Independent Miners Guild Public Statement about Freeport 1 (Omega 3)

At 13rd March the well-known terrorist group named Rorry's Renegades were plaguing the Omega sectors one more time seeking to profiteer by pirating the innocent traders and miners who make their living in these systems. They were first spotted by IMG|Red-3 waiting at the Omega-7 Gate for incoming traders, in Snowdown system. Soon after they destroyed a civilian transport named Tim_Tebow, an IMG wing finally arrived at the scene. A brief fight ensued which forced the RR to take the lane to Aland and then to the Freeport. The IMG| wing knowing that it didn't break the Freeport Laws, normally pursued the criminals and made them to dock to the Freeport 1.


We decided the best way to handle this situation was to report the incident to the FP1 Administration which would ensure the barring of the terrorists from their base which was undeniably used as a staging base and as a safe haven by activating the 3.2 clause of the Omega Treaty.

However, when we did that, the Freeport 1 Administration asked from IMG to provide proof that the Rorry Renegades are indeed a threat to the commercial traffic. But should we really provide proof of the daily activities of a pirate gang when they even advertize themselves as you can see here? Or didn't the FP1 Administration know what was happening around them all these months outside of their station?

We hoped that was the only recent incident. Yet even the Jokerz, minions of the Joker terrorist run to the Freeport 1 to save themselves as you can see here: [1] [2] [3] - But if we reported that incident what would the FP1 Administration ask from us? They would obviously demand proof that Joker is indeed a terrorist...


Today, after a whole month of waiting, the Freeport 1 instead of barring terrorists and criminals from their station, which have cost the lives of hundreds all these months, they decided to fine the Independent Miners Guild with the ridiculous amount of 200,000,000 S.C.

But then why did they fine the IMG which didn't even break the Freeport Laws but also was - and remains being - an entity which has invested the most in the safety of the region? The answer is that the Freeport 1 maintains very close ties with the RR criminal organisation.

Freeport 1's previous Administrator, namely Dane Summers, as you can see here has been a great sympathizer of those criminals and especially their leader, something which obviously the current leadership continues until that day.



It is obvious that under these circumstances the Independent Miners Guild cannot meet the illegitimate and outrageous demands from the so called "Confederation of Freeports", yet we will abide with the docking restrictions imposed on our Guild Members who valiantly fought against the RR.

However the repeated failures of the Freeport 1 Administration not only in this matter but also in series of matters they have had with both Bretonia and Rheinland since the previous summer, clearly shows their inability to represent their station.

For that reason the Independent Miners Guild does not recognize Freeport 1 as a legitimate entity in the Omega Treaty anymore, however we will continue to honour and fully abide with our obligations towards the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Bundesrepublic of Rheinland as stated there.
