So, I really want the Kusari Phoenix into the game as a VIP/Assault craft.
Xing said he'd finish it, if I found a modder to put it in the game - so, now I am asking: would anyone volunteer to mod it in?
I was thinking somewhat smaller size and same maneuverability as a GB, four powerful/slow front-firing guns (somewhat weaker version of Kusari GB front gun?) and two or three lvl 2-3 turrets for point defense, CM, no CD/torpedo. Shield, cargo and hull as a GB. Thrust at... 170? Slower than a fighter/bomber, faster than a transport/capship.
Intention is both to make it an alternative to Gunboats (and to a lesser degree, bombers) for the KSP and have it as a RP craft for Kusari VIPs - with survivability, status and a lot of power to stop heavy transports and the odd GB, but without small craft defense of a proper Gunboat since it's not made for independent operation.

i dont know - it does look kusari-like of course... but still very much like a battlemech in space.
and i am not really supporting the idea of high damage ships - like 4 front GB cannons that can actually fire. - thats a one shot fighterkill - 4 seperate hits means that two guns take out the shield ( any shield of a fighter ) and the remaining 2 guns damage the hull of any fighter either completely or too much to proceed, while its too easy to hit with them - unless they have an extremly small firing arc. ( in that case its more an anti gunboat ship - but i still feel a bit uneasy with that )
i think a gunboat gun does something around 15-20k damage. - so 4 will do 60-80k damage ... make two of those fly in a team and you ll have ships that can dish out enough damage to destroy a battleship - too easily. of course a bomber can do that, too - but the supernova cannot fire that often ... maybe twice on one longer approach - a gunboat gun could most probably fire 2 times on a short one and three times on a longer approach. - such a new concept needs balancing and testing.
but just by the looks - i am torn between like and dislike ( a bit more on the dislike scale ) - weapons are not really shown very much in FL. the ships use the weapon models - but hardly ever a modelled cannon ( like the liberty cruiser ) - this ship has 4 big tubes.....but maybe the people that post here can convince me to like it more...
IF thats possible - you know, bombers and supernovas were never meant to take down a figher either.... yet, i bet 100.000.000.000 credits that more fighters fell to the supernovas than capital ships. - but yes, the intention is OK ... ( would be some sort of .. errr.. useful super heavy fighter then, i guess )
on a side note, i remember killing an outcast scimmy with a lib cruiser's forward gun. wasnt meant to happen, for OBVIOUS reasons, but i got the kill with a fwd gun :P
since i cant see thepic atm, (at school, blocked-.-) i cant give an answer. should be able to in an hourish though. also, 4 fwd gun type guns... crazy. 2-3 is max imo. no other guns/turrets then, right?
4 GB forward guns with 170 thruster speed.. Sounds like a new GB version to me.
And I think that it won't be accepted, by Igiss.
People wanted gunships to be that way, and it was denied.
I don't know the size of that thing and I don't know the intended agility of that thing.
But I can easily see it as a too uber ship.
Also, unless you can make those tubes actually fire the weapons, they are useless for the looks.
It will just look funny, like former Snubnose.
Size should be bigger then a BHG gunship for obvious reasons.
Almost all GB turrets (I think forward guns too are as big as turrets) look funny on BHG gunship, because they are bigger then the ship.
It would be the same way with this one.
So, until I hear the whole concept, I will stay neutral on this thing.
