Yay, my Zen finally gave up and died. It shuts off about 5 seconds after I turn it on.. and the screen is now around 90-95% unusable.. so.. yep (it got cracked in an accident, there's nothing to complain about with the brand itself).
So, I'm either going to get the same model or something new.
Creative Zen Vision W (Same model)
60GB, $352, 4x3" 480x272p screen Click here
Archos 605 WiFi
80GB, $350, 4x3" 800x480p (touch) screen Click here].
Note: Some applications (example: Internet browsing, $30) cost extra to use. Not sure which applications cost money and which ones don't.
Any personal experience with the Archos? Any tips or suggestions? Comments?
The Zen since its more portable and slim. The Archos is big by the looks of it. Unless if yuou can get some side shots of it so I can see the size comparison.
Alternative:
Buy a PSP Slim or Original and unlock it (Hack) to custom firmware.
-Skype (Slim Only)
-VOIP (Both-Requires Unlocked PSP)
-Control PS3s
-Internet Browser (Free)
-RSS
-Internet Radio
-Music
-Movies
-Games
-TV (Appropriate Custom App)
-TV Remote (Fat PSP only)
-YouTube Player (Custom app)
You dont get 30GB but my 8GB Card does me good

When you say not portable.. what do you mean? If you're talking size, and it's about the same as the Zen Vision W, I don't mind. But if it's something else.. whaa?
No, The ZVW will fit in your front jeans pocket. The Archos 605 needs at least a midsized fannypack or purse to carry it around. But, if you don't mind that, I guess it's not really a problem.
Oh yeah, and it turns out that the problem with my Zen automatically turning off was low battery. Haha. Oops. But the crack is still there, and the screen is slowly getting taken over by darkness (ONOZ!).. here's a picture of it normally:
And here's a picture of it marking visibility spots (places where the screen still works) in yellow.
What happened was it was during a vacation to Arizona, it was sitting in my backpack along with its charger, and the plug part of the charger smashed into the Zen, I guess. Not really sure what happened, but when I took it out, it was all broked.
ADDED: I can still operate it fine, but, quite obviously, no videos. Sound quality is still good, its pretty much just the screen. Maybe some internal parts, but probably nothing too important.
At least now I can use it to hook up to the TV to watch movies/videos and stuffs.
