With the discovery of Gallia, i was astonished with the new goods in gallian markets, specially the cigars and fine wine, i also noticed galians are fond of sirian goods as well; but due to the ensuing war, and the minefield surrounding Gallia the path to an ordinary trader is full of perils.
As such i would like to construct a freeport of trade somewhere between Gallia and the rest of sirus, a freeport facility that would serve as a point of peacefull trading of civilian and legal goods.
The principle would be along this
Gallic space has its own goods and are cheap in its sphere of influence but expensive and profitable in Sirius space, a trader would have to travel a long way and endure plenty of perils to aqquire them, and sell them in Sirius, the same happens to the oposite way, if a trader wants to aquire cheap Sirian goods, and sell them in Gallic space where they are profitable he has to travel the same long way and endure danger. Why not plant a freeport in the middleway of the route in a safe place with Sirian and Gallic goods at an average cost, not so profitable but still decently profitable?
The military / political advantages in creating a neutral safe haven for trading would be great for both sides, as it would reduce smuggling and information leaking and spying, keeping the borders with less risk of infiltrations without firing a single shot or wasting ressources in reinforcing further security patrols.
I would like permission to take on such endevour from the Gallic factions and Sirius Factions that may see fit to have a say on this matter, and keep in mind, i will respect whatever you have to say, its your territory in the end.
The objective of the freeport would be to provide everyone a safe trading place to allow any trader acess to the goods of both sides at an average price so the economic system wouldnt be tampered.
I would also like to hear opinions on what you would like to see on this station to be sold in a traders point of view.

Mr. Jackson,
We Zoners are always in favor of expansion of nuetrallity and I'm sure the many Zoner trading factions would be glad to help you, as may I, after plans are secured for its exact location and risk assessments are completed, of course.
Sincerely,
Marvin James Orphelia
Administrator of Freeport 11
I second the sentiment that the expansion of neutrality is a good thing but I have a concern; Isn't there a fine red line this freeport would be walking with the Gallic government in regards to their possible exports?
Furthermore, This is a large number of people that would be required to operate a freeport in such space. Perhaps if there was enough interest in the general populations to facilitate manning such a station.
I support the idea but there are many issues that will need to be rectified for it to work.
1. Available technicians to maintain the station?
2. Available population to run the station?
3. Ensuring there is no issue with Gallic trade laws vs. Sirian trade laws. (We don't want to make a large metal coffin)
4. Possible locations.
5. Security.
6. Administration.
7. Ensuring that all pre-existing local forces will respect and adhere to the No Fire Zone all Freeports are supposed to maintain.
Fighting to your last breath is a benchmark, not a goal.

Answering points 1 and 2, if such endevour would be undertaken, i would like this station to be led by someone in the zoner faction and that person would then choose whatever zoner crew would be fit to operate the station, also 1 political representative from each house could have quarters on the freeport, these representatives would act as ambassadors, expressing the point of view of each house, and concerns related. 1 corporate representative of each house corporation would also have quarters here, because its their products we are trading on the freeport, and their concerns would also be vital.
Regarding point 3, as i said, only legal and house permitted goods would be traded on the freeport, not ilegal goods, or sensible goods, (rather see wine, farmaceuticals, minerals, cigars, trade goods being traded then cardamine, weapons etc).
Regarding point 4 i was thinking about settling the base on the edimburgh system, near planet gaia, or the lewis system, these are fringe sistems on the sphere of influence of gallic or bretonian goverments.
Point 5 - its up for the zoner commander to designate a security officer, but given the fact that neutrality would be paramount on the freeport, low security would be required.
Point 6 - if such endevour would be undertaken, i would like this station to be led by someone in the zoner faction and that person would then choose whatever zoner crew would be fit to operate the station, would love to see volunteers for the spot.
Point 7 - As i said the freeport will be a benefit for everyone, a free trading zone, and a place where everyone would be able to meet regardless of faction or flag colour, its purpose and mission would guarantee peace by itself.
Regarding myself, i do not plan to lead the freeport, as my availability is one in a casual level, but i would be a patron to the freeport, commiting my ressources, whenever possible to its ongoing mission and existence.
I do hope i enlightened your concerns, Jackson out.
I can see your hopefullness, but I'm concerned that a respect for trade will do little to secure a safe No Fire Zone around the Freeport.
I would suggest contacting local commands around the area to make sure if this facility is constructed it will not be endagered by "misfiring" weapons.
