It has come to my attention that there has been some confusion regarding what is commonly referred to as Hazmat Containers. It is my hope to clear up any confusion regarding our product. We manufcature the containers so that toxic materials, be they spent nuclear fuels, industrial chemical waste, or otherwise dangerous goods may be transported safely in space and without danger to nearby shipping, bases, or planets. They are designed to withstand impact such that should a ship carrying toxic materials be severely damaged or even destroyed, the containers should remain intact and provide safe extraction by qualified personnel. Our designation for the current manufactured item is Model ALG-SS-9601 Container, Material ' Hazardous.
Our advertising catalog refers to the items as:
Quote: ALG's Hazardous Materials Canisters are manufactured from a shell of lead that is internally coated with iridium. Since iridium has an extremely high melting point, is very resistance to corrosion, and is the second densest known element, it is ideal for uses that put it in contact with radioactive, corrosive, and toxic materials. ALG's HazMat Canisters are considered so secure that Interspace Commerce issues insurance policies with discounted premiums for toxic waste storage sites and transportation that use them exclusively.
Our product is manufactured strictly for the purpose of providing them to our customers so that their toxic materials can be stored safely until pickup for transport to our disposal and conversion sites. When you see an ALG ship bearing a load of toxic waste, that waste is being safely transported in these containers. When your scans show only the containers themselves, those items are empty and being transported either to a customer location for exchange with full ones, or back to our installations for periodic inspection and maintenance.
Please note that contrary to some rumors over the years, most likely bandied about by smugglers, our product cannot hide contraband materials from detection. Our engineers and researchers have ensured that while the toxic materials are secure inside, the design of the containers does not interfere with normal cargo scan operations. Thus, if your scans show the containers alone, then they are empty, while if they contain material such as toxic waste, nuclear devices, or any other commodity, they will scan properly as the correct quantities of that commodity.
I do hope that this clears up any confusion among your officers and staff. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me here or via Skyp3 communication protocols.
