This is only opinions of a few. Maybe a majority. But the reality is, we do own it.
If we wanted to sell all our assets, we could. Now, let me emphasize IF. Just in case you wanna manipulate wording.
It's not our intention, it's not our goal.
You see, how we run DSE) is nothing like you folks have ever seen before, so therefore, you actually have no basis to guess how our faction is run.
Got a problem with it? Tough, I don't give a crap. I don't care if you're going to yell out to all your pals about how no one owns DSE), because we know how it is. gtho over it.
And get your facts straight DD, admins have stated nothing of the sorts.
The fact you are ignoring is that the opinions are those of the admins. My opinion matters not. Nor does snak's, bobs, or joes.
You're not understanding what is being said to you. You do not own DSE). End of story. You might own the shared ships and such, but you do not own the official status that DSE) has. You can't, as the leader decide that you want to ditch DSE)'s status if the rest of the faction objects.
No one manipulated a thing you said so drop the whole victim attitude.
As for claiming that admin's haven't stated that no one person owns a faction? Do read the OP of this thread. Snak3 very handily quoted Felix. Not to mention there are faction rules. Rules that stipulate a faction is made of 5 members at the minimum. Good luck having an official faction with 1 person.
TLDR: You can own a factions assets. You cannot own the faction's official status. That is owned by everyone within the faction.

So, leader could kick every single member out, and then disband the faction when there is noone to actually object?
' Wrote:Eat it.
Thanks Geckon.
As Prowler said. Good luck doing that. You kick every member out and try to disband it (at least officials) and the membership speaks up. You'll find that they get the faction and you get the door.
As has been pointed out. Faction leaders have acted as you've described in the past. The result wasn't pretty for them.

That.
And what is a faction without its assets, I could take all the money, and Ships DSE) 'owns' (As we purchase a lot of ships and give them out to members, a similar concept to a company car.) which would leave a player base, and.... that's about it.
It all depends on how it is run, how it is structured, managed, whatever.
----------
Take this as an example.
A) Mr Joe Blog is the owner of a large corp, its going well, but he decides he wants to shut the company/group/faction down before it gets too out of hand or w/e.
He lets his board of directors know, despite the fact they help run the company, they don't have the final say in the matter.
He puts out the notices, fires his staff, and the company gets shut down.
He owned it, and he had the final say on what to do with it.
Now. Compare that to another group of people.
Say, I dunno, a particular group of 'freedom fighters' somewhere.
B) No one owns them, as they all are working toward one thing, and if the 'leader' gets killed, sent to prison, disappears, another will take his place. Nothing is lost, the group still exists, still fighting for what they believe is right/want.
See what I am getting at?

Now, as DSE) is hot topic right about now, I will point out that we run it in such a way as example A). We have no desire to shut it down or anything of the sort, and would rather give it up to one of the other HoDs/3IC if it came to it.
Does that mean everyone else would? No.
But. Simple matter of fact is, we run it in such a way that we really do have final say on the matter, so if we did want to - for what ever reason - sell the assets, fire everyone, and shut the company down, we could.
