It was more like an apology the rest of the forums because I knew before the first shots were fired that there would be whining. What I find surprising is that there's not the whining like we've seen before.
Mikrosh, in the RP thread you linked to some of the non-RP comments made a couple of years ago. Generally what happens when someone decides that they're no longer neutral to the Zoners, whether it be Bretonia in Omega-3, the Corsairs in Omicron Theta, the Core in Delta - there tends to immediately begin a whine-fest from certain Zoner players that we're not respecting their role-play, and things tend to quickly escalate and spiral out of control.
This whining is what's known as ZonerZonerZoner on here, in case you didn't know - and is actually the source of amusement for the players (as opposed to our characters).
Quote:I am not planing to change the server story line because someone threatens me. If zoners are to be allied, then they should be allied until further rp will prove the contrary, but that will lift the access to order space.
That's certain your choice as following the vanilla RP of Zoners. Not a problem - we'll certainly make an assortment of runs in to blow the heck out of you. We're not pressuring you per se to change your ways - the Core itself is NOT a vanilla group, and we've had several years of ongoing RP to solidify our position regarding the Order. All in all, it's actually pretty fun - and funny. I keep waiting for Lou to start screaming that we have to respect his neutrality even though we've decided that we don't WANT to be neutral to him.
Also as for the Omicrons, the Core has been doing some things on our own to keep stuff going - we're taking over Nauru, and kicking the Corsairs out (with their blessings, of course). That's why there've been so many APM ships hauling supplies to Daba - in RP we're literally building a city out there. (Dynamic RP and storyline.) I think we're going to have another scheduled event with the Corsairs in another week or so. It does turn into time-zone issues, though. A lot of our guys are in Europe, while I'm in America. Makes it interesting doing things with real life and work.

well I am more a rule follower... and the zoner id is prety much the same as the vanilla zoners...
but, I hope that after this encounter, the id will change...
about the whining... well i am forced to do some rp whining... people are dieing ffs:Dand they are mostly civilians...
the only thing I was confused was your id... but heck with that...
I am still confused, are we OZ allowed to hunt bunters now that we are at war? since the id states that zoners can only fire in defense...
I am not that old arround... so i don't know when the ID can be overidden or not...
And, hope you won't mind that i will try in RP and cut off all the contracts u have by proving that u attack civilians and stuff.. No one will buy it any way because everyone acts towards new players/factions like some kind of plague, unless they can get credits out of it...
No hard feelings though...
and yea, I linked some oorp stuff, cuz i waz lazy to search for the rp ones... the ideea was to remember the council how ur guys tend to act towards zonurs zonurs zonurs:D

The Zoner ID didn't change after the last time we did this, but I think this is a good point of evidence for it to be modified.
Our Core ID now is slightly different from the old Core ID. However, it leaves things open so that we're not just stuck with shooting at the Order and Nomads. RP in game and on the forum can have a group acting in a way that will make you go "WHAT?", since it's pretty dynamic. To give you some idea of this, at one point the BHG|Core and the Corsairs had a non-aggression pact, when the Corsairs got ticked off at the Order. Which meant that we literally were flying into Gamma on our Makos and helping the Corsairs shoot the Order.
The hostilities are at this point confined to Zeta. We have no intention of expanding them unless we're forced to do so. There's no reason to do so since as you'll have no doubt noted there's no one coming to your aid other than the Order. So you can act in defense of your base in Zeta, no problem, but you can't go on the offensive (with your Zoner ships) in Delta. If the Order wants to bring it into Delta, that's up to them.
Note that we're not over-riding our ID. If you'd said that you were tolerating the presence of the Order simply for your protection, and that we were welcome there as well - that's basically what FP11 did. We know you're lying, but that's okay. But you had to say you were working WITH them - and to us, that's a big red flag. It's sort of like whoever was in that Corvo I blew up last night telling me that he was allied to the Order. Just ... don't do it. Heck, we know OSI makes trips into O100 and delivers supplies to the Order. We don't have a problem with that - because at least publicly in game, they do the same for us, even if it's not on the same terms.
And I don't think it's going to do you any good, accusing us of attacking civilians. You see, there's one minor problem. We don't care - and the rest of the Zoner factions have already SEEN that out in the Omicrons, we'll attack civilians. As for house space - guess what? They don't care, either. You're Zoners - you've already flipped your middle finger at the houses. So if some of you die because you're working with and assisting the known terrorist organization, the Order, why should the average citizen in house space care?
Unfortunately, it's all a matter of perspective. To the House governments and corporations - we're the good guys. WE know we're a bunch of evil bastards, but we've got a great advertising agency. We take former criminals, we rehabilitate them, we work WITH the police forces in all the houses to contain their criminal element, and we help make the average citizen of Sirius a little safer each night when they go to bed.
How can you compete with that?
Also, note that it's nothing against you guys personally, and I'm quite sure that the leaders of the current official Zoner factions would agree with me on this. Having an active group of people is a great thing for our game. Active role-play is wonderful, and having activity all over the place is fantastic.
But just keep in mind that you ARE a new group. We're well past Vanilla Freelancer here. So when established players make these comments:
' Wrote:Mr Cross.
We understand your concern. However, this group persists in their overt support of the terrorist organisation known as The Order. While this continues, they will be treated as enemy combatants.
Once they renounce all ties with The Order, this status can change.
They know what they have to do.
' Wrote:You are fortunate that I am still flagged as an independent delegate of the old Council or
I would have not received this message.
You are in a dire situation to be sure to which you have my sympathies. Us Zoners are
definitely not strangers to this sort of situation. Regardless of the reasons that this
is happening, I cannot suggest you fight. You are in a part of space that is very much near
the heart of the Core's influence and any Zoner assistance that may reach you will not be
sufficient to defend the station. If they have given you a chance at surrender, do so and then
negotiate safe evacuation of the residents of your father's station. This is the only method to
save everyone under yours and your father's care. You may fight for the station but it will not
save your people. This may be seen as a cowardly action, but it is the duty of a leader to measure
the actual gains and losses associated with a decision. You will gain war and constant conflict
by fighting back now. If you surrender you may at least have the option to start again
peacefully in a safer area.
Just keep in mind that we've done this two years ago. That's why we're not going after ALL Zoners - just you. And if you surrender - or renounce your ties to the Order, even if you don't mean it - we're done shooting. Then we'll have drinks at your bar and have bar-fights again.

this one was not that fun... only some some 141 and some indies where around, but they fought like there was no tomorrow...
I start to like this unplanned even more and more. meanwhile I'm talking with admins to approve us a fight back, and it seems that we got it. :yahoo:

Never said you couldn't fight back. Please feel free to defend your base. But keep in mind that if you start attacking us in Delta, that there can be consequences for FP11 as well. Heck, last time we purposely went into O74 and shot the crap out of everything there, too. We'd prefer to keep it rather low key now...
And I'm considering moving my Neph out there to help you, too. Just because those pesky bunters are attacking Zoner territory, you know... :) <hopefully the idea of that doesn't confuse you too much>
