BEFORE READING! : It's long, read ONLY if interested, post only if you've read it, please do me this favour. It's kind of important to me.

So, I've been playing a bit of the good old Pokemon Blue recently (My first Pokemon game, pretty much made me a gamer) and got a good nostalgia flash, great times indeed.

Though, there's still one thing absolutely unsettling for me, Lavender Town. I think You all remember when you got out of this Cave, ready for your next Badge-Fight, all pumped up, and all you could find was this empty, almost boring looking town with this eerie soundtrack, The Lavender Town Theme.

Now, this should refresh your memory. You know, this song creeped me out when I was a kid. Apart from the fact that it gave me nightmares and a headache when I was listening to it for a while.

So, I've been googling a bit to stumble over a few stories, creepypasta's and stuff like that. I read through them all, everything regarding Lavender Town, its theme, its lore.

Stuff freaked me out the night I read it, couldn't sleep, couldn't get this song out of my head. It's been inside my head for days now, and I'm starting to like it, for some reason.

The song is simply creepy first you hear it, high pitched notes, some noise in the background and all that. Listen to it with headphones, if you want the full dose. I assure you, you'll get a headache.

There's been reports of many things revolving this song. Kids and teens having headaches, nose bleed, even freaking suicide. Of course I believe those suicide stories are over the top, but the rest could be true.

Some guy made an analysis of this song, and found out that some frequencies are simply too much for the human ear, especially to undeveloped ears, such as those of children. Check that stuff:

Pretty freaking creepy huh ? DON'T USE HEADPHONES OR TOO MUCH VOLUME, YOU'LL REGRET IT. There's the picture of "Ghost", of Lavender Town Tower, and Unown saying "Leave now" or something, made by just the frequencies of this song. I'm not sure if this is actually real, but goddamnit, I doubt you can edit stuff like that into the damn frequency of the song.

This sort of stuff got me interested so badly recently, couldn't stop reading things about it. Now I'm at a point where I can say that I start liking the song, not only because it's in my head for days, but I also sense some more than just creepiness behind it.

Listen to it, especially the rhythm track of it, you'll notice something, after a while. You can feel the despair Lavender Town was in back in the days. The only Pokemon Town without a Gym, without anything but a few people and a tower used as a graveyard for their Pokemon. The whole Town revolves around death, which is kind of ironic, since it's a kids game.

Now listen to this:

Beautiful, isn't it ? Apart from this boy's talent, and great interpretation of this song, you can hear the same despair I've been talking about in the first minute, but then this sort of relieve and sheer emotion in the later parts, which, in my opinion, could mean the peoples relief, saved by Red, your character.

Whew, I just felt like sharing this with you people, since it's been interesting to me for a bunch of days now, and I hope you will, just like me, think differently of this "creepy" song you were afraid of as a child.

Oh, and please try to keep this free from silly comments or derailing attempts, it's not flood, your virtual playground is the other way. Read this post, and then post yourself. I'd greatly appreciate this.

Cheers.

Do you remember the first gameboy pokemon games? I do, but i never actualy knew these myths were around and i played the games when i was a kid.
One of the myths were: when you reach lavender town in the original japenese pokemon versions the high pitch tones in the music made kids commit suicide while they listened to it on the headphones and hundreds of kids died due to this.I dont believe any of these myths but heres a video about the myths anyways
