' Wrote:1- Yes it's quite ooRP for factions like the rogues to have cruisers, but it's not all about RP, but balance too. Ever tried countering LSC+escorts with, lets say, barghest+fighter support? No? Cause that would be doomed to failure. (Unless you have very crappy pilots trying to get those barghests down).
I don't really see a reason why would Rogues stand the ground against Liberty Navy. All other factions of similar background seem to do fine without capitals.
Disco is oriented towards the the "All factions have similar combat capabilities" type of balance, probably to allow even casual players to have fun and kill stuff. Obviously this makes little sense in a roleplaying environment.
Personally, I'd love to have a more "strict" approach to ship balance, like what Freeworlds seems to be doing, but as said previously I doubt it will ever change.
" 3- Unbalanced? Try to fly some more as unlawful and then come back at me. The fact that there are some very good pirates don't make the whole thing unbalanced. I mean, if Igor would pirate you with his lane hacker you would cry and scream that Sabre with hacker shooters are OP, but they aren't at all. "
Visit Rheinland, especially when RM plays in war with LN in Texas. RHA+other scum rules entire House, RFP, corporates, independent traders, are just hiding.
" Oh boy.
Yeah, why would pirates ever use lanes and jump gates. They can just cruise through large systems for 1 hour. And besides, every system has a jump hole connecting it to every system, right? "
Oh boy, because computers in lanes, gates, docking rings etc. will permit every ship to dock, especially with unlawful papers, right?

Well then maybe the lawfuls need to wake up. You can hardly blame the Hessians for just being good at what they do. And it's not like Rheinland Lawful gear is underpowered too.
no lanes/gates works some places (bretonia, I barely even use lanes on my corpboy there), but say Rheinland, it cuts the house in half. Where is the joy in cruising 150k to move between north rheinland and south rheinland

Thats exactly the case where Realism will hurt gameplay. Don't do that. Just don't.
P.S. I say that as a player, that has only 2 unlawful chars on his 6 full accounts, one of which hasn't been played for half a year, and another one log ins once in 2-3 weeks.

So you leave home to attack another house and you're surprised the pirates come out to play? Derp.
Game mechanics. Deal with it.
Honestly, toughen up. Corporations are far worse off than lawfuls when it comes to pvp.
