There are many pro's and con's on allowing such a group cruiser usage. From ability to take on heavier Lawful targets and ample supplies in the debris fields to construct such, to the lack of a ship model and lack of a shipyard to construct.
I wish for this to be discussed to have the ID support cruisers. Only known one we can use is the Council class obstinate unless someone comes up to make up one for an update.
We did have Jinx act as our modeller for a cruiser, but with no ID support in such we couldn't even submit it.
If you the community have any comments or idea's onto such, please state so. But keep such on track with the topic and trolling need not respond.

Pirate factions shouldn't have capital ships.
Such is the same for the Mollys, Rogs, but it's unlikely the Scylla will be removed.
Factions like the Blood Dragons and Hessians are fine, considering they are in active war (the former could go without it's caps, though), but the Brigands certainly have no legitimate use for heavy hitters.
It defies the entire idea of striking fast, getting what you want and disappearing into the woods/fog/asteroids.
Personally I have no problem about cruiser usage by unlawfull/pirate factions since they could build their own. However this could start something where every faction wants his own.
Since Gallia is a dead place and Brigands could be the only one active enough unlawfull faction there, I support the idea.
Some additional things what could serve the gameplay isnt hurt. They couldnt use a cruiser for piracy but it could help them to act better against GRN, what is dead already...
No. Capital ships belong to factions that have an agenda to claim and hold space. The brigands have no such desire (some Brigand -players- might, but that's the Council's role. Brigands are pirates, largely similar to the Liberty Rogues in their disorganized but widespread state). Therefor they should not be using capitals. Including cruisers.
We already have way too many unlawfuls fielding navies that are WAY outside of the scope of what the faction could sustain (Hessians, Sairs, Casts). Adding more to the mix isn't going to help matters. If there's any other Gallic unlawful faction that should be using cruisers, it's the Maquis (but it's not their MO).

The Brigands are not master shipbuilders, they can get things done but they cannot do it as well as others. Besides, the use of one is limited from their perspective, Brigands are not the most coordinated or motivated people (save for by money). Besides, Brigands should avoid the GRN, work with the GRP, and run circles around the Corse while supplying Council bases...not just popping royal ships.
I think you just want a Cruiser so the LE can have it, the Brigands themselves really have no place for such a thing (Naw the LE are not Brigands in my mind, just something like the Hellfire Legion).

The LE trying to have ships they shouldn't?
That's ridiculous! :nyam:
Brigands are disorganized and independent by lore. They're supposed to work together cell by cell, not act as a standing united nation. That would be ridiculous.
Besides, taking on heavy GRN targets ? Really ?
All the Brigands did during the war was lending the occasional hand to the Council forces. They have no interest at all in active warfare against the Navy, and this is made obvious from the storyline. Leave cruisers to the Council. Even Maquisards don't use them because they rely on hit & run tactics in their war against Navy.
Not only aren't the Brigands firmly backed by the Council as Maquis does (ie no large ship-building capabilities), they're even less organized and not interested by war.
If you're after a cruiser just to pew gallics, you're in the wrong faction.
