Ok, this is something that happened to me today, at around 6:05pm my time (Perth, West Australia).
I had been held up by an Outcast GB and a Hacker...(?) fighter of some sort, in my Kusari Explorer on the tradelane between Fort Bush and Planet Manhatten.
I had obeyed instructions (cut your engines), I had hit the Z key which done and was drifting along at max thruster speed, got shot with a cd, hit the Z key again and was drifting along under 80.
Was asked for a 'donation' and had just replied that I was looking to see how much I could afford (I don't keep a lot credits on the Explorer).
At about this point, I suddenly found myself moving sideways (more or less) at some huge speed, how fast I don't know, but I suddenly found myself more than 2klicks away with the gap between me and the 'pirates' rapidly expanding.
I don't know what happened, but at a guess I was hit by something moving extremely fast, because when I docked I had hull damage, not much hull damage and I hadn't been fighting against anything that could damage my shields rapidly enough to be able to damage the hull.
It's an interesting situation and while it would be interesting to find out what happened, duplicating the circumstances would be difficult.
I posted here because I don't know if it's a glitch or an 'unprogrammed feature' as things like this are called. :P
From the thread title, my first thought was lag, but maybe not...
Only thing I can think of doing that is something going through a tradelane and pushing you along? I'd guess you'd notice that though, so beats me!
Heh, nah, not ANZLAG, there wasn't anywhere near enough people on the server for that when this happened.
Also, I don't normally get that unless there is a LOT of activity near me and as far as that goes, it was the two other ships, three or four npc 'police' and the tradelane near by.
I'm thinking Proteon is close to right. Maybe I got hit with a mine from the fighter or maybe the fighter hit me by accident under full thrust while I was e/k'd.
Whatever it was, it sure was interesting and I *could* have gotten out of paying the 'donation', but they had me fair and square, so I paid up, probably not as much as they were looking for, but better than a slap in the face.
same happens here.....with NPC's.....when i do a ALT+Tab....if one player is around me...he looses his controll and get buggy in No Clip Mode...means he Cross Over Objects....like bases ...or Planets...it happened to me in Minor with a LABC,
and when im with Legate...i face some Things strange...in missions of Gamma...when i kill BHG cruisers.... if i got To their Explosions...i face a Shock...anything stops....then i see them around 2km or 1.5 km's away from me Blowing up. and this just happens in gamma. does cap missions work in SP mode that i Try it there? and see the results?
My guess: You were in enginekill mode, in the middle of a lane path. And traffic came down the lane. Blammo.
