We can all compare the stats for the guns, and we all see that some class 9 guns are more powerful than some class 10 guns.
So... Why use the class 10 guns, if your faction offers a class 9 gun that's just as good stat-wise? Every now and then I hear people say that some guns are more accurate than others, and I wanna know if there's any truth behind it! A mate told me that his aim is better with Magma hammers, than with Codies. I've also heard that projectiles that are shaped like a spear or an arrow hit better than a blob-projectile.
Is this just imagination, or is there actually some truth behind this? I would appreciate your input very much!

Fighter guns have no greater statistical accuracy between themselves, but certain visual effects are preffered by some people since it's easier to see the path which the projectile travels and thus adjust your aim.
NB: There are a few weapons which have in-built inaccuracy; namely Bomber Guns and Battleship Cerberus turrets. The shot will scatter slightly around the point where you are aiming.
All energy weapon projectiles are the same size, regardless of their effects. But some people prefer certain effects because they can track it better and adjust their aim, as mentioned. If you want a type of weapon with statistically higher average accuracy then use laser weapons.
Kidding, its relative, your gun your choise, some like fast fire rate guns, some like fast projectile guns, some like shotgun-type like magmas, you need to know your fighting skill in order to know your best gun.
750 M/S guns are going to be a lot easier to hit people with just because they close the distance the fastest.
Also keep in mind the speeds of all the guns mounted, as the targeting system takes an average I believe, so if your gun speeds do not match and you aim at the little red + in front of a ship you man not be able to actually hit it because the average speed of your 600 guns and your 750 guns makes it so one gun undershoots the target and the other overshoots despite your aim.
-ALL- guns have the same hitbox. No matter how big the projectile, it is still one pixel that actually hits the target. Yes, even those insane mortars.

^ Mostly just this, the faster the projectile speed, the quicker it will reach the target, so the less time they have to manoeuvre away. Personally, I swear by projectile speed first, and refire rate second, all other stats are arbitrary. Most likely to hit per shot, and because no-one can land *every* shot, I find it better to balance that with a steady stream of shots.
Refire rate is my choice, projectile speed in irrefutably more likely to land.
