Got to thinking about some ways to help people train skill, and one of the obvious things would be some kind of training dummies that you could shoot and get shot from, but with extremely low amounts of damage, so that it was just learning how to target (good for things like SNAC training, for example, where a live target doesn't live).

I haven't thought beyond that, other than "it would be cool if" kind of things. Maybe give a variety of targets with infinite health on permanent rotation around conn? Give them guns that do 10 hp damage or something, so that you can get evasion practice from them too? Is this possible and easy?

Kinda like AIs that you can control.

If they could implement this to Carriers, so carriers could launch and control like, 6 Guard NPCs that fight along the carrier, that'd be so awesome.

How about doing it this way;

Have a specific station in Connecticut that launches 'training drones'.

In order to launch a drone, you need to target the station, then use the command /drone <insert number><class>, where <insert number> is the skill level of the drone and <class> indicates what type of ship it is, as in fighter, bomber, capital ship, using the letters A to C.

The skill level will indicate a variety of things, such as ship type and weapons.

The Drone will then be launched and will automatically target YOU and only you.

To end training use the command /droneend and the training drone will break off and dock with the station.

How to actually implement this in game.... I have no idea.

+1 This.

A lvl 15 fighter opponent is pretty hard to hit/kill even if it is 'only' an AI.

I wonder where those uber strong lvl 15s are.

If you want to train snac; go to Kyushu, find a little cop ship, make long EK turns so it comes at you, try to snac that.

It would be better if these dummies/weapon platforms were in GUARD systems so they can gain more activity. Just like Hessians, imo, they have the 2nd best Guard system because of the weapon platforms.
