that will make our enemies cower in fear before the outcast nation! We will accomplish this. It will be a difficult and long process, yes. But we must do this for the good of the nation."
"Considering that we're hunted by almost everyone on this sector, that could turn the tide in our favour.
I'm not a cardamine expert, but I don't know if cardamine gas is effective as a weapon."
He pauses for a moment, remembering something.
"Didn't we salvage a ship in Coronado? That flying cardamine lab or something. I just browsed through the report.
We would have to bring the stuff from the ship to Galicia, and maybe get some real experts. And we need to be creative. As you can imagine, quite a lot of cardamine would be required for a big target. We maybe need a carrier for the cardamine, in case it is not effective enough itself. Maybe some other gas.
At least for a planet or so. I think just a concentrated amount of aerially cardamine could be inserted into the ventilation system of a starship. I'm sure that is no problem..."
He pauses again, taking a deep breath.
"By the way, are we talking about a weapon that makes the people 'addicted', influences the somehow...or are we talking about using cardamine as a deadly weapon?"
