I have no fun dodging few enemy fighters trying to escape, i bet those guys on my tail too. I'll better fight to the end and give them their blue.
My ego doesn't hurt when i lose to a decent enemy. If we all stop care that much about our beloved characters being destroyed, wouldn't battles become better?
Winning side, on the other hand, could limit number of CDs launched at person attempting to run. If he spams cruise button - let him run and RP it like you missed him"Oh sh**".
Runner brings escape pods with his mates to allied base, and everyone is happy.
Sure thing, defeated party (including escaped) is supposed to leave for next few hours.
In my opinion, adherence of some kind of "Gentleman codex" would be awesome.
What do you think?
People can be gentlemen if they want.
It is rare but meh, people want to blow up spaceships.
Luckily in group fights you can cruise away, dock, resupply, and come back if you want....so long as the base is out of their range...it is allowed if you can manage it, but some people will not like it.
Escaping and then coming back with full ammo. Most sneaky option.
This is roleplay, right? Why should we play invincible characters? Let them suffer, lose. Or even die.
Blue in your favor doesn't improve you in the eyes of other players, unlike your behavior.
Take it easier.

Hi.
Sometimes, if someone has been fighting against the odds and has done a good job of it, or had a particularly awesome duel with someone, or whatever, then I'll make sure the CD's "miss" and they get away.
A sort of unwriten set of gentlemen's rules exist already, but the fact they're optional is a very good thing.
I think that 70 CDs is a lot. I don't see why there should be a limited ammount of CDs used during chases, because that'd be hard to prove, and quite dubious. Some other servers, like Freeworlds, has this number drastically reduced, down to 7 max or so, with only capital ships able to carry the maxium (100).
